• Air Compressor:Theaircompressorpumpsambientpres-
surizedairintotheoxygengenerator/concentrator
• Oxygen Generator/Concentrator:separatesOxygenfrom
Nitrogenandsuppliesitdirectlyintotheozonegenerating
cellinsidetheozonegenerator

• Oxygen Generator/Concentrator: The oxygen generator
usesaPSA(pressureswingabsorption)molecularsievebed
toremovedirt,moisture,nitrogen,andothertracegases,
producingoxygenatgreaterthan90%purityandlessthan
-60˚Cdewpoint.Theaircompressorpumpsambientairinto
the oxygen generator input. Then, the oxygen generator
outputsoxygen(O2)feedgasintotheozonegeneratorcell
andenablestheozonegeneratortoproduceozoneeffec-
tively at 6 to 23%wt. ozone concentration, depending on
oxygenow,andgeneratortype.Inourexperience,oxygen
generatorsmanufacturedbyAirSepworkverywellwithAb-
soluteOzone®ozonegenerators.
• Oxygen Filter: To protect the Absolute Ozone®generator
fromsieveparticlesincaseofoxygengeneratorfailureor
malfunction,werecommendinstallinganoxygenlterafter
theoxygengeneratorandbeforetheozonegenerator

• Ozone Flow Control Valve (Flow Meter): This should be
installed downstream from (after) the ozone generator to
maintainworkingpressureacrosstheozonecellasspecied
fortheoptimalperformance.
• ALD 2000 Flood Prevention Device:Werecommendinstall-
inganALD2000witheveryozonesystemtreatingwaterto
prevent water from backing up into the ozone generator
anddamagingit.Non-return(checkvalves)donotprovide
100% water ooding protection to the ozone generator -
WE RECOMMEND installing the ozone generator WITH
theALD2000orsimilardevicewhentreatingliquids.

Ozone Injector for Water Treatment Applications (Venturi):
Inletwaterowsthroughthepumpandtheozoneinjector,cre-
atinga vacuumthat pullsozonegas fromthe ozonegenera-
torandinjectstheozonegasintothewaterow.Theinjector
shouldbesizedtodissolveaminimumof90%oftheozonegas
intothewaterowcontinuously.
Ozone De-gas Tank:Ozoneenrichedwaterfromtheozonein-
jectorowsintothedegaschamber/tankwhereaslowdownof
waterowby2minallowsanyundissolvedozoneandoxygen
gastorisetothetopandbeventedthroughableed-offvalve
ALD2000Rtooutsideorthroughanozonedestructor.
Ozone Destructor:Undissolvedozonegaspassesthroughthe
regular or heated catalytic ozone destructor that is made up
of non-consumable manganese dioxide (heat-protected from
moisture fouling in heated destructor). The manganese diox-
ideoffersredundantozonedestructcapabilitiesifselectedand
sized correctly.

OzoneGeneratorinstallationshouldallowforgoodaccessto
properelectricalpowerandrequiredgasconnectionsandallow
goodcoolingaircirculationfortheOzoneGenerator(s).
DO NOT OBSTRUCT COOLING AIR VENTS ON THE OZONE
GENERATOR.
The Absolute Ozone® generators must be installed in a
drycoolspaceprotectedfromweatherelements.Ambient
workingtemperaturefrom-10Cto+30C.
TheATLAS/MAGNUM® OzoneGeneratorshaveauniversal
mountingdesigntobeinstalledonaverticalwall,onahor-
izontalortiltedbench,mobilecartorskied.TITAN®enclo-
sureisdesignedfora19”electronicmountrack.

groundedpowersource,accordingtoalocalelectricalcode
only.
2C. Plumbing
When injecting Ozone into water, all measures should be
taken to protect the Generator Cell from water exposure/
ooding,whichmaycauseinternalcelldamage.AnALD2000
orsimilarautomaticliquiddrainsystemisrecommendedto
beinstalledontheozonelineto Venturi,topreventwater
ooding.
Stackable Without a Rack
ATLAS/MAGNUM® ozone generator comes equipped with
attachment tabs that can be reversed to provide you with
thelibertytoinstallthegeneratoroneontopofanotherin
arackmountformationbutwithoutrequiringarack.When
ozonegeneratorsareinstalledinastackaprovisionshould
bemadeforthedisassemblyofoneoftheunitsintheunlike-
lyeventthatrepairsarerequired.

2D. Gas Connections
TheOzoneGeneratorshouldbeconnectedbytubingmade
frommaterialappropriateforozoneandoxygenapplications.
ConnecttheOzoneGeneratoraccordingtoindicationson
inputandoutputbulkheads.Alleffortsshouldbemadetopro-
tectthegeneratorfromexposuretoincorrectoperatinggas
pressureorexcessivepressureuctuations,whichmayleadto
damagetoelectroniccircuitryandtheozonecell.Forappli-
cationswherepressureuctuationsarepossible,westrongly
recommendtheinstallationofabuffertankwithanappropri-
atehi-lowpressureswitch.ItisVERY IMPORTANT to protect
theOzoneGeneratorfromanypossiblecontaminationfrom
theoxygenconcentratororozoneinjectionsidebyinstalling
appropriatelters,anti-ood,andothercontamination-re-
strictingdevicesupstream/downstreamfromthegenerator.
Compressedairsuppliedtotheoxygenconcentratorshould
befreeofoilvapors.
2E. Remote Control
Absolute Ozone®ozonegeneratorsareequippedwithstandard
“On/Off”remotecontrolterminals thatcan be controlledre-
motelybytheoperator,ambientozonemonitor,orPLC.

• Remote control of ozone production level can be
achievedby4-20mAat10Vsignal.Thefunctionofthis
powercontrolisnotlinear.
• RemoteOn/Off.RemoteSwitchmustbenormallyopen
for the generator to be “On” and closed to stop the
Ozone production.
• That switch has to be connected to dry contacts only
(notconnectedtogroundorconnectedtoanyvoltage
sourceACorDC)
• RemoteOzoneGeneratorstatusindicator.

3A. LCD Control Panel Overview
Hereisageneraldescriptionofthecontrollerandthefea-
turesitoffers:
AllAbsoluteOzone®generatorscomewith4-20mA10V
remotepowerlevelcontrolasastandardfeaturethatal-
lowsadjustingpowergoingtotheozonecellremotelyto
a required level that is later automatically maintained by
acontrolsystem,regardlessofminorvoltageorpressure
deviations.
Internal iOzone intelligent diagnostic/controller system
protectsAbsoluteOzone®generatorsfromthefollowing
potentialproblems:
• Incorrectwiringorvoltageappliedtotheremotecontrol
terminals.
• Incorrectpower applied inthe specied range(too low,
toohigh)
• Incorrectoperatingpressure.
• Ozonecellcontaminationbywaterorsimilar.
• Bad feed gas quality (too much humidity, or contamina-
tion)
• Overheatingorfailureofthecoolingsystem,etc.
Power saving Mode:Afterafewminutesofinactivity,the
LCDscreenswitchestoapower-savingmodeandshutsoff
toconserveenergy.(Thisdoesnotaffectthegenerator’sper-
formance).Ifyouwanttoleavethepower-savingmode,you
cantouchthescreenatanypointtoturnONtheLCD.

• SelectedorExpectedpowersetting%,soyouwillbe
abletoseeonthescreenpowerselectedbytheremote
control or slider.
• Actualpower%&Wattgoingtoanozonecell.
• ThecellvoltageV.
• Current Amp going to the ozone cell
• Gaspressureinsidetheozonecell.
• Temperatureinsidetheozonecell.
• TheLCDscreenwillallowbytouchtoswitchthegen-
eratoron and offand toadjust the desiredpower by
movingtheslideronthescreenwithyournger.
• Indication of power setting signal (LCD/RC - remote
control).

• In the event that incorrect operating parameters are
appliedtotheozonegeneratortheunitisswitchedoff
bytheOzoneintelligentdiagnosticcontrolsystem,and
the LCD screen will indicate which of the parameters
causedthegeneratorshutdown.
• Inasafetyshutdownmodethegeneratorwillbecon-
stantly monitoring operating parameters and the mo-
menttheyarecorrectedthegeneratorwillrestartauto-
matically,withoutanyassistance.
• I.e.ifthereisapowerspikeorifthereisapressuredrop
causedbytemporarypowerfailureandinterruptionof
oxygen supply, the moment the pressure or supplied
voltageisrestoredtonormal,thegeneratorwillrestart
andwillproduceozoneagain.
3B. System Startup
1. MakesuretheOzoneGeneratorenclosureissecurelyat-
tachedtoanappropriateframeorwallOzoneGenerators
Stack.
2. Make sure all connections to the generator, power, and
gasaremadeaccordingtolocalcodesandregulations.
3. Purgethegeneratorwith90%orhigherconcentrationox-
ygenandassureafreeowofoxygenthroughthesystem
and removal of contaminants. Conduct system leak test
applyingworkingpressure+/-10%usingoxygenonly.Ad-
justgaspressureacrossthecellaccordingtospecications
usingadownstreamControlValve(ontheowmeter)and
pressuregauge(suppliedbytheinstaller).
4. Plugthesystemintoaspeciedreceptacle.
5. FlipthePowerSwitchintothe“ON”position.
6. Slidethereddotonthepowercontrolsliderupwardsto
adjust to desired power from 0-100% according to sup-
plied “Ozone Generator Performance Test” chart. Now
thegeneratorisatoptimumproductionmodeandozone
shouldbeowingthroughthesystem.

3C. System Shutdown
1. Slidethereddotonthepowercontrolsliderdownwardsto
adjustpowerfrom0%.(Noozoneisproducedatthistime.)
2. SwitchthepowerswitchtotheOFFposition.
3. Unplugthesystemfromthepowersourceifrequired.
4. ClosedownthedownstreamControlValve(locatedonthe
owmeter -supplied by installer) toprotecttheunit from
accidentalooding.
5. Turntheoxygensourceoff.
3D. Standard Operating Procedures
NOTE:Toassurealongtrouble-freeservicelifefortheozone
Generator,providethefollowingoperatingconditions:
• Makesurethattheoxygenconcentratorismaintainedprop-
erlyandisproducingoxygenatgreaterthan90%purityand
less than -60°Cdew point. Check sieve conditions and re-
placeitasoftenasrecommendedbythemanufacturer
• Installanoxygenlterandoxygendryerbetweentheoxy-
genconcentratorandtheOzoneGenerator,checkthecon-
ditionandreplacethecartridgetoprotectOzoneGenerator
fromsieveparticlesincaseofoxygengeneratorfailureand
moisture.
• Makesuretomaintainworkingpressureacrossozonecells
asspeciedforthegeneratorprotectionandmostefcient
production.
• Wheninjectingozoneintowatermakesuretoprotectthe
generator from ooding by installing a device capable of
preventingwaterbackup.Checkvalvesusuallystartleaking
after a few days of operation in ozone and cause serious
damage to the ozone cell. We recommend using devices,
whichcouldautomaticallydrainwateroutoftheozoneline
andstopitfromenteringtheozonecell.

4A Preventative Maintenance
Generally,AbsoluteOzone®ismaintenance-freealthoughitis
usefultochecktheOzoneGeneratorforproperoperation:
1. MakesuretherearenowarningsontheLCDscreen.
2. Inspectvisuallyallgas,powerandsignalcables,andcon-
nectors
3. Makesurethatallairventsarenotobstructed.
4B. Troubleshooting
Knowledge of electrical applications is required for trouble-
shooting. Contact a certied electrician if you are unsure of
yourabilitytoservicetheequipment.Ifanyproblempersists,
pleasecall(+1)780-486-3761.Wewillhaveoneofoursystem
engineersdiscussyoursituationwithyouoverthephone.
Monthly:
1. Makesurethatallsystemequipment(oxygenconcentra-
tor,aircompressor,etc.)ismaintainedaccordingtothe
manufacturer
2. Removeandreplaceorcleanltercartridgesandother
devicesifinstalledandrequired.
3. Perform general cleaning of cabinet exterior after dis-
connectingtheequipmentfromtheelectricalsource.
4. Using clean/dry compressed air, or a vacuum cleaner
blowouttheinteriororvacuumthecabinet,takingspe-
cialcarearoundelectroniccomponentsandwiring.

Symptom (Warning Message):
• INCORRECT REMOTE CONTROL VOLTAGE
Pleasemakesurethevoltageyouhavesuppliedtothere-
motecontrol(4-20MAsignal)isnothigherthan10V.
• OZONE CELL CONTAMINATION.
Theozonesensordetectedozonecellcontaminationbywa-
terorpossiblysomeotherconductiveliquids.Pleaseswitch
the ozone generator off, locate and eliminate the source
of the contamination. While having power off run oxygen
throughtheozonecellforseveraldaystodrytheliquidand/
orothercontaminantsoutandthentrytorestarttheozone
generator.
• SYSTEM COMMUNICATION PROBLEMIfafterseveralat-
temptsdoesnotrestart,pleasecontactustechnicalsupport
• OZONE SENSOR PROBLEM
Ifafterseveralattemptsdoesnotrestart,pleasecontactus
fortechnicalsupport

• OZONE CELL PRESSURE TOO LOW
Please make sure there are no restrictions on the oxygen
linecomingtotheozonegeneratorandthattheowisonly
adjusted on the ozone line after the ozone generator to
maintaincorrectworkingpressure,ifthepressureistoolow
duetoanincorrectlysetpressureregulatororfailureofox-
ygengenerators,pleaserectifytheproblemandtheozone
generatorwillcontinueoperation.
• OZONE CELL PRESSURE TOO HIGH
Pleaseadjusttheoxygenpressureregulatortothespecied
pressureandthatwillrectifythisproblemandwarningmes-
sage.
• OZONE CELL TEMPERATURE TO HIGH
Makesurethattheambienttemperatureintheinstallation
roomisbelow25c,andcheckthatthereisgoodunrestricted
coolingairowthroughtheozonegenerator(notobstruct-
edoneithersideofcoolinggrills).pleasemakesurethatthe
coolingfanisworkingproperly.incaseofthecoolingfanfail-
ure,pleasecontacttechnicalsupportforfurtherinstructions
• SUPPLY VOLTAGE TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW
Please make sure that the voltage supplied to the ozone
generatorisasspecied+/-5%inordertocorrecttheprob-
lem.ifthevoltagesuppliedisasspeciedandtheproblem
persists,pleasecontactourservicedepartment
