1. Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of a Tanker watch tank monitor. This equipment has been
designed and manufactured to meet the needs of a discriminating buyer.
Safe, efficient and trouble-free operation requires that you and anyone else who will be operating
or maintaining the washer, read and understand this manual.
Use of the equipment outside of the intended use, or without written approval from Abts
Equipment is not covered by our performance guarantee, nor will damages caused be covered
by our warranty.
Abts Equipment cannot be held liable for consequential damages, including, but not limited to,
loss of production, personal injury or property loss.
Installation, setup, operation, maintenance and repairs must be performed by qualified personnel
only.

Operational Hazards
Carefully read all safety messages in this manual and on equipment safety signs. Keep safety
signs in good condition and replace missing or damaged safety signs.
New equipment components and repair parts must include the current safety decal.
Learn how to properly operate equipment. NEVER operate or work around this equipment without
proper instruction, while fatigued or under the influence of alcohol, prescription or non-prescription
medication or if feeling ill.
Keep your equipment in proper working condition.
Know the regulations and laws that apply to you and your industry. This manual is not to replace
any regulations or laws. If you do not understand any part of this manual, contact Abts
Equipment at 920-866-2485.
Prepare for E ergencies
Be prepared in case of emergencies.
Keep a fire extinguisher and first aid kit close to the machine.
Keep emergency phone numbers close to your phone.
Know your address so emergency services can locate you if an emergency arises.

Maintenance Hazards
Before performing service, maintenance or adjustments, lockout power source.
Always wear face and/or eye protection, safety shoes, and other protective equipment appropriate
for the job. Follow company stated safety procedures and policies.
Always use Abts Equipment replacement parts.

Do not alter or modify machine in any way. Altering or modifying may cause your equipment to
be unsafe and may void the manufacturers’ warranty.
Contact Abts Equipment before altering or modifying equipment.

3. Installation
Installation Require ents
•115 VAC 5 Amp Electrical Requirements
•Install flowmeter
•Install proximity sensors
•Install control cabinet
Position Machine
•Position control box near tank on the wall in a dry location

Electrical Connection
Electrical installation must be performed by a qualified electrical technician.
•The Tanker Watch
requires 10 Amps of 115VAC or 240VAC.
•Wire Line 1 and Neutral to the Disconnect switch.
•Refer to wire schematic for proper wiring

Install Proximity Sensor
oWhen proximity sensor is active that tank is currently recording/filling with
product.
oMaximum distance away from valve handle is 0.25”.
Wire proximity sensor to orange IFM
AL1122 module
•Prox 1 is port X03
•Prox 2 is port X04
•Prox 3 is port X05
•Prox 4 is port X06

Install Flowmeter
oInstall the unit so that the measuring pipe is completely filled.
oInstall correct inlet and outlet pipe lengths.
oDisturbances caused by bends, valves, reductions, etc. are not allowed.
ono shut-off and control devices are allowed directly in front of the unit.
oIf installed in an ungrounded pipe system, the unit must be grounded (functional earth).

oTemperature is measured by the flowmeter

Tanker watch wiring
Alarms output
•Tanker watch has an alarm system that can alert workers if there is a problem with the
milking process. Lights and horns can be installed in the parlor area to alert workers.
These alarms can be configured in tank alarm settings page.
•The outputs are wired to relays that are located inside electrical cabinet.
•Refer to schematic for proper wiring.
oOutput 0= tank full alarm
oOutput 1= system in wash signal
oOutput 2= any alarm acti e
oOutput 3= hot temp alarm
oOutput 4= cold temp alarm
oOutput 5= al e open in wash alarm

Inputs
•Silence alarm input:
oThis input will silence all alarms for the time in the configurable setting. This
input requires +24VDC
•Wash in progress input:
oThis input is required when washing the piping system. This input requires
+24VDC. This signal will ensure that wash water is not added to the tanker load
amount.

4. Screen Navigation

•Once control box is mounted and wired, power on machine.
•Power on machine by turning main power switch to the on position.

Tank alar settings
Login is required to be able to make setting changes.
Serious damages can occur if a setting is incorrectly. Properly trained personnel are only
allowed to adjust settings. Please keep login credentials discrete.
The login info is:
User= Service
Password= service22
•Full tank volume:
oAt the set volume amount, the tank watcher will send an alarm.
•High temp set point:
oAt this temperature the tanker watch will send out an alarm.
•Low temp set point:
oAt this temperature the tanker watch will send out an alarm.
•Silence alarm time:
oThis is the amount of time an alarm will be silenced when silence alarm button is
activated.
•High temp delay:
oThis is a delay time before a high temp alarm is activated.
•Low temp delay:
oThis is a delay time before a low temp alarm is activated.
•Tanker valve closed during wash delay:
oThis is a delay time of a valve being closed during a wash cycle.
•Start of milking alarm delay:
oThis delay time will delay all alarms at the start of milking.

Factory
Factory settings are only for the service technician.
Login is required to be able to make setting changes.
Serious damages can occur if a setting is incorrectly. Properly trained personnel are only
allowed to adjust settings. Please keep login credentials discrete.

Calibrations
Flow rate
•Calibration of the flow rate requires a high and a low calibration.
•To calibrate low:
oturn milking system pump off
owait 2 minutes for the signal number to stabilize
oenter signal number into the low box
oenter the GPM reading on the flow meter in the low flow box
•To calibrate high:
oturn milking system pump on high
owait 2 minutes for the signal number to stabilize
oenter the signal number into the high box
oenter the GPM reading on the flow meter in the high flow box
•Press set values to save calibration
