Introduction
Please read these instructions comprehensively before attempting to use this instrument and if
you have any queries, please contact us at AUS Controls for support. Our contact details are at
the end of this manual.
Thank you for purchasing this product which has been completely designed, manufactured, and
tested in Australia and is supported by an Australian company.
The SPC-01 controller is a sophisticated device to control air pressure in the range of +/-2000
Pascals and is suited for applications where differential pressure control is required such as for
instance, pressure in a vehicle cabin or a room or for pressure control in ducts or across

filtration systems. This instrument is not suitable for measuring liquid pressure and doing so
will cause irreparable damage.
The SPC-01 controller comes complete with a DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) with an
output between the range of 1.6v to 10v which when used in conjunction with a speed-controlled
device such a vehicle cabin air pressuriser or inverter, it is capable of controlling pressure up to
1000 Pascals. For vehicle cabin pressure control 50 Pascals is usually the preferred working
pressure.
2.
Specifications
This instrument is designed to operate in the voltage range of 12 to 24vdc and the internal
Power Supply is capable of operating at up to 50vdc for short durations which makes it ideal for
automotive applications, awhile only consuming 40mA of power at 24vdc and 20mA of power at
12vdc.
Please note: This instrument is not designed to operate with AC voltages!
Pressure measurement is achieved through a 14-bit digital differential pressure sensor with the
capability of reading pressure up to +/- 2000 Pascals. The sensor burst pressure is 10,000
Pascals.
Please note: Do not blow air using your mouth or use compressed air on either of the ports to
test this instrument as those pressures will cause permanent damage to the sensor and will
void your instrument warranty!
3.
Standard Equipment
The SPC-01 controller is supplied as standard with the following features:
a) Pressure measurement to +/- 2000 pascals with 1 pascal resolution.
b) DAC output (1.6 to 10v) with pressure control from 1 to 1000 Pascals.
c) Factory adjustable pressure setpoint from 10 to 1000 Pascals.
d) Factory pressure calibration for zero and span.
4.
Electrical wiring
This instrument electrical wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician! Although the
voltages involved are low, there is still a significant risk of electrical shock and possible
electrical fire and damage to electrical wiring if it is not carried out correctly. If in doubt, please
seek assistance and ensure the installation is safe for use!
Please use an in-line fuse rated at a maximum of 1A on the +12/24V input to the controller for
protection to the controller and cabling.

Below is a typical installation wiring to a 12 to 24vdc power supply.
Red cable = +12 to 24V supply
Black cable = Supply ground (negative battery terminal)
Yellow cable = 1.6 to 10v DAC control output
Green pipe = Positive pressure input
Black pipe = Negative pressure input or static pipe
5.
Installation
The SPC-01 controller is provided with two mounting slots suitable for M3 screws for mounting
onto a flat vertical surface. Although orientation is not critical for operation, it is suggested that
vertical mounting is generally used.
6.
Functions
This controller is ready to operate the moment it is connected to power. The output
automatically modulates to maintain pressure at the desired pre-programmed setpoint.
7.
System settings
This controller has no system settings available although pressure setpoint can be programmed
during manufacture of this unit so please specify during ordering.
•Zero Calibration:
Is carried out during manufacture and can be performed again at our factory
at any time in the future if so required.
•Span Calibration:
Is carried out during manufacture and can be performed again at our factory
at any time in the future if so required.
•Output: The DAC output is set to operate in the range of 1.6 to 10.0v. If the output needs to be
capped at a lower voltage within the range of 1.6 and 10.0V please specify when ordering.

8.
DAC Control
The DAC output is fully automatic therefore there are no user adjustable parameters.
Please note:
If this system is used in a vehicle to control cabin pressure, ensure that the static
pipe is placed in a position where it is out of direct air flow when the vehicle is moving at speed
as this will result in pressure reading fluctuations due to varying pressures detected on the
static pipe.
9.
Precautions
Handling:
This is a very sensitive instrument with delicate internal electronics so careful
handling is highly recommended.
Transport:
When transporting, please ensure that adequate packaging is used to reduce the
chances of damage to this instrument.
Mounting:
Always mount this instrument in a safe location unlikely to be knocked or hit and
ensure adequate cable protection to reduce the chances of it being cut or damaged during
normal operation.
Do not mount near water or where it is likely to suffer from condensation or moisture as that
can cause irreparable damage to the internal electronics.
10.
Warranty
All our products come with a standard warranty period of 12 months from the date of purchase, against any
manufacturing faults or defects and can be replaced free of charge at our Springwood facility in Queensland if
proved to be a manufacturing fault.
We will not be responsible or liable for any damages caused to or for loss of machinery, equipment, production
costs, shipping, or handling in the event of a unit failure and will not be liable for any third-party claims.
Our warranty does not cover faulty controllers due to improper or faulty installations, bad or wrong electrical wiring
and excessive voltages leading to electronic or electrical damage or physical shock due to the device being dropped
or installed in an area with excessive vibration and does not cover the pressure sensor failure when the pressure or
application exceeds those parameters stated in these instructions.
