Use of the thermometer
1.1 Sensors
•There is a switch located on the right hand side (when looking at the front of the
thermometer). That will switch between the ‘in’ and ‘out’ sensors.
•The ‘in’ sensor reads the temperature measured by the sensor in the body of the
thermometer.
•The ‘out’ sensor reads the temperature measured by the sensor in the magnetic rubber
disc.
1.2 Taking the measurement
•To read the ambient temperature, set the thermometer’s switch to display the ‘in’ sensor.
•To read rail temperature attach the ‘copper disc’ sensor to the object and set the
thermometers switch to read the ‘out’ sensor.
1.3 Replacing the battery
To replace the battery slide the battery door located on the back of the thermometer.
•Battery type: AAA or UM 4
1.4 Light
When there is insufficient light during use, the thermometer’s display can by illuminated by holding
the light button down, this is situated on the front of the thermometer below the ˚C or ˚F switch.
Although the rail sensor is insulated from ambient temperature, the best results are obtained if the
sensor is out of direct sunlight.
Care of thermometer
To clean the thermometer and disc, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents.
