3 Sicherheitshinweise
Bitte lesen Sie die folgenden Hinweise. Sie dienen Ihrer Sicherheit und der Betriebsbereitschaft des Gerätes.
ACHTUNG
Für den Betrieb des M210SE und DS210 dürfen ausschließlich
ACD-Originalnetzteile, sowie von ACD zugelassene Akkus
verwendet werden! Die Verwendung nicht zugelassener
Komponenten kann zur Zerstörung des Gerätes führen. Wird das
Gerät längere Zeit nicht verwendet, nehmen Sie den Akku aus dem
Gerät heraus.

ACHTUNG
Blicken Sie niemals in den Strahl des Lasers. Schalten Sie bei
Reinigungsarbeiten stets das Gerät aus.
Die Laserklassifizierung ist auf einem der Aufkleber auf dem Gerät
angegeben.
ACHTUNG
Der Akku für das M210SE ist ein Lithium Ionen Akkupack. Lithium
Ionen Akkus können explodieren, wenn sie Feuer ausgesetzt
werden. Bitte Akkupack nicht zerlegen und nicht Feuer oder Hitze
(größer 60°C) aussetzen.
ACHTUNG
Bedienen Sie den Touchscreen grundsätzlich nur mit den
Fingerkuppen, oder mit dem auf der Rückseite am Halteband
befestigten Touch-Pen. Niemals Kugelschreiber oder andere spitze
Gegenstände verwenden.
ACHTUNG
Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von Wärmequellen
(Heizlüftern o.ä.) auf und setzen Sie es niemals direkter
Sonneneinstrahlung, übermäßigen Staubquellen oder
Erschütterungen aus.

NOTE
Dies ist eine Einrichtung der Klasse A. Diese Einrichtung kann im
Wohnbereich Funkstörungen verursachen.
In diesem Fall kann vom Betreiber verlangt werden, angemessene
Maßnahmen durchzuführen.
4 Vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme des M210SE
Um sicherzustellen, dass der ab Werk in das Gerät eingelegte Akku voll geladen ist, legen Sie das Gerät in
die mitgelieferte Dockingstation DS210 (falls im Lieferumfang enthalten) ein, siehe auch Punkt 5. Schließen
Sie die Dockingstation über das mitgelieferte Netzteil an das Stromnetz an (Power-LED leuchtet grün), siehe
auch Punkt 5.

Der Ladevorgang des Akkus ist beendet, wenn die LED mit der Bezeichnung ‚CHARGE‘ grün leuchtet. Sie
können nun das Handterminal M210SE in Betrieb nehmen.
5 Handhabung Gerät und Dockingstation
5.1 Netzteil für DS210 & M210SE Laden
•Das M210SE und der Ersatzakku dürfen nur in der Dockingstation DS210 mit entsprechendem Netzteil
geladen werden.
•Externes Netzteil für DS210
•Eingangsspannung ~ 100 - 240V AC; 0,8A; 50 - 60 Hz
•Ausgangsspannung 15V DC; 2,4A
•Netzkabel (Länderspezifisch)

5.2 Einsetzen des Akkus in das Handterminal M210SE
Das Akkufach befindet sich auf der Geräterückseite. Um den Deckel zu öffnen, entfernen Sie zunächst die
Handquerschlaufe durch einfaches Aushängen. Drücken Sie nun am Akkufachdeckel die
Verriegelungslasche in Richtung der Deckelfläche. Das Fach öffnet sich.
Der Akku lässt sich ohne Kraftaufwand einsetzen. Die lange Nut auf der unbeschrifteten Seite des Akkus
ist die Oberseite, die Öffnung der Nut schaut Richtung Griffmulde der Öffnungsmechanik. Beachten Sie
dabei, dass Sie den Akku leicht schräg nach unten geneigt in Richtung Kontakte einsetzen und dann mit
leichtem Druck in seine endgültige Position bringen. Den Deckel zuerst mit den drei Haltelaschen einsetzen
und dann in die Verriegelung drücken.

5.4 Einschalten des Handterminals M210SE
Zum Einschalten des Gerätes betätigen Sie die „C“ Taste und die „Sprung“ Taste rechts von der “0” bis die
LED darunter leuchtet. Danach können Sie die Tasten loslassen. Der Desktop des Betriebssystems bzw.
Ihre gewohnte Arbeitsumgebung erscheint.
5.5 Der Suspendmode
Beim Suspendmode wird das Betriebssystem und die darauf laufende Anwendung angehalten. Das Display
wird abgeschaltet und ist somit dunkel. Man gelangt in den Suspendmode durch das Ausschalten des
M210SE (siehe Kapitel 10). Beim Verlassen des Suspendmodes (Einschalten des M210SE) läuft die
Anwendung und das Betriebsystem an gleicher Stelle weiter. Durch beide Maßnahmen verbraucht das
M210SE nur noch sehr wenig Strom.
5.6 Ausschalten des Handterminals M210SE
Das Ausschalten erfolgt, wie das Einschalten, durch betätigen der beiden Tasten neben der “0”, wobei Sie
zunächst die Taste mit der Beschriftung “C” drücken und halten. Danach betätigen Sie zusätzlich die
„Sprung“ Taste.

5.7 Status LED’s der Dockingstation DS210
An der Frontseite sind die Status-LED’s der DS210 angebracht.

Die POWER-LED leuchtet grün, sobald die DS210 über das Netzteil mit Spannung versorgt wird.
Die LED CHARGE leuchtet rot, wenn das M210SE geladen wird. Ist das M210SE geladen, so leuchtet die
LED grün. Zur korrekten Anzeige muss das M210SE ausgeschaltet sein. Ist das M210SE eingeschaltet, so
wird die LED CHARGE eventuell rot leuchten, obwohl der Akku bereits geladen ist.
Die LED 2. BATTERY leuchtet rot, wenn ein Ersatzakku geladen wird. Ist der Ersatzakku geladen, so
leuchtet die LED grün.
Bei der DS210 Ethernet blinkt die CONNECT-LED grün, wenn die DS210 an das LAN (Ethernet) mit einem
Netzwerkkabel angeschlossen ist und das M210SE den Ethernet-Treiber geladen hat. Die CONNECT-LED
hat also dieselbe Funktion wie die grüne Link-LED bei der Netzwerkbuchse (RJ45 mit zwei integrierte
LED’s) auf der Geräterückseite. Die gelbe LED ist die Tx-LED. Diese blinkt, wenn Daten vom M210SE über
die DS210 in das LAN übertragen werden.

6 Reinigungs- und Pflegehinweise
Reinigen Sie das Gerät, indem Sie es fest auf eine Fläche (z.B. Tisch) aufsetzen. So haben Sie einen
sicheren Halt und das Gerät kann Ihnen während des Reinigungsvorganges nicht aus der Hand gleiten.
6.1 Display
Reinigen Sie das Display bei Bedarf mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch. Schalten Sie hierzu das Gerät
stets aus, da das Display auf Berührungen reagiert und so das aktive Programm beeinträchtigt oder gestört
werden kann. Üben Sie keinen starken Druck auf das Display aus.
6.2 Lade- und Kommunikationskontakte
Sollten Übertragungsprobleme auftreten, bitte die Lade- und Kommunikationskontakte mit einem weichen
feuchten Tuch reinigen.
Beim DS210 unbedingt vorher Netzstecker ziehen!
6.3 Sichtfenster für Scanner, Kamera und Kameraleuchte
Bei Auffälligkeiten während des Scannens oder Fotografierens , Gerät ausschalten und die Sichtfenster mit
einem weichen, trockenen Tuch reinigen. Die Sichtfenster sind hoch transparent und mit bloßem Auge kaum
zu sehen. Versuchen sie die Sichtfenster sorgfältig zu reinigen, ohne zu starken Druck auf das Glas
auszuüben.

2 Intended use
The M210SE Set (M210SE/DS210) data acquisition system is a solution for the mobile acquisition and
transfer of data. Do not use the system in explosive areas.
Please observe the national regulatory requirements for wireless devices. The supplied components are
intended for use with this device only
3 Safety information
Please read the following information. It serves to ensure your safety as well as the operational readiness of
the device.
ATTENTION
Only original ACD power supply units and ACD-approved batteries
may be used for the operation of the M210SE and the DS210. The
utilisation of non-approved components can lead to the
destruction of the device. Remove the battery from the device if it
is not used for an extended period of time.
ATTENTION
Never look directly into the beam of the laser. Always switch off
the device during cleaning.
The laser classification is stated upon one of the stickers on the device.

ATTENTION
The M210SE battery is a lithium ion battery pack. Lithium ion
battery packs can explode if exposed to fire. Do not disassemble
the battery pack and do not expose it to fire or heat (greater than
60°C).
ATTENTION
Only operate the touchscreen using the fingertips or with the
touch-pen attached to the retainer strap on the rear. Never use a
pen or other sharp objects.

Never position the device in close proximity to heat sources
(heating fans or similar equipment) and never expose it to direct
sunlight, excessive dust sources or shocks.

This is a Class A device. This device can cause radio interferences
in living areas.
In this case, the operator may be requested to implement
appropriate measures.
4 Prior to the initial commissioning of the M210SE
In order to ensure that the battery inserted into the device at the factory is fully charged, insert the device into
the supplied DS210 docking station (if included in the scope of delivery), also see Point 5. Using the supplied
power supply unit, connect the docking station to the mains (Power LED shows a green light), also see
Point 5.
The battery charging process has been completed when the 'CHARGE' LED shows a green light.
You can now use the M210SE handheld terminal.
5 Handling of the device and docking station
5.1 Charging the power supply unit for the DS210 & M210SE
The M210SE and the spare battery may only be charged in the DS210 docking station with respective
power supply unit.

5.2 Inserting the battery into the M210SE handheld terminal
The battery compartment is located on the rear of the device. In order to open the cover, first remove the
transverse hand strap by simply unhooking it. Now push the locking tab on the battery compartment cover
towards the cover surface. The compartment opens.
The battery can be inserted without application of force. The long groove on the unlabelled side of the
battery is the top side. The opening of the groove faces the recess for the opening mechanism. In doing so,
ensure that you insert the battery at a slight incline towards the contacts and then bring it into its final
position whilst applying a slight amount of pressure. First, place the cover on the three securing straps and
then push into the locking mechanism.

5.4 Switching on the M210SE handheld terminal
In order to switch on the device, press the “C” button and the “jump” button to the right of “0” until the LED
beneath it lights up. You can then release the buttons. The desktop of your operating system or your usual
work environment appears.
5.5 Suspend mode
In suspend mode, the operating system and the application running on it are stopped. The display is
switched off and consequently becomes dark. Suspend mode can be accessed by switching off the M210SE
(see Chapter 10). Upon leaving suspend mode (switching on the M210SE), the application and the operating
system starts to run from the same point. Thanks to both measures, the M210SE only uses an extremely
small amount of power.
5.6 Switching off the M210SE handheld terminal
As is the case when switching on, the device can be switched off by pressing both buttons next to “0”,
whereby the “C” button must first be pressed and held. Then the “jump” button must also be pressed.

5.7 Status of the DS210 docking station LEDs
The DS210 status LEDs are located on the front of the docking station.

The POWER LED shows a green light as soon as the DS210 is supplied with current via the power supply
unit.
The CHARGE LED shows a red light when the M210 is charging. The LED shows a green light once the
M210SE is charged. In order to ensure a correct display, the M210SE must be switched off. If the M210SE is
switched on, the CHARGE LED may show a red light although the battery is already charged.
The 2. BATTERY LED shows a red light if a spare battery is being charged. The LED shows a green light
once the spare battery is charged.
With the DS210 Ethernet, the CONNECT LED flashes green if the DS210 is connected to the LAN (Ethernet)
with a network cable and the M210SE has loaded the Ethernet driver. Therefore, the CONNECT-LED has
the same function as the green Link LED on the network socket (RJ45 with two integrated LEDs) on the rear
of the device. The yellow LED is the Tx LED. It flashes if data is being transmitted from the M210SE into the
LAN via the DS210.

6 Cleaning and maintenance information
Clean the device by placing it firmly onto a surface (e.g. table). This ensures a secure hold and the device
cannot slip out of your hand during the cleaning process.
6.1 Display
If required, clean the display with a soft, dry cloth. In order to do, always switch off the device as the display
responds to all contact and could therefore compromise or interfere with the active program. Do not apply
any severe pressure on the display.
6.2 Charging and communication contacts
If transfer problems occur, clean the charging and communication contacts with a soft, moist cloth.
When dealing with the DS210, the power plug must be disconnected beforehand.
6.3 Scanner, camera and camera light window
In the event of any irregularities during scanning, switch off the device and clean the scanner window with
a soft, dry cloth. The scanner window is ultra-transparent and can hardly be seen with the naked eye.
Attempt to carefully clean the window without applying excess force on the glass.

ATTENTION
Do not use any corrosive chemicals, cleaning solutions or strong
cleaning agents in order to clean the device.
7 Miscellaneous :
EU directive on the disposal of waste electrical and electronic

All components must be returned to ACD for recycling at the end of their service lives.
