5. Setting Up Your Equipment (continued)
Thickness and Diameter coin selectors
Before beginning with the counting operation, the user must set up the
specific thickness and diameter for the coin denomination to be counted.
Adjust the Thickness and the Diameter knobs based on the following
information:
a. The circular labels show the specific positions for USD coins
(D - dimes / P - pennies / N - nickels / Q - quarters / H - half dollar / $
- $1 coin).
b. The labels also include marks in millimeters (1 mm steps) as
reference for any other international coin size or tokens.
c. Coins with smaller sizes than the one set up will be rejected.
d. Avoid coins with larger sizes than the one set up; they could jam the
machine.

14
6. Operation
6.1 Basic Counting Operation
The coins to be counted must be presorted before depositing them into the
hopper. All of them must be the same size and thickness to ensure a hassle-
free count.
1. After installing the hopper tray holders (they will prevent damage to the
tray due to the weight of the coins), connect the unit to the electric outlet
and turn it on using the power switch.
2. Adjust both the Diameter and Thickness knobs to the exact setting
according to the size of the coin denomination to be counted.
3. Ensure the lateral rejecting tray/tube, as well as the bag to collect the
coins, are properly in position.
4. Pour the coins into the internal hopper. Do not exceed capacity. Use the
external hopper tray if necessary.
5. Press the START to begin the count.
6. The equipment will stop either when the preset batch amount is reached
or by pressing START / STOP again.

15
6. Operation (continued)
6.2 Sorting / Counting
The AB610 allows you to count mixed coins of different denominations
(different sizes). This operating mode must be carried out by sorting the
largest diameter coins first and separating the smaller diameter coins into a
bag. Once done, the user must adjust now the next largest diameter, then pour
rejected coins back into the hopper. Repeat this process until all coin
denominations have been sorted.
1. Ensure the lateral rejection tube and collecting bag are properly in place.
2. Adjust the Diameter and Thickness knobs according to the largest coin
present in the bulk. The sorting procedure must start with the largest coin
size and finish with the smallest coin size.
3. Pour the coins you need to count into the internal hopper. Do not exceed
the capacity. Use the external hopper if necessary.
4. Press the START / STOP key to begin counting.
5. The largest coin will be sorted at the end of the first cycle. Readjust the
Diameter and Thickness knobs for the next coin size (largest size first).

16
6. Operation (continued)
6.2 Sorting / Counting (continued)
US coins must be sorted in the following order:
- Half dollar coins
- One-dollar coins
- Quarters
- Nickels
- Pennies
- Dimes
6. Repeat the process until reaching the smallest size coin.
7. The equipment will stop either when the preset batch amount is reached
or by pressing the START / STOP key again.

17
6. Operation (continued)
6.3 Packaging (with packaging tubes accessories, NOT
INCLUDED)
Coins can be packaged directly into coin wrappers following these
instructions:
1. Choose the coin wrapper and plastic packaging tube according to the coin
denomination to be counted.
2. Insert the coin wrapper into the packaging tube and place both beneath
the unit’s coin exit.
3. Set up the batching number according to the coin’s denomination to
count.
4. Start the count.

18
7. Jamming
Facing a jamming event
To ensure that the equipment operates with optimal performance as well as to
prevent jamming, avoid the following:
- Counting bent or damaged coins or tokens
- Counting any type of foreign object like clips, staples, paper, nylon,
rubber bands, etc.
If any jamming occurs, the equipment will stop counting and will move the
turning plate in reverse to remove the coin or object jammed inside the
mechanism. If the equipment was not able to remove the jammed object by
itself, proceed as follows:
1. Carefully take out the
adjustment knob cover
2. Pull up the conveyor belt
mechanism as shown in Figures
A and B
3. Inspect the coin’s track and
remove the jammed object
4. Return the conveyor belt
mechanism to its proper
position
5. Replace the adjustment knob
cover

19
8. Daily Maintenance / Error Code Messages
1. Turn the power switch OFF when the last count has been completed.
2. Clean the coin track and counting sensor surface. Remove the metallic
debris that may be deposited during the counting operation. (Use an air
duster).
3. If the equipment shows a noticeable change in performance, or you are
experiencing technical problems, please contact your local dealer for
technical support.
