Wiring Instructions
Use caution when wiring your solar system. Light creates live
power. To connect always connect the battery first, positive
then negative. Once battery is connected, attach solar panel.
To disconnect always disconnect the panel first, then battery.
AIMS Power recommends using 10 AWG waterproof PV wire
and good quality MC4 connectors. NOTE POLARITY.
The battery input cable includes MC4 connectors to keep
the charge controller waterproof. You can use an extender
cable (MC4 to lug ends) for your application. If you don’t
need an extender, simply cut off the MC4 connectors on the
battery output cable and add lugs. Make sure all
connections are tight and are good quality.

Recommendations During Use
The controller generates heat during operation. AIMS Power
recommends installing the charge controller in an
environment with good ventilation.
Check your connections often. Make sure wires and MC4
connectors are in good condition and securely connected.
Charge controller is waterproof. Ensure wire is also
waterproof.
It is important to fully charge the battery at least one full
charge every month. Failure to do so may cause permanent
damage to the battery. When charging the battery, make sure
the load on the battery is lower than the charge rate so the
battery gets a full charge. Incorporating a voltage meter into
your system is recommended.
If you don’t need to extend the battery cable, simply cut off
the MC4 connectors and connect battery lugs. Not the
polarity. Do NOT reverse. This will void the warranty.
