ThisAdvanced DigitalControls Ultra-8 version alarmcontrolpanelhasbeen designed to
provide the most requested featuresforboththe installer&the end-user.Thesefeatures
includeeaseofinstallation,ease ofprogrammingand userfriendly operationall ina package
thatisreliable,functionaland attractive.
Utilising manyyears ofexperienceinthe security industryand implementing valuablefeedback,
weareproud toprovide you withanewgeneration ofalarmcontroller.The Ultra-8 is a New

Bydefaultonly themastercodehaspermissionto changeadd orremovecodes. Anynew
codesadded will beable to arm,disarmand puteitherarea ofthe panelintomonitor

isseparated byabeep tone.
Thereareanumberofeventswhicharestored inmemorywhichdo nothaveaspecific
indicatorassociated with themsuch asPanic and Duress.
Othereventssuchas tampersand lowbatteryareshared acrossmanydevices. Forthis
reasonthe followingtablehasbeen created.

Thiscommandallowsyou totemporarily excludeorby-pass zonesofyourchoicewhen
armingyourpanel.The excluded zoneswillgobacktonormalthe nexttimeyoudisarm
thepanel(except24Hourzoneswhichmustbe manuallyre-included).Atypicalexample
wouldbe ifyou wanted toletyourpetrun around in the garagewhen yoursystemis
armed,you couldchoose toexclude thatdetector(sayZone 1)fromthe system.
Toexclude zone 1,keyinthe followingsequence:

WhentheENTERkeyispressedthe AWAY indicatorwillflashveryfast (provided thatall
zonesaresealed)toindicatethe exclude function isactivebeforearming,anynumberof
zonesmaybe excluded inthismanner.PressMENU2againtoadd orremoveexcluded
zones.Pressbutton 1andENTERagainandzone1will be included.
¤24 hourzones(forexamplesmokedetectors)willremainexcludeduntil theyare
manually includedagain.All otherexcluded zoneswill returntonormal"included"mode
automatically thenext timethepanelisarmed.
It is advisabletovacatethe secured area beforethe exit delayexpires

Outputsareprogrammablecontactson the paneloroutputexpanderboardthatcan be
used toswitchorpowerexternaldeviceson oroff. Note:Yourinstallermustenablethisfeature.

The SYS indicatorwill beon steady
Pressthe numberkeycorrespondingtothe outputyou wishtoturnon i.e.-output3turns
on waterheating.
Pressthe 3key, the 3indicatorwill illuminate indicating the outputison.
Press the ENTERkeytoconfirmthe operation and returntonormalkeypad function
Tocheckwhatoutputsare on simplypress the MENU3 keys again, indicator3 will be
illuminated,pressingthe 3 &ENTERkeys again will toggle theoutputoff.

The MENU6function will giveyou an eightpointfaultanalysisofcurrentsystemfaults.
The SYS indicatorwill flash whena systemFAULToccurse.g. "mainsfailure".
Press MENU+6toviewanyFAULTconditions.
The SYS indicatorwill remainonsteadyand LED’s 1-8will beilluniatedcorospondingto
tablebelow.
If the systemfaulthasnotbeen acknowledged aftertheeventclears,e.g. "mainsreturns"
,normalcondition,the SYS indicatorwillremainsteady showingyouthat the eventis now
cleared.Thisallowsyou tosee iftherehavebeen anyfaults whilethealarm hasbeen
set. Toclearthisindicatorpress MENU6 oritwill simply clearnexttimeyouarmthe
panel. The SYS indicatorcan be programmed toextinguish upon “normal condition”thus NOTdrawing
yourattention toanypastFAULTS.Askyourinstallertosetthisoption.

The duressdigitisanumberfrom1-9.Tocreateaduressalarm,the duressdigitmustbe
pressedbeforethe codetodisarm.ie,If the usercode is 2580 and the duressdigitis5,
then enteringacode of52580 +ENTERwouldcreateaduressalarm.Thesirenswon't
sound, butthe diallerwoulddialtothe Monitoring Station and reportaDURESS ALARM.
Pleaseask yourinstallertosettheduressdigit.Itisdefaultfor0, whichmeansthe
duress option is disabled.
ACKNOWLEDGINGDOMESTICACKNOWLEDGINGDOMESTIC&VOICEALARM MESSAGES&VOICEALARM MESSAGES
Ifanalarmoccursthatis setforDomestic orVoiceReporting, the panelwill call thepre-
programmedtelephone number/s. When thecall is answeredasiren tone orvoice
messagewillbe sent.Thepanelwill thenwait for5 secondslookingforaDTMFtone on
the line (aDTMFtone isgenerated when anykeyon a normalpushbutton telephone is
pressed),If the panelreceivesaDTMFtone it willhang-up andcancelanyfurthercalls
forthatparticularalarmevent. If notitwillrepeatthe siren tone orvoicemessagea
further3timeswiththe 5second pauseinbetweenwaitingtohearaDTMF tonethatwill
stop the alarmreporting,ifno DTMFtone wasreceived afterthe totalof4attempts the
panelwilldialthe nextpre-programmednumberon the listand repeatthe sequence
again,ifinthemeantime the alarmpanelisunsetanyfurthervoicealarmreportsare
automatically cancelled (withthe exceptionof24houralarmsthatmustbecancelledbya
DTMFcode only).

The VB-90 voiceboardmustbe fitted forthesefunctionstowork.Pleaseask you installerformoreinformation
CommandControlOperation
If Command Controlis setup thenavalidcode holdercan call the alarmusingany
standardpushbuttontelephone.When thepanelanswersthe in-coming call itwill
generate2differenttonesforapproximately2secondseach.When the toneshave
finished the panelwillbe lookingforavalid4digitDTMF code e.g.1,2,3,4.If the code
entered inatthe keypad on the telephone matchesone ofthe validDTMFcodes
programmedintothepanelthe appropriatevoice messagewill be sent.
Forexample,If the code 1,2,3,4wasthe Arm/Disarmcode forArea Aand the code
holderentered thiscode inattheirtelephone,the alarmpanelwiltrespond withthe voice
messagerelating tothe currentstatusofArea A.Nowbypressingthe êbutton atthe
remote telephone the panelwiltchange thestatus ofArea A(ifalreadyArmed itwill
Disarmthe panelorviceversa)and givethe correspondingvoicemessagerelatingto
this newstate.OutputControlisverysimilarwiththe exception thatthe outputnumber
you wishtocontrolmust be entered inafterthe valid4digitcode e.g.ifthe output control
code was2,5,8,0 and you wanted to controloutput# 2thenthe code2.5,8,0,2mustbe
entered inatthe remotetelephone.Onceagain,ifthiswasa validcode tocontrolthe
outputs the panelwill respondwiththe voicemessagerelatingtothecurrentstatusof the
outputconcerned (inthiscaseoutput2).Bypressingthe êbutton the stateofthe output
willbechanged andthemessagerelating tothe newstatuswill besent.
Atanytimeifan incorrectcodeisaccidentallyentered asinglepressofthe#buttonat
the telephone will resetall digits sent ready to anewsequenceof4 digits.
MicrophoneControl
Ifthe optionalmicrophone is connectedtotheVoiceBoard,itis possible to dialintothe
alarmpanelfromanytelephoneand turnon the Microphone inputtoallowaudible
verification ofanintruderonsite.
Todo this,oncethepanelhasanswered the in-comingcall asbefore, allyou haveto do
isenterinthe valid4digitMicrophone code followed bythe êbutton.To turnthe
microphone input offyousimplypress the êbutton again. If the microphone is notturned
off properlyitisautomaticallyturned off whenthe callisterminated.The various
CommandControlprogramaddresscodesforbothpanelsarelistedin the chartbelow.
