Directions for Use
• TheAerogen®Soloissuitableforintermittentandcontinuousnebulizationofpediatric(29daysorolder)and
adultpatients.
• ItcanbeusedwiththeAerogenPro‑XControllerortheAerogenUSBController.
• TheAerogenSoloiscompatiblewithothersystemshavinganintegratedAerogencontroller.
• Itisasinglepatientusedevice,withanexpectedmaximumlifeof28daysorforamaximumof7daysifusedin
Continuousmode.

Intermittent Nebulization (Option 1)
• EnsuretheAerogenSolo(1)isrmlypushedintotheAerogenSoloT‑Piece(2).
• InsertthenebulizerandT‑Pieceassemblyintotheinspiratorylimboftheventilationcircuit(3)
asshowninFigureA.
• Introduceprescribedmedicationintothenebulizercup(4)andinsertthetetheredsiliconeplug(5).
• Turn on the 30 Minute Mode option (Intermittent) on the Aerogen Pro‑X Controller or integrated
controller(aspersystemInstructionManual).
Intermittent Nebulization (Option 2)
TheAerogenSolocanbeplacedbetweentheventilatorandthedrysideofthehumidier.FigureBillustratesa
setupfortheAerogenSoloatthedr ysideofthehumidier.TheAerogenSolocanbeusedwithanasalinterface
inthisconguration.
TheAerogenSolocanbeplacedbetweenthewyeandendotrachealtubeasshowninFigureC.TheAerogen
SolocanbeusedwithaHeatandMoistureExchangeDevice(HME)whichmaycontainalter.
OnlyaHMEapprovedforusewithanebulizershouldbeusedinthisconguration(FigureD).FollowtheHME
manufacturerinstructionsregardingusewithanebulizer.Ensurethecombinationofnebulizer,T‑pieceand/or
HME volumes issuitablefor thetidalvolumebeingdelivered.AdultT‑piece volume=34.3 mLandPediatric
T‑piecevolume=19.5mL.

Continuous Nebulization
• PlacenebulizerasshowninFigureAorFigureB.
• FillandprimetheAerogenContinuousNebulizationTubeSet(6)withmedicationasperAerogenSolo
SystemInstructionManual(AG‑AS3050‑US).
• Screwthenebulizerendofthetubeset(7)ontothetopoftheAerogenSolo(1)asindicatedinFigureE.
• TurnonthecontinuousmodeoptionontheAerogenPro‑XControllerorintegratedcontroller(asper
AerogenSoloSystemor integrated systemInstructionManual)andturnonthe syringepump(refer
toAerogenSoloSystemInstructionManualandpumpmanualorpumpmanufacturerforguidance).
For optimum useoftheAerogenSolo,ensureitiscorrectlyorientatedasshowninFigureF.
ThisappliestobothContinuousandintermittentsettings.
