To ensure proper installation and operation of your Guardian Monitor™ Conventional
Manifold/Alarm System, please read these instructions thoroughly before beginning installation.
INTRODUCTION
The Guardian Monitor™ Conventional Manifold/Alarm System is complete once the enclosed
Manifold Package is installed.
Follow the "Alarm" installation instructions for the appropriate model. The available models
are identified in the Table of Contents.

1. Take main manifold from the shipping carton and separate manifold cover from the main mani-
fold block.
2. Remove the brass caps from both the nitrous oxide gas line (left) and the oxygen gas line (right)
that are located in the tank room.
3. Remove the red caps from the outlet fittings at the top of the main manifold and attach the main
manifold to the gas lines using the DISS fittings.
ote: Use 2 wrenches when tightening the fittings.
4. Using the three 1/2-inch screws, secure the main manifold to the wall through the mounting holes
in the main manifold block. The manifold must be installed a minimum of five feet from the floor.
ote: When studs are not available to secure the manifold block directly to the wall, a
mounting board 18 inches wide, 4 inches tall and 1 inch thick (secured to the wall studs)
is recommended.
5. Remove the red cap from the light gray cable and plug the cable into the connector (cable port) at
the top of the main manifold circuit board. Push the cable connector into the port until there is a
click and the cable connector cannot be pulled out of the port.

II. TANK CYLINDER RESTRAINTS
Center the tank restraint's mounting brackets directly beneath the main manifold and attach them to
the wall 40 inches up from the floor. When attaching the tank restraint brackets, locate wall studs and
secure the brackets to the wall using the 3 1/2-inch black screws.
ote: When studs are not available to secure the brackets directly to the wall, it is
recommended that a mounting board 48 to 60 inches wide, 4 inches tall and 1 inch thick
be secured to the wall studs.
Arrange gas tanks in the tank restraints with the nitrous oxide tanks to the left and the oxygen tanks
to the right.
1. Take the nitrous oxide pressure regulator(s) from the shipping carton and remove the red cap(s)
from the DISS gas fitting(s).
2. Attach the nitrous oxide pressure regulator(s) to the
nitrous oxide gas tank(s). Position the regulator(s) to
the left of the gas tank(s), in such a manner that the
pressure gauge(s) can be easily read.
3. Take the oxygen pressure regulators from the ship-
ping carton and remove the red caps from the DISS
gas fittings.
4. Attach the oxygen pressure regulators to the 2 oxygen
gas tanks. Position the regulators to the left of the gas
tanks, in such a manner that the pressure gauges can
be easily read.

IV. DISS HOSES
1. Attach one end of the blue hose with DISS connector to the DISS fitting at the far left side of the
bottom of the main manifold. Attach the other end of the hose to the fitting on the nitrous oxide
regulator.
ote: If system is a 2 x 2 manifold, in the same manner attach the second blue hose to
the second open fitting at the far left side of the bottom of the main manifold. Attach
the other end of the hose to the open fitting on the nitrous oxide regulator.
2. Attach one end of the green hose with DISS connector to the DISS fitting closest to the center of
the bottom of the manifold. Attach the other end of the hose to the fitting on the oxygen regulator.
3. Attach the second green hose to the open fitting on the manifold and attach the other end of the
hose to the fitting on the oxygen regulator.
ote: Use 2 wrenches when tightening the fittings.
Desk Mount Alarm Installation - Models #3 003, #3 005 and #34065
1. Take the desk alarm unit, the cable connection receptacle box and the receptacle box faceplate from
the shipping carton and remove their plastic wraps.
2. Select an appropriate location for the desk alarm unit.
3. Attach receptacle box to wall studs.
ote: The receptacle box and the desk alarm unit must be located with 12 feet
of each other.
4. Thread the gray cable through one of the knockout holes in the receptacle box. eep 6 to 8 inches
of the end of the cable coiled inside the box.
5. To prevent joint compound and other debris from getting into the receptacle box during building
construction, cover the box opening with masking or duct tape (seal tape at receptacle box mud
ring).
6. Run the length of the gray cable to the tank room. Coil the end of the hose a minimum of 6 to 8
inches at the end of the oxygen gas line in the tank room.
7. Anchor the running gray cable to the studs and to the frame of the building.

V. DESK MOUNT ALARM

8. Remove the red cap from the gray cable that was left coiled inside the receptacle box (in step 4).
Connect the gray cable to the cable port on the back of the receptacle box faceplate. Push the cable
connector into the port until there is a click and the cable connector cannot be pulled out of the port.
9. Attach the faceplate to the receptacle box with the 2 white screws.
10. Position the desk mount alarm unit in the desired location (within 12 feet of the receptacle outlet)
and connect the cable to the receptacle outlet by pushing the cable connector into the port until
there is a click and the cable connector cannot be pulled out of the port.
Wall Mount Alarm Installation - Models #3 002, #3 004 and #34064
1. Select an appropriate location for the wall alarm unit to be installed. The wall alarm should be
installed at a convenient height for viewing and operating (approximately 5 feet from the floor).
2. Attach the wall alarm's receptacle box to wall studs at desired height from the floor.
3. Thread the gray cable through one of the knockout holes in the receptacle box. eep 6 to 8 inches
of the end of the cable coiled inside the box.
4. To prevent joint compound and other debris from getting into the alarm's receptacle box during
building construction, cover the receptacle box opening with masking or duct tape (seal tape at
receptacle box mud ring).
5. Run the length of the gray cable to the tank room. Coil the end of the hose a minimum of 6 to 8
inches at the end of the oxygen gas line in the tank room.
6. Anchor the running gray cable to the studs and to the frame of the building.

7. Take the wall alarm unit from the shipping carton and remove the plastic wrap. Separate the face-
plate from the alarm unit by pushing the center pin of the two-part white snap rivet out from the
backside of the faceplate's aluminum sub plate. The aluminum sub plate remains attached to the
alarm unit.
ote: Pushing the center pin of the rivet from the front of the faceplate could scratch
the faceplate.
8. Remove the red cap from the gray cable that was left coiled inside the receptacle box (in step 3).
Connect the gray cable to the cable port on the back of the alarm unit's sub plate. Push the cable
connector into the port until there is a click and the cable connector cannot be pulled out of the port.

9. Push the cable back into the receptacle box and carefully slip the circuit board inside the box.
Fasten the aluminum sub plate to the outlet box using the enclosed four flat-head Phillips screws.
10. Position the faceplate over the aluminum sub plate and insert the flared portion of the two-part
rivet through the faceplate and aluminum subplate.
1. Remove power supply with cable from the shipping carton.
2. Plug the power supply transformer into a 120-volt outlet that is within 5 feet of the main manifold.
3. Plug the power supply connector to the receptacle at the top of the manifold circuit board.
VII. POWER SUPPLY
Complete System Installation Steps Include:
1. Run oxygen, nitrous piping.
2. Install outlet stations in designated areas.
3. Check outlets for crossed gas lines.
4. Perform piping leak tests.
5. Complete installation of Manifold Package.
General System Requirements:
1. Remote tank rooms must be kept locked. A zone valve is required when manifold is installed in a
remote location.
2. Natural vent openings free space shall be a minimum of 72 sq. inches.
3. Use 1/2" O.D. tubing for oxygen lines.
4. Use 3/8" O.D. for nitrous oxide lines.
5. Type or L copper tubing, seamless AR copper tubing or standard weight brass piping is required.
6. Copper-to-copper joints are to be made using copper phosphorous brazing filler without flux
(reference: ANSI/AWS A5.8 specification for brazing filler material).
7. Piping must be continuous purged with dry nitrogen during brazing.
8. DO NOT USE OIL OR GREASE.
9. Run nitrogen gas through oxygen line and check each oxygen and nitrous oxide outlet to verify that
the nitrogen gas only comes out of the oxygen line outlet (this is a check that is preformed to elimi-
nate the possibility of crossed gas lines).
10. Test piping for leaks at 150 psig for a 24-hour pressure test.
The installation of gas storage must be in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association
Standards and inspected by the local fire department to assure compliance with the NFPA. All infor-
mation provided is intended to assist in the installation of the medical gas system, it is not intended
to be complete or eliminate the need to reference NFPA 99 regulations.

IX. SYSTEM TEST (CONDUCTED BY INSTALLER PRIOR TO USE)
1. Turn system on by depressing the on/off button on the wall or desk alarm.
2. Press the test button - all four lights should blink and the audible alarm should sound. To turn off
audible alarm press cancel button.
Problem
High/low pressure alarm doesn’t work
Possible solutions
• Pressure switches not plugged in securely at manifold
• Pressure switch (O2and/or N2O) requires adjustment
• Gray cable run from the wall or desk alarm was damaged during construction

No lights on wall or desk alarm

• Power supply not plugged into manifold

WARRANTY TERMS
Limited Warranty and Disclaimer: Accutron (“Seller”) warrants that its product will be free from manufac-
turing defects subject to the terms, conditions, and limitation set forth hereinafter, for a period of 1 year for
manifolds and 1 year for other equipment products. Seller’s obligations under this limited warranty are
contingent on Buyer’s full payment of the product purchase price. Except as specifically set forth above,
Seller and its affiliates make no warranties, expressed or implied, and specifically disclaim any warranties
of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
The liability of Seller and its affiliates for any claims, losses, damages, or expenses from any cause whatso-
ever (including acts or omissions of third parties) regardless of the form of the action, whether in tort, con-
tract, or otherwise, shall not exceed the repair cost, replacement cost, or purchase price of the product that
directly gives rise to the claim. Seller and its affiliates shall not be liable for any incidental, special, reliance,
consequential, or indirect loss or damage rising out of this agreement or the products. As used in this para-
graph, consequential damages include, but are not limited to, lost profits, lost revenues, property damage,
personal injury damage to the Purchaser or third parties, loss of business or profits, and/or loss of business
reputation. It is the sole responsibility of Purchaser to determine the suitability of the products for the
Purchaser’s intended use. Seller’s obligation to repair, replace or refund, as set forth above shall be Buyer’s
exclusive remedy.
This warranty constitutes the entire warranty. This warranty and Seller’s liability hereunder shall be con-
strued according to the laws of the State of Arizona without regard to conflict of lay principles. To activate
the Manifold Warranty, complete and mail the warranty registration card that accompanies Manifold.
Accutron warranties are subject to the following conditions: Accutron products and equipment are war-
ranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service, including all
component parts. This warranty shall not apply to defects resulting from accidents, alterations, or misuse.
If modifications have affected the operation of the product to render it faulty, this warranty shall be void.
This warranty shall be void if any part not of Accutron’s manufacture or supply has been incorporated into
the product.
THIS WARRANTY IS GIVEN IN PLACE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OTHERWISE.
No statement or claim about the product by any employee, agent, representative or dealer of Accutron, Inc.
shall constitute a warranty by Accutron, Inc. or give rise to any liability or obligation of Accutron, Inc.
