Please read these instructions carefully before using the box.
1. FUNCTIONS
ECO FUNCTION
The box has an ECO function compliant with the regulations in force.
This means that when used for cooling with 230 V, you can choose the
ECO or the MAX mode for cooling the box (separate switch).
NOTE! If you use the box for cooling with 12V or for warming with
either 12 V or 230 V, the position of the ECO/MAX switch position does
not have any impact as the box always operates in MAX mode in these
cases.
COOLING
The box operates best when the empty box is already cool and the
food and beverages to be added have also already been cooled down
before being put into the box. This way, they will stay cool and even
cool down more. If the products to be put into the box are at room
temperature, cooling down will take a couple of hours. When using the
ECO mode, the temperature decrease will be 8–14°C below the
ambient temperature and in MAX mode down to 18°C below the
ambient temperature. In the ECO mode, you save approx. 60 % of
energy.
2. START AND STOP
Before using the box, check that the HOT/COLD switch is set to O (= no
power).
a) 12V/DC use
The box has a fixed 12V/DC power cord (2m). Connect the other end of
the power cord e.g. to the socket of a car cigarette lighter. Switch on
the box by turning the switch from the O position to either HOT for
warming or COLD for cooling according to your needs. The box starts
to operate. Note that no matter what the position of the ECO/MAX
switch, the box will always operate in MAX mode when used with 12 V.
Switch off the box by turning the switch back to O. As an additional
product, a so-called van adapter for 24V-12V is available for purchase,
Airam nr: 9300205, EAN: 6435200112491.
For using the box in a car when the motor is not running, you can
purchase an additional “battery guard” that will prevent the car battery
from dying. The product number for the separately sold battery guard
is 9300250, EAN 6435200112798. Never connect the 12V connection
cable directly to the mains current (230V)
b) 230V/AC use
The box is delivered with a separate AC/230V power cord (1,75 m).
Connect the one end of the cord to the 220V-230V connector socket in
the lid of the box. After that, connect the other end of the cord to the
mains current. Switch on the box by turning the switch from the O
position to either HOT for warming or COLD for cooling according to
your needs. The box starts to operate. If you want to use the box for
cooling, choose the ECO or MAX mode on the box lid (see section
Cooling above). If you wish to use the box for warming, the position of
the ECO/MAX switch has no impact as the box will always work in MAX
mode in this case. Switch off the box by turning the switch to O.
3. SAFETY
1. When using the box, make sure that there is sufficient ventilation
for the motor. Do not use the box in closed spaces or in a car trunk.
Never leave the box in direct sunlight.
2. Do not block the motor’s air channels on the lid. Leave at least 10
cm free space in front of the ventilator.
3. Avoid using colouring products and do not use products
containing acid, gasoline or alcohol for cleaning the surfaces of the
box.
4. Do not use any damaged or tangled cord.
5. When the box is used in hot or humid ambient conditions,
condensation is formed inside the box. This is not a fault in
operation. Wipe clean with a dry cloth.
6. Only the importer may repair the box, otherwise the warranty is
void.
7. Do not pour any liquids onto the box whilst in operation: risk of
electric shock.
8. Do not allow children to use the box without supervision.
9. Do not place any electric equipment into the box.

10. You may use the box for excursions. Do not leave in the rain. Avoid
direct sunlight.
4. MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
1. Unplug the power cord from the power source before cleaning the
box.
2. Remove grease with e.g. dishwashing liquid.
3. Wipe away small amounts of dirt with a damp cloth.
4. Do not clean with water.
5. Remove the dirt in the air inlet openings first with a vacuum
cleaner or a brush and then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
5. FAULTS IN OPERATION
Please check the following before sending the box to be serviced:
The box does not work and the fan does not move.
1. Make sure that the power cord is connected.
2. Ensure that the fuse of the box’s plug is undamaged.
3. Check that the cigarette lighter plug has power. In most vehicles,
the car key has to be in the so-called “accessory position” in order
for the lighter to work.
4. Check that the cigarette lighter plug has proper contact. The
contact surfaces may be contaminated with burnt cigarette bits
weakening the ability to conduct electricity. Clean the lighter
connection with a non-conducting brush and a suitable cleaning
agent until the contact surfaces are clean and clear. If the cigarette
lighter plug heats up more than normally during operation, the
contact may be bad or there is a fault inside the connection.
5. The circuit of the car’s cigarette lighter is protected with a separate
fuse. Make sure that the fuse is undamaged.
FAULT 1: Cooling is not efficient enough when using the mains
current. Check first which mode is in use, ECO or MAX (see section
Cooling above). Cause: weak contact of the plug / the device has been
left in direct sunlight / ventilation has been blocked or stopped / the
device is used in a too tight space.
FAULT 2: Strange sound or vibration. Cause: fault in operation. Unplug
from the power source immediately and send the device in to be
serviced.
FAULT 3: The equipment smells burnt or the box has melted. Cause:
overheating. Unplug from the power source immediately and send the
device in to be serviced.
WARRANTY: 5 years from the date of purchase, the receipt must be
shown. The warranty covers possible material or production faults
provided that the product has been used in accordance with the
instructions. The warranty does not cover any damages caused by user
errors, carelessness or accidents.
