Riding in Rainy Weather
Try to avoid cycling in wet weather. Only ride in the rain when necessary.
The electric bike is not suitable for use in heavy rain or in places with
deep water. Do not immerse or submerge this product in water or liquid,
as the electrical system may be damaged.
Riding at Night
Riding at night should be done with extra caution. Cyclists can be hard to
spot in the dark by drivers and pedestrians, making night riding more
dangerous than riding during the day. Always remember, choosing
appropriate clothing and specific equipment to reduce the risk of injury
when riding under adverse conditions is important. Warning! Reflectors
cannot replace the required lights. Without the necessary lights and
reflective devices, it can be difficult for other cyclists and motorists to
see the rider. If riding at night, take all necessary precautions to make
yourself more visible through lights and reflectors. If the visibility of the
cyclist is too low, it may result in serious injury or death. Reflectors can
be used to reflect the light from cars and street lamps when the rider is
moving, helping you become clearer and more visible when riding.
Be extra careful when riding in wet weather;
Slow down to reduce risk;
Brake in advance, as it takes longer to slow down and stop compared to dry conditions;
Enhance your visibility. Wear reflective clothing, use approved lights;
Wet weather is more likely to cause road hazards, be cautious.
Do not leave the e-bike out in the rain.
·

The following measures are recommended:
WARNING
Regularly check the reflectors and their mounting brackets to ensure that the
reflectors are clean and firmly attached. Check and make sure you comply with all
local laws regarding night riding.
Charger Safety
Note
It is strongly recommended to pedal first,
then accelerate to ensure proper stability and preparation.
You can enhance your visibility by wearing reflective clothing and accessories. There
are many suitable reflective gear options such as vests, armbands, straps, stripes on
helmets, and flashing lights that can be attached to your person.
Ensure that your clothing or other items do not obstruct the visibility of your reflective
devices and lights.
Make sure your bike is equipped with reflectors.
Slow down when cycling at night.
·
·
·
·
The charger should only be used indoors, in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, on a flat
and stable surface.
Avoid the charger encountering liquids, dust, debris, or metallic objects, and do not
cover the characters when in use.
Store or use the charger in a safe place out of reach of children.
Charging the battery fully before each use can help extend the battery life and reduce
the number of times it is excessively used.
Do not use any charger other than the one originally provided by AIMA, or a charger
specifically designed for bicycles purchased directly from AIMA to charge the battery.
The charger operates on a standard 110/240V 50/60Hz household AC power outlet and
automatically detects and calculates the input voltage. Do not open the charger or
modify the voltage input.
·
·
·
·
·
·
05

Only use the original charger provided by AIMA or a charger purchased directly from
AIMA to charge the battery. This charger is approved by AIMA and specifically
designed for your specific bicycle serial number. Do not use other brands of chargers,
as they may cause damage, serious injury, or death.
Do not move or pull the charger's wires. When charging is finished, carefully remove
the AC and DC wires by pulling directly on the plastic plug rather than the wire.
The charger will become relatively hot during charging. If the charger becomes too hot
to touch, emits strange odors, or shows any other signs of overheating, stop using the
charger and contact the AIMA support department.
·
·
Read the procedures and safety information detailed in this manual carefully before
charging your bike. Failure to follow the correct charging procedures may result in
damage to the bike, charger, or personal property, and can lead to serious injury or
death.

All users must read and understand this manual before riding a Big Sur Bike. Additional
manuals may also be provided for parts used on the bike, which should be read before
installing or using these parts.
Make sure you understand all instructions, safety precautions, and warnings.
Before first use, ensure the bike fits you. If the bike is too big or too small, you may lose
control or fall.
Always wear a qualified bicycle helmet when riding. Follow the helmet manufacturer's
instructions for wearing and maintaining your helmet. Riding without a helmet could
result in serious injury or death.
Before using the bike for the first time, make sure it is set up correctly, tightened and
torqued to the recommended values, and regularly check the setup and safety status of
parts and hardware.
You must be familiar with the laws and requirements for bicycles in your area.
Ensure the handlebar grips are in good condition and correctly installed. Loose or
damaged grips can cause the vehicle to lose control and fall.
07

Do not use this product with standard bicycle trailers, standard frames, or accessories,
as Big Sur has not tested their safety and compatibility, nor verified their safety and
compatibility.
Off-road riding may involve uncertain risks. Wear appropriate safety gear and do not
ride alone in remote areas. Check local laws regarding whether off-road riding is
allowed.
Do not engage in extreme riding. This includes, but is not limited to, jumping, stunts, or
any riding beyond your ability. Although many articles, ads, and catalogs describe
extreme riding, it is not recommended or allowed. If you engage in extreme riding, you
may be seriously injured or killed.
Bicycles and bicycle parts have strength and intensity limits, and should not be used for
extreme riding, including but not limited to jumping, stunts, etc., as this may damage
bicycle parts or cause dangerous riding conditions, which could result in serious injury
or death.
Failure to verify the correct installation, compatibility, correct operation, or mainte-
nance of any parts or accessories could result in serious injury or death.
After any accident, the bike needs to be checked for safety until a thorough check of all
parts, functions, and operations of the bike is carried out by an experienced bike repair
master.
The warranty will be void if the battery is not correctly charged, stored, or used.
Before each ride, check if the braking motor can cut off the power. The brake system is
equipped with a suppressor that cuts off the power of the electric motor as soon as you
brake. Before riding, check if the brake motor cut-off function is working properly.
Extra care should be taken when using pedal assist sensors and throttles on this
product. Ride after familiarizing yourself with the operation of pedal assist devices and
throttles to ensure immediate start-up when pedaling.
Before using the bike, the user must understand the operation of the thumb switch
throttle and pedal assist sensor and must be careful to travel at speeds suitable for the
riding environment, riding conditions, and user experience level. Maintain the lowest
assistance level until you feel comfortable driving the bike and confident in controlling
the power.
Any after-sales modification to your bike by AIMA without explicit approval may void
the warranty and pose a riding hazard.
Electric bicycles are heavier and faster than regular bicycles, so extra care is needed
when riding.
Extra care should be taken when riding in wet conditions, it is advisable to reduce
speed and increase braking distance. The bike is more likely to slip under wet condi-
tions, which could lead to serious injury or death.

WARNING
Like any sport, riding a bicycle carries the risk of damage, injury, and death.
Choosing to ride a bicycle means accepting the responsibility for this risk, so
riders need to ride safely, know the rules of cycling, and properly use and maintain
this bicycle. Proper use and maintenance of the bicycle can reduce the risk of
injury and death. Never operate a bicycle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Big Sur is suitable for people over 18 years old. Riders must have the physical
condition, reaction time, and stamina to ride safely, manage traffic conditions,
and handle emergencies, and must comply with the laws for the use of electric
bicycles, regardless of age. If you have an injury or disability, such as a visual
impairment, hearing impairment, physical disability, cognitive or language
impairment, epilepsy, or any other physical condition that may affect your safe
operation of the vehicle, please consult a doctor before riding a bicycle.
WARNING
Big Sur is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or product failures resulting
from any unauthorized changes, modifications, or tampering with any part of the
original specifications.
Tips for Parents and Guardians
As a parent or guardian, you are responsible for your child's activities and safety. Big
Sur is not suitable for children under 18. If passengers are carried with a child safety
seat, they should also wear a suitable helmet.
Assembly and Installation
Proper assembly and installation are fundamental to ensuring the safety
and comfort of your cycling experience. Even if riders can assemble the
bicycle independently, Big Sur still recommends finding a qualified bicy-

Using non-original parts or spares can jeopardize the safety of your bicycle, impede
warranty, and may also result in the bicycle not complying with local bicycle regula-
tions. You bear the risks associated with replacing original components or installing
third-party accessories or attachments not provided by AIMA. Using aftermarket
accessories or components not tested by AIMA for safety and compatibility may
create unsafe riding conditions, damage AIMA's property or your bicycle, and may
lead to serious injury or death.
Replacement of Parts or Additional Attachments
cle assembly master to inspect the assembly of the bicycle.
Compulsory Equipment and Use Location
Before riding, ensure that all required and recommended safety equip-
ment is met and comply with all local laws related to the use of electric
bicycles. For example, the law may stipulate the need for mandatory
equipment, the installation of license plates, or the areas where riding is
permitted.
Big Sur bicycles use a bolted axle and quick-release connection for the
front wheel, and a bolt connection for the rear wheel. These devices may
become loose during transport or over time. The torque and safety of all
wheel installation hardware should be checked regularly. Both wheels
need to be properly secured before riding the bicycle.
Note
If you do not have the experience and tools to complete the assembly,
Big Sur strongly advises having a professionally experienced assembly master help
with the assembly and tuning.
Note
A crucial step in assembling the bicycle is securing the front wheel and checking
the tightness of the rear wheel axle nut.
10

Pre-Ride Safety Check
Electrical System
The electrical system powers several components on your E-Bike,
controlling various operating conditions and user preferences. Most
importantly, you need to familiarize yourself with the electrical system
of your e-bike and check whether it is working properly before each ride.
Both the front and rear brake levers contain safety power cut-off switch-
es, which disable the hub motor assist when used and should be checked
for correct operation of both levers. Gradual throttle rotation should
result in smooth acceleration. If the throttle doesn't rotate, the pedal
assist device or lighting device intermittently malfunctions, or fails, stop
using your E-Bike immediately and contact the AIMA support team for
help.
Brakes
Make sure that the brakes and their system components are undamaged,
correctly fixed, and functioning properly. Neither the front nor the rear
brake levers should touch the handlebars. If you find any issues with the
brakes, take the bicycle to an experienced bicycle repairer for fixing.
If you are unsure about how to conduct a comprehensive check on the
condition of your bicycle before each ride, in addition to performing
regular maintenance, you should also check the condition of the bicycle
before riding. You should seek help from an experienced bicycle repai rer.
11

Tires and Wheels
The wheels should always rotate in a straight line; if they sway side to
side or bob up and down during rotation, they need to be repaired or
replaced. If the wheel becomes unstable or the spokes are loose, this
may affect normal use. It is recommended to have a bicycle repairman
make all wheel adjustments and truing for your bicycle. Unless you have
sufficient knowledge, tools, and experience, do not attempt to true the
wheel or tighten the spokes. Ensure that the tires and inner tubes are in
good condition, with no visible damage, and that the air pressure is
stable. Be sure to replace punctured or cut tires and inner tubes. Riding
with damaged tires or tires without proper air pressure will decrease
performance, increase wear on the tires and components, and make
riding the bicycle unsafe.
Accessories
Ensure all hardware is secured, and all approved accessories are correct-
ly connected as per the specific component manufacturer's instructions.
It's best to first check all hardware and accessories; if you find any prob-
lems or are unsure, seek help from an experienced bicycle repairer.
12

Forks, Handlebars, Grips, and Seat Adjustment
The forks on your bicycle can affect its handling, so it's necessary to
understand how they work before use. Adjust the fork appropriately
according to your weight and terrain. Ensure the handlebars and stem
are aligned to suit the user and tightened to the recommended torque
value. Handlebar grips should not move easily on the ends of worn
handlebars. Damaged handlebars should be replaced before riding, and
the seat and seat post should be correctly aligned. Before riding, the seat
post clamp should be appropriately tightened, fully closed, and secured.
Battery charging and installation
Make sure the battery is sufficiently charged and operates normally.
Ensure the battery charger is unplugged from the socket and stored in a
safe place before riding. Before use, the battery must be correctly locked
in the battery slot. If the battery has been removed, do not operate the
electrical system. When installing the battery into the battery slot, press
it in hard until you hear a "click".
