Installation and Operation of Electronic Insect Killer
Your ADE Electronic Insect Killer IK2138 is a quality product which works reliable and
hygienic. It impresses with its easy handling.
These instructions are intended for the USER.
Read the warnings they contain carefully since they provide important guidance for safe
installation, use and maintenance.
Keep these instructions in a safe place for further consultation!

Installation
Remove the packaging and make sure that nothing is left inside the box (particularly the
hanging chains and insect collecting tray).
The device is normally hung from the ceiling using the hanging chains provided at the
height of about the 3 metres above the ground, protected from droughts.
Operation
The insects are attracted by the ultraviolet light emitted by the special lamp. They are then
electrocuted by the electrified grid and fall into an easily emptied tray.
This device must not be used outdoors!

General safety guidelines
A number of fundamental rules must be observed
when using any electrical device.
In particular: Remove the plug from the mains socket before any maintenance work.
Never touch the device with wet hands and bare feet.
Never pull the power lead or the device itself to disconnect the plug
from the mains socket.
Never immerse the device in water and never clean it by spraying it
with water.
Quality check
ADE products correspond to the applicable EC Directives and European standards to
manufacture and distribute world-wide devices as per the latest technical standard offering
a long lifetime and continuous reliability.
Due to the certification as per ISO 9001 the high standards for
Research & Development, Manufacturing, Sales and Service
requirements are fulfilled. A copy of our ISO Certificate is available on
request.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
Extract the tray to remove dead insects.
The grid and lamp can be cleaned by using a cloth or brush.
Replacing the lamps
Before carrying out this operation, disconnect from the power supply by removing the plug,
and extract the collection tray.
1. Remove the screws and black covers at the sides of the device, then slide off the
side covers.
2. Remove the black protection grids, then replace the lamps.

Lamps for replacement
Sylvania Blacklight, 15 Watt
Blue illuminating lamps are loosing effectivity during longer operating time. Even though the
human eye sensed the same intensity, there’s a loss of power. It is advisible to replace the
lamps after an operating time approx. 9 months or 5000 working hours.
Safety instructions
Do NOT use the scale
If the mains adapter shows visible damages
If mains adapter is not working properly
After long storage in humid places
In those cases contact your local dealer or service partner.
Storage and Transport
Keep all original parts and pieces for an eventual sending back of the scale in order to
avoid any possible damage during transport which automatically leads to no warranty.
Disconnect all cables before transport to avoid unnecessary damages.
Warranty –Liability
ADE will repair or replace this product within a period of 1 years from date of delivery
applying to defects occurred due to poor material or workmanship (presentation of invoice
is necessary). All moveable parts –cables, mains units, lamps etc. –are excluded.
Warranty does not include natural wear, damages caused by incorrect or negligent
handling, overuse or unsuitable or improper storage. The cost of transport will be borne by
the customer should the equipment be located anywhere other then the customer’s
premises. In the event of transport damage, claims under warranty can be accepted subject
to using the complete original packaging and the equipment secured the way it was packed
and secured originally. All the packaging should therefore be retained.
Any warranty claim will be rejected if the equipment is opened by persons not authorized
expressively by ADE to do so.
Customers abroad are kindly requested to contact their local dealer for any warranty claim,
customer service and spare parts.
