About
The Guia Platinum is a GPS navigation system designed by AG-NAV Inc. for aerial
agricultural application.
It is a state-of-the-art system developed with the combination of latest technologies in
GPS, computers, wired and wireless data communications, and aerial applications.
The Platinum is a highly accurate, real-time navigation guidance system. It uses GPS
and Glonass signals received directly from a constellation of 24 satellites in orbit around
the Earth. This system can operate in conjunction with differential correction signals.
This Help is for the Guia Platinum Main Menu software version 2.15.4, released in
March 2021.
Note that the Guia Platinum is also called "Platinum" for short.

4. Main Menu
The Platinum Main Menu offers many items for
•Aerial Application
•File Management
•Multi-purpose Tools
•System Settings
•Device Tests, and
•Help
The Navigate, Training, File Manager and Tests are stand-alone modules. To execute
a module or item on the Main Menu, the user taps on the icon of the desired item.
Other icons shown at the top right corner of screen serve as indicators when USB key is
plugged in, system gets access to internet, or GPS signals received. Pilot should
always check the GPS signals before flying.

4.1 Navigate/Training
The Navigate module is a real-time program used to set up a spray area, enter
application settings, and start an application. The pilot will get guidance to fly the
predefined lines called grid lines, and spray the selected area. Navigate uses real time
GPS data for position and navigation.
The Training module simulates GPS data by using the Up, Down, Left, Right
keys on the keyboard. You can use the Training to learn all functions in the Navigate
module and to get yourself familiar with the Platinum operation before you fly.

manual.

4.2 File Manager
The File Manager provides functions for file operations.
For terminology, USB key, USB memory stick, USB stick, USB storage media mean the
same thing and are used interchangeably. Local hard drive and hard disk are the same
thing which is the physical data storage inside the Platinum.
The functions in File Manager are:
a) Copy spray areas and data from local hard drive to USB stick, and vice versa.
b) Back up all data files from local hard drive to USB stick.
c) Clean the local hard drive.
d) Delete spray areas and data on hard drive and USB stick.
e) Rename a spray area.
f) Duplicate a spray area.
g) View spray area information.
h) Format USB memory stick.
i) Make a flight report for viewing on Google Earth.
j) Export spray data in Shapefile format to a USB key for use in third-party software.
k) Import a mission or job created by AgMission webapp.
l) Make a new mission to store area files and data for your new mission.

4.3 Tools
The Tools module has the special functions for wireless data and file transfer.

4.4 Settings
The System Settings module is used to set up the Platinum for your preference and
internet access.
The System Settings must be done properly once after Platinum installation.
Manufacturer’s defaults will not work for wireless data communications such as AgNav
Link, Weather, aircraft tracking, SOS and AgMission. More instructions can be found in
Chapter 7.

4.5 Tests
The Tests module is used to test:
oCommunications with external devices
oLightbars used for guidance
oBoom Switches used for spray on/off
oGPS Receiver for GPS data
oFlow Controller (old AgFlow)
oFlow Meter
oUniversal Flow Controllers (UFC) for both liquid and granular materials

4.6 Main Help
The Help module provides information about the system and software. It also
provides tools for software update, remote troubleshooting and instructions to operate the
Guia Platinum Main Menu.
Use this manual to learn the functions in the Guia Platinum system.
Note: The Navigate and Training modules have their own help for more details and
instructions in navigation and application on an area.

4.7 Turn System Off
Whenever you want to turn off the Platinum system, tap on the Main Menu.
The system will perform the closing procedure and turn off the power by itself.
To avoid system file corruption, please wait until the system is off completely
before switching the power supply or breaker off.

5. File Manager
Tap on the Main Menu to run the File Manager.
Note that while running File Manager, do not unplug the USB key to avoid file
corruption or damage to the USB key.

5.1 Up/Down
The Control Menu is displayed at the bottom of screen. To change the Control Menu or
functions, tap or button.
You can use the remote keys to operate the functions. As shown in the picture
below, the left key can run <Copy>, the right key runs <Tag>, the up key runs <Up>, and
the down key runs <Down>. To change the Control Menu, push straight down on the
remote keys.
The Up and Down functions are used to move the cursor up and down respectively. Use
the Up and Down buttons on the remote keys when you can not reach the display.

5.2 Tag
The Tag function is used to tag or untag a selected item.
To select an item, tap on the item or filename. A check mark will be shown to
indicate the item is tagged. To deselect it, just tap the item again.
You can use the Right remote key to <Tag> the desired items when you can not reach the
display.

5.3 Copy
To copy areas or projects from hard drive to USB key; or vice versa, first tag the files to be
copied. Then tap <Copy>.
Note that even though you select only .no1, .prj or .shp files, all files (grid lines, exclusion
zones, spray data files, dbf, shx, etc…) associate with the selected areas and projects will
be copied as well.
