hygienic. It impresses with its easy handling.

Installation
Normally, the "IK 2138" is placed or hung between 2 and 3 m abo e the floor. The unit should
not be placed too close to other light sources or in draughts.
Make sure that the distance between the appliance and open products is large enough and
that the appliance is ne er hung o er the working area of open food.
When choosing a place for the insect killer, also consider the hygiene requirements of your
authorities.
Operation
The UV light, which is harmless to the human eye, exerts a direct line of sight and a strong
attraction on insects. On their way to the lamp, they fly against an energised grid, which
destroys them quickly and hygienically. They then fall into a catch tray, which can be easily
emptied - as required.
General safety guidelines
A number of fundamental rules must be observed when using any
electrical device. In particular:
 Always unplug the appliance before cleaning, mo ing or replacing a lamp.
 Make sure that the electric insect killer is out of reach of children.
 Ne er immerse in water or clean with a water jet.
 Protect from moisture!
 Use only indoors, do not use outdoors.
 Do not place in barns or similar rooms and not near easily combustible material.
 Do not use the unit in places where the presence of flammable apours/gases or
explosi e dust is likely.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
To remo e the dead insects, simply pull out the collection tray carefully. The grille and the
lamps can be cleaned - with the mains plug disconnected - using a cloth or brush.
Replacing the lamps
First remo e the plug from the socket. Loosen the screws on the two lower plastic plates and
push the side panels upwards by about 2 cm.
There are earthing cables (green-yellow) in the side panels which can be
torn out if pushed beyond this point!
Loosen the four screws of the base plate and pull the grille downwards.
The fixing screw caps can be unscrewed at the ends of the tube and the tube can be loosened
by turning it slightly. Now the tube can be replaced.
Reassembly is done in re erse order.
Functionality can only be checked after complete reassembly.

Actinic Blacklight, 15 Watt
Blue illuminating lamps are loosing effecti ity during longer operating time. E en though the
human eye sensed the same intensity, there’s a loss of power. It is ad isible to replace the
lamps after an operating time approx. 9 months or 5000 working hours.
Safety instructions
Do NOT use the scale
 If the mains adapter shows isible damages
 If mains adapter is not working properly
 After long storage in humid places
In those cases contact your local dealer or ser ice partner.
Storage and Transport
Keep all original parts and pieces for an e entual sending back of the scale in order to a oid
any possible damage during transport which automatically leads to no warranty.
Disconnect all cables before transport to a oid unnecessary damages.

Disposal
Used electrical appliances and fluorescent lamps do not belong in
household waste.
Please dispose of defective or old appliances and fluorescent lamps in
accordance with the
legal and country
-
specific regulations!
Warranty – iability
ADE will repair or replace this product within a period of 1 years from date of deli ery applying
to defects occurred due to poor material or workmanship (presentation of in oice is
necessary). All mo eable parts – cables, mains units, lamps etc. – are excluded. Warranty
does not include natural wear, damages caused by incorrect or negligent handling, o eruse
or unsuitable or improper storage. The cost of transport will be borne by the customer should
the equipment be located anywhere other then the customer’s premises. In the e ent of
transport damage, claims under warranty can be accepted subject to using the complete
original packaging and the equipment secured the way it was packed and secured originally.
All the packaging should therefore be retained.
Any warranty claim will be rejected if the equipment is opened by persons not authorized
expressi ely by ADE to do so.
Customers abroad are kindly requested to contact their local dealer for any warranty claim,
customer ser ice and spare parts.
