4. System Setup
1. Connect docking station to power.
2. Connect docking station to your computer[a][b]
• Connect the ThunderboltTM 3 port on your laptop to the ThunderboltTM 3 port with
laptop charging icon on the docking station using the included ThunderboltTM 3
cable or a certified cable with the ThunderboltTM 3 logo.
Note:
a. Your computer will ask for authentication of new attached ThunderboltTM device.
See section 7 for details.
b. Before using the dock station, check the firmware and software of ThunderboltTM 3
in your computer is the latest version. Checking Procedure is in Section 8.
Warning:
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or damage to the equipment, use only the
power adapter included with the docking station.

4. System Setup
1. Connect docking station to power.
2. Connect docking station to your computer[a][b]
• Connect the ThunderboltTM 3 port on your laptop to the ThunderboltTM 3 port with
laptop charging icon on the docking station using the included ThunderboltTM 3
cable or a certified cable with the ThunderboltTM 3 logo.
Note:
a. Your computer will ask for authentication of new attached ThunderboltTM device.

b. Before using the dock station, check the firmware and software of ThunderboltTM 3
in your computer is the latest version. Checking Procedure is in Section 8.

3. Install driver
• The necessary drivers for this dock will be automatically installed. For ThunderboltTM
3 driver, please contact the manufacturer of your computer for latest ThunderboltTM 3
driver or software.

6. Multi-Display[a]
ThunderboltTM 3 supports DP Alternate Mode over USB-CTM. The docking station supports up
to two displays. The following table is the resolution supported for each port.
Note:
a. The number of displays that are natively supported over a ThunderboltTM 3 dock
depends on the design of the laptop. It is not changeable by software or a
ThunderboltTM 3 dock.

7. Thunderbolt 3 Authentication
1. When a new ThunderboltTM device is connected, the message will show up at bottom
right corner. Click “OK”.
2. After Click “OK”, the following message will show up asking if user allow this app to
make change to the computer. Click “Yes”.
3. User should see the following window after clicking “Yes” in previous window. Make sure
the connected device is “XXX, Thunderbolt 3 Dock”.
4. Click drop down menu and select “Always Connect”.

7. Thunderbolt 3 Authentication
1. When a new ThunderboltTM device is connected, the message will show up at bottom
right corner. Click “OK”.
2. After Click “OK”, the following message will show up asking if user allow this app to
make change to the computer. Click “Yes”.
3. User should see the following window after clicking “Yes” in previous window. Make sure
the connected device is “XXX, Thunderbolt 3 Dock”.
4. Click drop down menu and select “Always Connect”.

8. Check Firmware and Software Version
1. In the system tray, right click on the ThunderboltTM icon.
2. In the list, select “Settings”.
3. Select “Details” in the Settings.
4. Check software and firmware version, contact your laptop maker for firmware information.
