OVERVIEW

The D2071 multi-interface tester extends its action field by adding the

capability to investigate the ISDN world. This is achieved with the ISDN71

module that integrates the Aethra long-time experience on ISDN in the new

generation modular tester.

The card is able to characterize the S/T interface completely, allowing a full

control of the communications occurring between TE and NT; the devices

themselves can be checked as well.

The available operating modes permit the simulation of both the Terminal

Equipment and the Network Termination; in addition to these ones, the

instrument can carry out a high impedance monitor on the S/T bus.

On the other hand, the background monitor allows the user to execute a

test and concurrently capture the D-channel signalling protocol. The

acquired trace can be immediately analyzed on the screen or uploaded to

a PC for further analysis.

The SMART STATUSTM feature provides the user of some immediate

information about the connection showing the ISDN Layer 1,2 and 3 status

in a detailed and clear way. Moreover, all B-channel relevant data like loop,

audio, called number, etc., are grouped in a specific page.

The tests dealing with the call, BER, X.25, loop-box, automatic check of the

access, help and lead the technician to a correct installation and a quick

troubleshooting.

The two hardware options (WT2071 and D1029) enrich the capabilities of

the user as they offer him further tests and simulations concerning the S/T

bus cabling and the check of the Terminal Equipment in standard and

emergency mode.
