1.2 FRATURES AND BENEFITS
The CAM-5100 is a high resolution, Ethernet (LAN and WAN) ready digital video
transmission device. With powerful ARM9 SoC, MPEG-4 compression chip inside, it
can compress and transmit the high quality real-time video through standard TCP/IP
network. In addition to meet the basic needs of video feed, many advanced features are
added to help building applications of surveillance
zReal-time MPEG-4 Compression
With Hardware MPEG-4 compression chip inside, the composite video inputs can be
efficiently compressed into MPEG-4 bit stream without any delay. The ASIC base
compression engine could support not only CIF, but also FULL D1 image resolution.
zQoS Enabled Video Straming
For real-time video streaming requirements, CAM-5100 implemented the 802.1pQ
features inside of SoC as the streaming engine. The QoS enabled video streaming packet
could be forwarding faster then normal TCP/UDP packet in QoS switch/router.
zAutomatic Frame Rate Control
CAM-5100 supports automatic/manual streaming frame rate control. Especially for
multiple clients concurrent access the same video stream in different network bandwidth.
zDigital Time Code Embedded
The “Digital Time Code Embedded” function is embedded recording time in MPEG bit
stream. Therefore, the exact time each frame is recorded will be saved. It is very useful
when users want to find the video at an exact time or a certain time interval.
zBuild-in LAN and WAN (Low Latency PPPoE Supported) Ports
CAM-5100 provides two RJ-45 connectors. One is WAN and the other is LAN. The WAN
port is to be connected to the internet, while LAN port is connecting to the local network.
Since the internet’s bandwidth is very critical, the WAN port is equipped with PPPoE
(Point-to-Point over Ethernet) which enables the CAM-5100 to connect to and ADSL.
zDDNS Supported
CAM-5100 supports DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server), users can set the
CAM-5100 at a virtual domain name (such as cam1.ACTi.Taipei.xxx) at dynamic IP, and
be able to view this video anywhere that has access to the internet.
zBuild-in Motion Detection
No more external motion sensors are required. Each CAM-5100 can be set up to 3
detection areas. By tuning the object size and sensitivity, it is very reliable to fit into your
environment.
