Pull down the central
test button to release
a test strip.

Use the Softclix Plus finger
pricker to get a blood
sample (see overleaf).
Hold meter so the test strip
is pointing downwards.
Touch the drop of blood
against the black notch at
the front of the test strip.
An hourglass displays
when sufficient blood
is sucked in.

Everday testing
Result will appear
on the display.
Pull button to eject
the used test strip.

Open drum
compartment cover.

Press the red button to
release the drum.

Inserting or replacing
a test strip drum
Insert the new test
strip drum nose down.

Tip the meter
forwards, the test
strip drum drops out.

Accu-Chek Compact Plus comes with batteries pre-installed, and the date and time pre-set.
Accu-Chek Compact Plus will automatically code on insertion of the test strip drum.

PRESS to prick
Place the finger pricker
against the chosen test
site, press the plunger
down again until it clicks
to obtain a sample.*

PRESS to eject lancet
Remove the end cap
from the finger pricker.
Press the plunger to
eject the used lancet.

Easy everyday testing
1Press the plunger at
the top end of the
finger pricker all the
way down. The plunger
returns about a third
of the way. The finger
pricker is now primed.
PRESS to prime
To load/eject lancet
1Remove the end
cap from the
finger pricker.
3Slide the new lancet in
the lancet holder and
push it in until it clicks.
Remove the protective
cap from the lancet
with a twisting
motion.
Press the end cap back
on to the finger pricker.
The cap snaps into
place with a click.
2Press the plunger to
eject the used lancet.
5Twist end cap to adjust
depth setting of the
finger pricker.
SAFETY ADVICE: The Accu-Chek Softclix
Plus finger pricker is intended for patient
self monitoring by an individual person only.
It must not be used to collect blood from more
than one person as it does not incorporate
any features to guard against cross-infection.
*Finger pricks are less painful if a new lancet is used for each test.
