to eyes and bare skin. To reduce the risk of UV exposure, the device
must be used in accordance with the directions and warnings in this
manual.
d) It is the responsibility of the user to read and understand the
directions and warnings in this manual Failure to use the device
properly and safely can lead to serious personal injury.
e) Do not use this device for anything other than the intended use.

Thank you for choosing the AcuvaTM SOLARIX UV-LED Portable
Disinfection Device!
The SOLARIX device is not intended to be used on human skin, eyes or
clothes. The device is not a medical device. Do not use to decontaminate
toothbrushes.
SOLARIX employs the most advanced and powerful Ultraviolet-C (UVC)
light, to significantly reduce bacteria, and viruses on non-porous surfaces
by up to 99.9%* in 10 seconds.
This manual was prepared to help you understand the safe operation and
care of your SOLARIX device. Please read this User’s Manual carefully
before you use the product.
The SOLARIX device uses UV-C energy to achieve disinfection.
To prevent the risk of injury, always wear protective eyewear and
clothing when using the SOLARIX device. Do not use device against
skin, eyes or clothes. Only use the device to disinfect surfaces and
objects.

UV disinfection utilizes strong short-wavelength (250–280 nm) energy to
inactivate microorganisms by destroying the nucleic acids and disrupting
their DNA or RNA, leaving them unable to perform vital cellular functions.
The Principle of UV-Disinfection
Acuva SOLARIX employs this principle of UV inactivation for disinfection
of non-porous surfaces. Utilizing powerful UVC LEDs, SOLARIX provides
high UV dosage to maintain >99.9% disinfection in less than 10 seconds.

WARNING
UV disinfection is eective for non-porous surfaces. To enhance user
safety, multiple features are integrated into the SOLARIX, including:
• A sliding switch to activate the ON/OFF button
• Double-click and press-and-hold ON/OFF button actions to
prevent accidental turning ON of UVC-LEDs
• Positional switch that disables the activation of the device below
180o(reduces risk of UVC radiation exposure to the user’s hand)
• Automatic turn OFF after 3 minutes of continuous use
SAFETY INFORMATION
Additional Safety Instructions
Avoid UVC exposure to the eyes or skin at any time and from any
distance.
Avoid UVC exposure to people, pets, or plants around you.
Always wear UVC protective eyewear and gloves when using the device.
Keep the device folded with the safety sliding switch in the locked position
to preserve battery life and to prevent accidentally turning ON the UVC
LEDs.
When disinfecting a smooth and bright metallic surface, such as
aluminum, be aware of and take precaution against irradiation by
secondary reflected UV rays from surface
Do not use the device if it may irradiate exposed skin of any person or
pet.
Stop using the device and consult a doctor immediately if
accidental exposure of UV radiation occurs to the eyes and skin.
If disinfecting multiple items, turn device OFF between each object.
Do not use the device where there is risk of water contact.
Visually inspect device before use, making sure device is not damaged.
When finished disinfecting, always turn device OFF.

CLEANING THE DEVICE
Use a damp lint-free cloth for cleaning the SOLARIX plastics. If the UVC
LEDs have been exposed to dirt or fingerprints, ensure they are turned
OFF before cleaning with a dry lint-free cloth.
Do not touch the LEDs.
Do not use chemical disinfectants/cleaning reagents for cleaning.

PRODUCT USAGE
Operation Instructions
#1 Slide the safety sliding switch to the right to
activate the device.
#2 Unfold the wand until it is open at least 180o.
The ON/OFF button should start blinking when the
device is armed and ready to use. (Device is set
to turn ON at 180oand above, to avoid direct UV
exposure to user’s hand)
Ultraviolet radiation is harmful to human organs, including skin
and eyes. Please view page 5 of user’s manual for more safety
information.
WARNING
#3.2 To turn ON the UVC LEDs (option 2):
Once the device is activated and ready to use,
double-click the ON/OFF button to turn and keep
the UVC LEDs ON, until the button is pressed again
to turn them OFF.
#4 While the UVC LEDs are ON, visible LEDs
project a blue-colored light showcasing the area
of disinfection of target surface. The Acuva logo
on the back of the device will glow indicating the
UVLEDs are on and working properly. Regardless
of the method used to activate the UVC LEDs, they
will turn o after 3 minutes as a safety measure.
#3.1 To turn ON the UVC LEDs (option 1):
Once the device is activated and ready to use,
press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn ON the
UVC LEDs (UV turns ON after 1 second). Release
the button to turn OFF the UVC LEDs.

#5 Disinfect the target surface. Take note of the
safety considerations indicated on page 5.
When finished disinfecting, turn OFF the device,
fold the device and slide the safety switch to OFF
position (slide switch to the left).
PRODUCT USAGE
#7 To charge the device, simply insert a USB C
plug connected to your phone charger or laptop
with a cable. For safety reasons, the device cannot
be used during charging.
#8 When the device is being charged, the indicator
panel beside the USB-C port will be flashing green.
When charging is finished, this panel will be lit solid
green.
#6 When the device is low on battery, the indicator
LED will blink blue while in use, and blink orange
while the UVLEDs are OFF.
While performing disinfection of a surface, keep the
device at a 5cm distance and slowly move it (10cm/
second) over the target surface 10 times back and
forth. For an area of 50cmx50cm, the user needs
to uniformly scan the surface for about a minute to
achieve disinfection.

The sale and use of all Acuva products is governed by the Acuva
Technologies Inc. Standard Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use (the
“Agreement”), a copy of which is available at www.acuvatech.com.
The Agreement contains important terms that, among other things,
aect Acuva’s liability and your legal remedies against Acuva. Please
read the Agreement carefully. By purchasing the Acuva product, you
have agreed to be bound by the entire Agreement including the limited
warranty, limitations of liability and methods of resolving disputes. In the
event of any inconsistency between this manual and the Agreement, the
Agreement shall prevail.
STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS
As set out in the Agreement, Acuva products come with the following
limited warranty.
SCOPE AND PERIOD
Limited Warranty
Acuva warrants to you that the Product will be free from defects in
materials and workmanship under normal use for 1 year from the original
date of purchase by you (the “Warranty Period”), or as entitled by your
region’s mandatory consumer protection laws,, whichever is greater.
The limited warranty in this Agreement (the “Limited Warranty”) is not
transferable by you. All subsequent purchasers acquire the Product “as is”
without benefit of the Limited Warranty. Where you purchased the Product
from Acuva’s Site or other online vendors the date of purchase is the date
of the purchase invoice issued to you by Acuva or such online vendors by
email. Where you purchased the Product from an authorized reseller at a
physical location, the date of purchase is the date of the invoice issued to
you at the physical location.
DEFECTS
In the event Acuva determines that the Product is defective, Acuva may
in its discretion: (i) replace the defective Product with a new Product; or
(ii) refund to you the purchase price you paid for the Product. ‘DEFECTS’
SECTION IS NOT APPLICABLE TO RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC.

REPLACEMENT
Where the Product is replaced during the Warranty Period, except as
otherwise prohibited by applicable laws, the warranty for the replaced
Product, as applicable, will expire upon the expiration of the original
Warranty Period. Any warranty service or support under this Limited
Warranty is conditioned upon your return of the Product to Acuva. Where
there has been a replacement of the Product, the Product, as provided
pursuant to this limited warranty, becomes your property and the Product
being replaced becomes Acuva’s property. Where there is a refund, you
will return the Product to Acuva and such Product becomes Acuva’s
property. Acuva may condition a refund or replacement on you returning
the product or require you to provide a credit card number, which will be
charged only if you fail to return the Product. ‘REPLACEMENT’ SECTION
IS NOT APPLICABLE TO RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC.
EXCLUSIONS
The limited warranty does not apply:
1. To normal wear and tear;
2. If the Product was not purchased directly from Acuva or its authorized
retailers or was purchased or acquired used;
3. To damage caused by misuse, corrosion, moisture or liquids, proximity
or exposure to heat or external environment, accident, abuse, misuse,
neglect, improper installation, operation or misapplication;
4. To physical damage to the Product;
5. To any software, whether or not supplied by Acuva.

La désinfection par rayonnement ultraviolet utilise une forte énergie à
courte longueur d’onde (250-280 nm) pour inactiver les micro-organismes
par la destruction des acides nucléiques et la perturbation de leur ADN
ou ARN, les rendant ainsi incapables d’eectuer des fonctions cellulaires
vitales.

INFORMATION SUR LA SÉCURITÉ
Instructions de sécurité additionnelles
Évitez l’exposition aux rayons UVC des yeux ou de la peau à tout moment
et à toute distance.
Éviter toute exposition aux rayons UVC pour les personnes, les animaux
domestiques ou les plantes dans votre environnement.
Portez toujours des lunettes et des gants de protection lorsque vous
utilisez l’appareil.
Maintenez l’appareil replié avec l’interrupteur coulissant de sécurité en
position verrouillée pour préserver la durée de vie de la batterie et éviter
l’activation accidentelle des LED UV.
Lorsque vous désinfectez une surface métallique lisse et brillante,
comme l’aluminium, faites attention, prenez des précautions contre la
réflexion secondaire des rayons UVC sur la surface.
N’utilisez pas l’appareil s’il peut irradier la peau exposée d’une
personne ou d’un animal de compagnie.
Cessez d’utiliser l’appareil et consultez immédiatement un médecin en
cas d’exposition accidentelle des yeux aux rayons UV.
Ne pas utiliser le dispositif en cas de risque de contact avec l’eau.
Eectuer une inspection visuelle du dispositif avant toute utilisation en
vérifiant l’absence de dommages sur celui-ci.
Veiller à toujours éteindre le dispositif une fois la désinfection terminée.

ATTENTION
La désinfection par UV est ecace sur les surfaces non poreuses. Pour
renforcer la sécurité des utilisateurs, de multiples fonctionnalités ont
été intégrées au SOLARIX, notamment :
• Un interrupteur coulissant pour activer le bouton ON / OFF.
• Double-cliquez et appuyez sur le bouton ON / OFF et maintenez-le
enfoncé pour éviter la mise en marche accidentelle de l'appareil
• Interrupteur de position qui désactive l’activation de l’appareil en
dessous de 180o(réduit le risque d’exposition aux rayons UVC de la
main de l’utilisateur)
• Arrêt automatique après 3 minutes d’utilisation continue.

NETTOYAGE DE L’APPAREIL
Utilisez un chion humide non pelucheux pour nettoyer les parties en
plastique du SOLARIX. Si les LED UVC ont été exposées à la saleté ou à
des empreintes digitales, assurez-vous qu’elles sont éteintes avant de les
nettoyer avec un chion sec non pelucheux.
Ne touchez pas les LED.
N’utilisez pas de réactif désinfectant / nettoyant chimique pour le nettoyage.

UTILISATION DU PRODUIT
Instructions d'utilisation
#1 Faites glisser l'interrupteur de sécurité vers la
droite pour activer l'appareil.
#2 Dépliez l’appareil jusqu'à ce qu'il soit ouvert
d'au moins 180°. Le bouton ON/OFF clignote
lorsque l'appareil est armé et prêt à être utilisé.
(Le dispositif est réglé pour s'allumer à 180° et
plus, afin d'éviter l'exposition directe de la main de
l'utilisateur aux UVC).
Le rayonnement ultraviolet est nocif pour les organes humains, y
compris la peau et les yeux. Veuillez consulter la page 16 du manuel
d’utilisation pour plus d'information sur la sécurité.
ATTENTION
#3.2 Pour allumer les LED UVC (option 2) :
Une fois que l'appareil est armé, double-cliquez sur
le bouton ON/OFF pour allumer et maintenir les
LED UVC allumées, jusqu'à ce que vous appuyiez à
nouveau sur le bouton pour les éteindre.
#3.1 Pour allumer les LED UVC (option 1) :
Une fois que le dispositif est armé, appuyez et
maintenez le bouton ON/OFF pour allumer les LED
UVC (les UV s'allument après 1 seconde). Relâchez
le bouton pour éteindre les LED UVC.
#4 Lorsque les LED UVC sont allumées, les LED
visibles projettent une lumière bleue sur la zone
active de désinfection. Le logo Acuva à l'arrière de
l'appareil s'allume, indiquant que les LED UV sont
fonctionnelles. Quelle que soit la méthode utilisée
pour activer les LED UVC, elles s'éteignent après 3
minutes de fonctionnement par mesure de sécurité.

#7 Pour charger l'appareil, il sut d'insérer une
prise USB-C connectée à votre chargeur de
téléphone ou à votre ordinateur à l'aide d'un
câble. L'appareil ne peut pas être utilisé pendant
la charge.
#5 Désinfectez la surface cible. Prenez note des
considérations de sécurité indiquées page 16.
Une fois la désinfection terminée, mettez l'appareil
hors tension, pliez l'appareil et faites glisser
l'interrupteur de sécurité en position OFF (faites
glisser l'interrupteur vers la gauche).
#8 Lorsque l'appareil est en cours de charge, le
voyant indicateur à côté du port USB-C clignote en
vert. Lorsque la charge est terminée, ce voyant est
allumé en vert continu.
#6 Lorsque la batterie de l'appareil est faible,
le voyant lumineux clignote en bleu pendant
l'utilisation, et en orange lorsque les LED UV sont
éteintes.
Pendant la désinfection d'une surface, maintenez
l'appareil à une distance de 5 cm et déplacez-le
lentement (10 cm/seconde) sur la surface cible à dix
reprises aller-retour. Pour une aire de 50cmx50cm,
l'utilisateur doit balayer uniformément la surface
pendant environ une minute pour obtenir la
performance indiquée concernant la désinfection
des organismes.
