1. Safe handling
¾Prior to use, check that the product is in good
working order.
¾Observe our ‚"Notes on Electromagnetic Compati-
bility (EMC)‚".
¾To prevent damage caused by improper setup or
operation, and in order not to compromise war-
ranty and manufacturer liability:
– Use the product only according to these instruc-
tions for use.
– Follow the safety and maintenance instructions.
– Ensure the manufacturer's approval before using
accessories that are not mentioned in the instruc-
tions for use.
¾Ensure that the product and its accessories are
operated and used only by persons with the requi-
site training, knowledge, or experience.
¾Keep the instructions for use accessible for the
user.
¾Always adhere to applicable standards.
¾Ensure that the electrical facilities in the room in
which the device is being used conform to IEC
norms.
¾Unplug the device by pulling the plug, but never by
pulling the power cord.
¾Do not operate the product in explosion-hazard
areas.
¾Do not use the product if it is damaged or defec-
tive. Set aside the product if it is damaged.
Note
This device can be used by children over the age of 8 as
well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capacities or with lack of experience and
knowledge, if these persons are supervised or have been
instructed on how to use the device safely, and if they
understand the risks associated with the use of the
device. Children must not play with the device. Clean-
ing and user-maintenance must not be carried out by
children without supervision.
If the mains power cord of this device is damaged, it
must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer ser-
vice, or a similarly qualified person to prevent any risks
or hazards.
2. Product description
2.1 Scope of Supply

The device ships without any blade. Instead, there is a
range of blades available for various applications!

2.2 Components required for operation

• Shearing head
2.3 Intended use
Note
The device is intended exclusively for cutting animal
hair.
The shearing machine Favorita II, Favorita Speed, Elec-
tra® II, Ehmann turbo-line® is used for shearing small
animals.
The device is used with a shearing head to be selected
according to the respective application.
2.4 Operating principle
The device is switched on (off) by pushing the ON/OFF
switch up (down).
3. Preparation and setup
Non-compliance with these rules will result in com-
plete exclusion of liability on the part of Aesculap.
¾Always observe the following guidelines when set-
ting up and operating the product:
– national regulations for installation and opera-
tion,
– national regulations on fire and explosion protec-
tion.
– operating advisories according to IEC-/VDE regu-
lations.
DANGER

¾Do not operate the product in
explosion-hazard areas.
CAUTION
Malfunction of, or damage to the
product caused by improper setup!
¾Do not expose the product to
direct sunlight or moisture.
¾Do not cover the ventilation
slots of the product.
¾Connect the product to the
specified voltage of 100 V to
240 V/50 Hz to 60 Hz.
¾Ensure that the mains power
socket used for supplying the
product is freely accessible.

4. Working with the device
4.1 System set-up
4.1.1 Connecting the accessories
Combinations of accessories that are not mentioned in
the present instructions for use may only be employed
if they are specifically intended for the respective
application, and if they do not compromise the perfor-
mance and safety characteristics of the products.
¾Please contact your B. Braun/Aesculap Partner or
Aesculap Technical Service - Address: see section
Technical Service.
4.1.2 Attaching the Blade
Note
The device ships without any blade. Instead, there is a
range of blades available for various applications!
¾Slide On/Off switch 3upward to switch on the
device.
¾Push lever 1towards the shell of the product.
¾Mount the shearing head on shearing adapter 2.
¾Release lever 1.
This completes the mounting of the shearing head.
4.2 Function Check
¾Carry out a visual inspection.
¾Check the switch position.
¾Mount the blade correctly and lubricate it if neces-
sary, see section Safe handling Shearing head.
¾Keep a charged Li-ion battery on hand, as reserve.
¾Clean the battery-powered shearing machine
FavoritaCL before use, see section Cleaning/disin-
fection.
4.3 Safe handling Shearing head
4.3.1 Adjusting the plate pressure
Note
The plate pressure can be adjusted to increase the cut-
ting power as required (see foldout page)!
¾Tighten knurled screw 14 so that upper cutting
plate 17 can be moved by hand, by applying mod-
erate, lateral pressure.
4.3.2 Sharpening the cutting plate
Note
For sharpening the cutting plate, please contact Tech-
nical Service, see section Technical Service.
4.3.3 Disassemble the shearing head
¾Loosen knurled screw 14 with leaf spring 15.
¾Push upper cutting plate 17 under pressure
piece 13 out of the shearing head.
This completes the mounting of the shearing head.

4.3.4 Lubricating the shearing head
¾Disassemble the shearing head, see section Disas-
semble the shearing head.
¾Clean upper cutting plate 17 and lower cutting
plate 18 with a soft wipe or brush. Make certain
the gaps in serration 16 are cleaned properly.
¾Slightly lubricate upper cutting plate 17 and lower
cutting plate 18 with special lubricant for shearing
heads GT604.
5. Reprocessing
5.1 Cleaning/disinfection
Note
Always follow disposal and hygiene instructions and
regulations!
Cleaning/disinfection
¾Wipe the shell of the product with a lint-free cloth
moistened with a commercial disinfectant for wipe
disinfection.
¾If necessary, after the appropriate exposure time,
wipe off any residues of the cleaning/disinfecting
agent with a lint-free cloth moistened with clean
water.
¾Dry the product with a clean, lint-free cloth.
¾Clean the contacts in the charging bay with isopro-
panol or ethyl alcohol and a cotton swab. Do not
use corrosive chemicals.
¾If necessary, repeat the cleaning/disinfecting pro-
cess.
Cleaning the air filter
Note
The air filter must be cleaned once a week or whenever
necessary!
¾Slide back and remove air filter 7.
¾Blow through or wash air filter 7.
¾Slide dry air filter 7into its seating.
CAUTION
Damage to, or destruction of the
product caused by mechanical
cleaning/disinfecting or steriliza-
tion!
¾Only clean and disinfect the
product manually.
¾Do not sterilize the product
under any circumstances.
DANGER
Risk of electric shock and fire haz-
ard!
¾Unplug the device before clean-
ing.
¾Ensure that no fluids will pene-
trate the product.
¾Leave the product exposed to
air for at least 1 minute after
cleaning/disinfecting.
CAUTION
Damage to the product due to
incorrect cleaning or inappropriate
cleaning/disinfecting agents!
¾Use any commercial detergent
for surface cleaning.
¾Never immerse the product in
water or detergent.
¾Do not introduce any fluid into
the charging bays.
¾Clean the contacts in the charg-
ing bays, applying extreme care.

5.2 Control, care and inspection
¾Allow the product to cool down to room tempera-
ture.
¾Inspect the product after each cleaning and disin-
fecting cycle to be sure it is: clean, functional, and
undamaged.
¾Lubricate the shearing head as appropriate, see
section Lubricating the shearing head.
¾To enhance the cutting power, adjust the plate
pressure as required, see section Adjusting the
plate pressure.
¾Check the product for any damage, abnormal run-
ning noise, overheating or excessive vibration.
¾Inspect the shearing head for broken, damaged or
blunt cutting edges.
¾Set aside the product if it is damaged.
6. Maintenance
To ensure reliable operation, Aesculap recommends
servicing the product at least once a year.

For decades, the name Aesculap has stood for proven
quality and first-class service. We are known to pro-
vide innovative, high-performance products for our
customers. Aesculap manufactures high-quality
devices and can assure you that it uses high-quality
materials and careful manufacturing processes. We
would like to point out to you that we are not liable for
defects in our products, if these are caused by
improper use, normal wear or are caused by the prod-
uct being improperly used or if inappropriate or not
properly functioning third-party products are used.
Parts that are typically subject to wear, and for which
we are therefore not liable, are the battery and shear-
ing head. Material defects that do not affect or only
negligibly affect the value or function of the product
are also excluded from our warranty.
If we are liable under our warranty, we reserve the
right to repair or replace the product.

1. Sichere Handhabung
¾Vor der Anwendung des Produkts Funktionsfähig-
keit und ordnungsgemäßen Zustand prüfen.
¾„Hinweise zur elektromagnetischen Verträglichkeit
(EMV)“ beachten.
¾Um Schäden durch unsachgemäßen Aufbau oder
Betrieb zu vermeiden und die Gewährleistung und
Haftung nicht zu gefährden:
– Produkt nur gemäß dieser Gebrauchsanweisung
verwenden.
– Sicherheitsinformationen und Instandhaltungs-
hinweise einhalten.
– Zubehör, das nicht in der Gebrauchsanweisung
erwähnt wird, nur mit Zustimmung des Herstellers
verwenden.
¾Produkt und Zubehör nur von Personen betreiben
und anwenden lassen, die die erforderliche Ausbil-
dung, Kenntnis oder Erfahrung haben.
¾Gebrauchsanweisung für den Anwender zugäng-
lich aufbewahren.
¾Gültige Normen einhalten.
¾Sicherstellen, dass die elektrische Installation des

Hinweis
Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren sowie Perso-

mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und
Wissen benutzt werden, wenn sie beaufsichtigt oder
bezüglich des sicheren Gebrauchs des Geräts unterwie-

2. Gerätebeschreibung
2.1 Lieferumfang
Hinweis
Der Scherkopf des Geräts ist nicht im Lieferumfang ent-
halten, da je nach Anwendung verschiedene Scher-
köpfe eingesetzt werden können.

2.2 Zum Betrieb erforderliche Kompo-

2.3 Verwendungszweck
Hinweis
Das Gerät ist nur zum Schneiden von Tierhaaren vorge-
sehen.
Die Schermaschine Favorita II, Favorita Speed,
Electra® II, Ehmann turbo-line® wird zum Scheren von
Kleintieren verwendet.
Das Gerät muss je nach Anwendung mit einem Scher-
kopf eingesetzt werden.
2.4 Funktionsweise
Das Gerät wird mit dem Ein-/Ausschalter nach oben
eingeschaltet und nach unten ausgeschaltet.
3. Vorbereiten und Aufstellen
Wenn die folgenden Vorschriften nicht beachtet wer-
den, übernimmt Aesculap insoweit keinerlei Verant-
wortung.
¾Beim Aufstellen und Betrieb des Produkts einhal-
ten:
– die nationalen Installations- und Betreiber-Vor-
schriften,

4. Arbeiten mit dem Gerät
4.1 Bereitstellen
4.1.1 Zubehör anschließen
Zubehörkombinationen, die nicht in der Gebrauchsan-
weisung erwähnt sind, dürfen nur verwendet werden,
wenn sie ausdrücklich für die vorgesehene Anwendung
bestimmt sind. Leistungsmerkmale sowie Sicherheits-
anforderungen dürfen nicht nachteilig beeinflusst
werden.
¾Bei Fragen wenden Sie sich an Ihren B. Braun/
Aesculap-Partner oder den Aesculap Technischen
Service, Adresse siehe Kapitel Technischer Service.
4.1.2 Scherkopf aufstecken
Hinweis
Der Scherkopf des Geräts ist nicht im Lieferumfang ent-
halten, da je nach Anwendung verschiedene Scher-
köpfe eingesetzt werden können.
¾Ein-/Ausschalter 3nach oben schieben, um Gerät
einzuschalten.
¾Hebel 1in Richtung Gehäuse drücken.
¾Scherkopf auf Scherkopfhalter 2aufstecken.
¾Hebel 1loslassen.
Der Scherkopf ist aufgesteckt.
4.2 Funktionsprüfung
¾Sichtprüfung durchführen.
¾Schalterstellung prüfen.
¾Scherkopf korrekt aufstecken und ggf. ölen, siehe
Kapitel Handhabung Scherkopf.
¾Geladenen Reserve-Li-Ionen-Akku bereithalten.
¾Akku-Schermaschine FavoritaCL/Libra vor
Gebrauch reinigen, siehe Kapitel Reinigung/Desin-
fektion.
4.3 Handhabung Scherkopf
4.3.1 Plattendruck einstellen
Hinweis
Um die Schneidleistung zu erhöhen, muss bei Bedarf
der Plattendruck reguliert werden, siehe Ausklappseite!
¾Rändelschraube 14 so stark anziehen, dass sich die
obere Schneidplatte 17 mit mittlerem Druck von
der Seite mit der Hand bewegen lässt.
4.3.2 Schneidplatte schleifen
Hinweis
Zum Schleifen der Schneidplatte an den Technischen
Service wenden, siehe Kapitel Technischer Service.
4.3.3 Scherkopf demontieren
¾Rändelschraube 14 mit Blattfeder 15 lösen.
¾Obere Schneidplatte 17 unter Druckstück 13 aus
Scherkopf schieben.
Der Scherkopf ist demontiert.

4.3.4 Scherkopf ölen
¾Scherkopf demontieren, siehe Kapitel Scherkopf
demontieren.
¾Mit weichem Lappen oder Pinsel obere 17 und
untere Schneidplatte 18 reinigen. Dabei sicherstel-
len, dass die Lücken zwischen den Zähnen 16 sau-
ber sind.
¾Obere 17 und untere Schneidplatte 18 leicht mit
Spezialöl für Schneidköpfe GT604 einölen.
5. Aufbereitung
5.1 Reinigung/Desinfektion
Hinweis
Entsorgungs- und Hygienevorschriften einhalten!
Manuelle Reinigung/Desinfektion
¾Gehäuse des Produkts mit einem flusenfreien Tuch,
das mit einem handelsüblichen Mittel zur Wisch-
desinfektion befeuchtet ist, abwischen.
¾Bei Bedarf Rückstände des Reinigungs- und Desin-
fektionsmittels nach dessen Einwirkzeit mit einem
in sauberem Wasser angefeuchteten, flusenfreien
Tuch abwischen.
¾Zum Trocknen sauberes, flusenfreies Tuch verwen-
den.
¾Kontakte in den Ladeschächten mit Isopropanol
bzw. Äthylalkohol und einem Wattestäbchen reini-
gen. Keine korrosionsfördernden Chemikalien ver-
wenden.
¾Falls nötig, Reinigung/Desinfektion wiederholen.
Luftfilter reinigen
Hinweis
Der Luftfilter muss entweder wöchentlich oder nach
Bedarf gereinigt werden!
¾Luftfilter 7nach hinten schieben und abnehmen.
¾Luftfilter 7ausblasen/auswaschen.
¾Trockenen Luftfilter 7aufschieben.

gung/Desinfektion oder Sterilisa-

5.2 Kontrolle, Pflege und Prüfung
¾Produkt auf Raumtemperatur abkühlen lassen.
¾Produkt nach jeder Reinigung und Desinfektion
prüfen auf: Sauberkeit, Funktion und Beschädi-
gung.
¾Scherkopf bei Bedarf ölen, siehe Kapitel Scherkopf
ölen.
¾Um die Schneidleistung zu erhöhen, bei Bedarf
Plattendruck einstellen, siehe Kapitel Plattendruck
einstellen.
¾Produkt auf Beschädigungen, unregelmäßige Lauf-
geräusche, übermäßige Erwärmung oder zu starke
Vibration prüfen.
¾Scherkopf auf abgebrochene, beschädigte und
stumpfe Schneiden kontrollieren.
¾Beschädigtes Produkt sofort aussortieren.
6. Wartung
Um einen zuverlässigen Betrieb zu gewährleisten,
empfiehlt Aesculap eine Wartung pro Jahr.
