This user guide contains all the information you need to know about how to
setup and watch available free view Channels using your set top box.

What is Freeview?
It is thenew, free digital service currently providing up to thirty digital channels,
over twenty digitalradio stations plus a whole new world of interactiveservices. It
is broadcast fromtransmitters and is received via a rooftop aerial.Freeview works
like traditional TV, but becausethe signals are digital you need a set topbox or
interactive digital TVto convert them. This means more channels can be
transmitted with extrafeatures such as interactivity and widescreen pictures.

Safety Information
Position the cables so that they cannot be walked on or pinched by items
placed on or against them.
Do not usethe set top box in humidor damp conditions.

Do not place naked flame sources, such as candles, on the top of the set
top box.
Cleaning
ALWAYS unplug theset top box before you cleanit.
Do not useliquid or aerosol cleaners.
Clean the settop box with a soft, damp(not wet) cloth.
Ventilation
The slots and openings on the set top box are for ventilation. Do not cover
or block them as it may cause overheating.
NEVER let childrenpush anything into the holes orslots on the case.
Servicing
There are nouser serviceable parts in this settop box.
When servicing, referto qualified service personnel.
Consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt about the installation, operation
or safety of this unit.

Battery Care
Do not breakopen or throw on a fireexhausted batteries.
If batteries leak remove immediately,clean out anyresidue with warm soapy water,
do NOT allowwater to enterthe main body of the RemoteControl, dry thoroughly
before fitting newbatteries.
Do not throwold batteries in the domestic waste.Contact your local waste authority for
disposal instructions.

Installing the Batteries
Remove the battery cover from the remote control and put 2XAAA size batteries
inside the compartment.
The diagram inside the battery compartment shows the correct way to install the
batteries.

Using the RemoteControl
Touse the remote control, point ittowards the front of the digital set top box
The remote controlhas a range of up to7 metres from the set top box at an angle
of up to60 degrees.
The remote controlwill not operate if its path is blocked.

Remote Key Function:
1. DTV/VCR Used to switch betweenthe VCR SCARTinput
and the DTV outputmode.
2. MUTE Used to turn the sound on or off.
3. P+: Used to changing thechannels.
4. PAUSE Used to pause orplayback the program being
viewed .
5. P-: Used changing the channels.
6. EXIT Used to return tothe previous screen ormenu.
7. OK Used to confirm aselection within a menu.
8. CURSORS(Up/Down/Left/Right): Used to move around
the menu screens.
9. INFO Used to display informationabout the channel being
viewed or further informationabout the program whenin
small EPG screen.
10 FAVORITE Used to access yourfavourite channels.
11. RECALL Used to switch betweenthe last two viewed
channels.
12. LANGUAGE Used to switch betweendifferent audio
languages that are broadcasted.
13. WIDE: Used to change theTV picture aspect.
14. STANDBY Used to switch the set top box toon and off.
15. VOL+ Used to changing thevolume.
16. VOL- Used to changing thevolume.
17. MENU Used to open themain menu window.
18. EPG Used to display informationabout the program being
viewed and what's onnext.
19. NUMBER KEYS Used to select channelnumbers or input
numbers in menus.
20. TEXT:Used to open interactivedigital teletext display if
teletext available in thebroadcasted stream.
21. SUBTITLE: Used to switch almongdifferent subtitles that
are broadcasted.
22. COLOR KEYS(Red/Green/Yellow/Blue):Used to operate
different functions inTEXT screen or othermenus.
Note: SUBTITLE/TEXT/LANGUAGE may not be available
for all channels.

Getting Started

Turn on the Tv setand select thecorresponding AV input ( with theAV key, or
Similar on theremote control. Some Tv's will switchautomatically.
Turn on the main powersupply to the STB, the indicatoron the front of the unitwill
turn red andthen green. In standby mode, theindicator light will be red. In
working mode, theindicator light will be green.
If you usethe STB for the first timeor have deleted all channels information
in the STB,a "TV Setting" menu displays.
Press "LEFT" or"RIGHT" cursor button to choose either"16:9" or "4:3".
Press "OK" button to continue installation, a confirmation message
window displays asright.
Press "LEFT" or"RIGHT" cursor button to highlight "confirm".
Pres s "OK" button to continue. " Scan Progress" menu will appear and list
the channels as they are found. A bar appears below the listing panel that
indicates the progressof the channel search.
When all available radio and television channels have been found, the
channel at thetop of the list will beviewed.
Switching on forthe first time

Automatic channel scan
1) Press the"MENU" button to enter the mainmenu of the STB.
2) Press the"UP" or "DOWN" cursor button toselect Channel Search
3) Press the"OK" button to enter the sub-menu.
4) Highlight the"Search Type"and press "LEFT" or "RIGHT" cursorbutton to
select "Auto scan".
5) Press th"OK" button to startsearching.
6) Press "EXIT"button to quit.
Manual channel scan
1) Press the"MENU" button to enter the mainmenu of STB.
2) Press the"UP " or"DOWN" cursor select "Channel Search"
3) Press the"OK" Button to enter the sub-menu.
4) Highlight the"Search Type"and press "LEFT" or "RIGHT" cursorto select
"Manual Scan".
5) Press "DOWN"cursor to select "Channel No" section,and enter desired
Channel Number.
6) Press the"OK" button to start searching.
7) Press "EXIT"buttonto quit.
Note: When thesearch is finished, the first channelof the channel list is displayed
you can nowwatch digital terrestrial televison.

Many aspects ofyour STB can be set toreflect your circumstances and
preference. The SystemSetting menu isaccessed from main menu.
A/V Setting
This menu allowsthe users to set TV shape,Video Output andOSD Transparency.
1), Press the"MENU" button to enter the mainmenu of the STB,
2), Press the"UP" or "DOWN" cursor to selectSystem Setting,
3), Press the"OK" button to enter the sub-menu,
4), Press "UP"or "DOWN" button to select "A/VSetting" and Press "OK" button to
enter its sub-menu.

OSD Transparencyrange: 0~100%
5), Press "UP"or "DOWN" button to select thedesired item and press "LEFT" or"
RIGHT" button toselect desired setting,
6), Press "MENU"button to return the upper menuand "EXIT" button to quit.
System Setting

Antenna Power
This menu allowsusers to active the antenna powersupply for external active
antenna.
1, Enter theSystem Setting menu, press "UP" or"DOWN" cursor to highlight the
Antenna Power menu.
2, Press "OK"button to enter the AntennaPower menu,
3, Press "LEFT"or "RIGHT" cursor to to setthe status to "ON" or "OFF",
4, Press "OK"button to save the setting andquit, press the "EXIT" button toquit
without save thesetting.
Do NOT Selectthis feature ifyou do NOThave an antenna amplifier connected,
You may damage thisproduct.
First Time Installation
This menu allowsthe user to delete all existingchannels in the STB, and resetthe
STB to factorydefault setting.
1),Enter the SystemSetting menu, press "UP" or "DOWN"button to highlight the
"First TimeInstallation".
2),Press "OK" buttonto confirm, a confirmation window appears.
3),Press "LEFT" or"RIGHT" cursor to highlight "Confirm" icon,press"OK" button
to start firsttime installation.
4),Or Highlight "Exit"icon, press "OK" button to cancelthe first time installation.
System Info
This menu allowsusers to view the software versionand hardware version of the
STB.
1),Enter the SystemSetting menu, press "UP" or "DOWN"cursor to highlight the
System Info menu.
2),press "OK" buttonto open up the information box.You can view thesoftware

Change Pin Code
This menu allows users to change pin code
1), Enter the System Setting menu, press "UP" or "DOWN" cursor to highlight the
Change Pin Code menu.
2), Press "OK" button to enterthe sub-menu.
3), Enter the old pin codeusing the numeric buttons(Default pin code is 888888).
4), Press "UP" or "DOWN" cursorto select "New Pin Code" and enter six new
numbers with numeric buttons(0~9).
5), Press"UP"or "DOWN" cursor to select "Enter Again",and enter the new pin
code again with numeric buttons(0~9).
6), Press "OK" button OK toconfirm the changed pin code.
Software Update
This menu allows users to update the software version.
1, Enter the System Setting menu,press "UP" or "DOWN" cursor to highlight the
Software Update menu.
2, Press "OK" button to enterthe sub-menu,
Auto Mode:
1),Enter the software update menu, press "UP" or "DOWN"cursor to highlight
Auto Mode.
2),Press "OK" button to enterAuto Mode menu,
3),Press "LEFT" or "RIGHT" cursor to set the status to "ON",
4),Press "UP" or "DOWN" cursor toselect Start Time. Use the numeric button to
enter the time in HH:MM mode.
5),Press "OK" button to save thesetting and quit, then the system will start auto
update at the set time.

Manual Mode:
1) Enter theSoftware Update menu, press "UP" or"DOWN" cursor to highlight
Manual Mode.
2) Press "OK"button to enter Manual Mode menu.
3) Press "LEFT"or "RIGHT" cursor to highlight "Scan"icon.
4) Press "OK"button to start updating.
5) Press "Exit"button to quit.
Changing Channels
There are fourways of channel selection - steppingthrough the channel list,
selection by number, from the on-screen channel list,and using the Channel
Schedule.
1,Stepping through thechannel list:
Press the "P+"button to browse up and the"P-" button to browse down the
available channels.
2, Selection bynumber:
Enter the completechannel number directly by remote controlto select desired
channel.
3, Selection byon-screen channels list:
You can also selectthe desired channel directly from on-screenchannel list. This
is displayed usingthe STB's

a), Press the"MENU" button to enter main menuof the STB.
b), Press the"UP" or "Down" cursor to select"Channel List".
c), Press the"OK" button to enter the channellist menu.
d), Press "UP"or "DOWN" cursor to highlight thedesired channel.
e), Press "OK"button to preview the selected channel.
f), Press "EXIT"button to quit the channel listand view the cahnnel of fullscreen.
4, Selection byChannel Schedule:
You can also selectthe desired channel directly from ChannelSchedule. This is
displayed by pressingthe "EPG" button on the remotecontrol. The Channel
Schedule provides theusers with a brief description ofthe programme on the
currently selected channeland lists the current channels.
1),Press the "EPG"button to enter the Channel Schedule.
2),Press the "P+"or "P-" cursor to select thedesired channel, the screen switches
to the programmeon thecurrently selected channel.
3), Press "EXIT" button toquit the Channel Schedule and viewthe channel on full
screen.
Recall
You can switch tothe previous viewed channel by pressing"RECALL" button.

Volume Control
The volume levelof the STB can be alteredwith the "VOL+" or "VOL-" button on
the remote control.
You can silence thesound from the receiver by pressing the "MUTE" button.The
sound remain muteduntil the "MUTE" button is pressed again,or until the"VOL+"
or "VOL-" buttonis pressed, or until the receiver is turned off and on again.
Teletext
Press "TEXT" buttonto Open/Close the interactive digital text.
Subtitle
Press "SUBTITLE" buttonto switch the programmes subtitle to On/Off.
Displaying program information
You can read thecurrent program information by pressing "INFO" button on the
remote control, thenthe program information table will automatically remove in
3~5 seconds.
TV Format
You can change theTV picture aspect by pressing "WIDE" button repeatedly on
the remote control.
When you set"TV shape" to "4:3" in theSystem Setting->A/V Setting menu, you
can switch theTV format to"FullFrame","Pan&Scan" or "LetterBox". But when set
to "16:9", canswitch to "Auto", "FullFrame", "VerticalCut" or "PillarBox".
Pausing the currentpicture
You can freeze thecurrent picture by pressing "PAUSE"button on the remote
control. Press thebutton again to switching the current broadcasting program.
Note: the broadcastbetween these two pauses will be skipped.

From the channelschedule(EPG,Electronic Programme Guide), you can change
channels available, checkprogramme information, access one-week programme
schedule which detailsthe times and programmes for thenext seven days.
1, Press the"EPG" button to enter the ChannelSchedule.
2, Press "CH+"or "CH-" button to preview thecurrent programme on the selected
channel, and checkthe current programme information.
3, Press "LEFT"or"RIGHT" cursor to navigate the programlists in next seven
days.
4, Press "UP"or "DOWN" cursorto highlight the desired programme.
5, Press "OK"button to add the reminder,then reminder icon will appear
alongside the selectedprogramme, press "OK" button again toremove the
reminder. Whenthe reminder programme is about tostart, a reminder window will
appear.
6, Press "EXIT"button to quit the channel schedule.
Note: The currentbroadcasting programme cannot be set to the reminderevent.
Channel Schedule

The Channel Listpresents a list of all channelsfound during the channel search.
From the ChannelList you can watch and listento the selected channels, delete
them from thelist, set a password to accessthe channel.
1),Press "MENU "button to enter the main menuof the STB.
2), Press "UP"or "DOWN" cursor to highlight the"Channel List"
3), Press "OK"button to enter Channel List menu.
4), Press "UP"or "DOWN" cursor to highlight achannel.
5), Press "OK"button to preview the selected channel.
6), Press "EXIT"button to quit the channel listmenu and view the channel onfull
screen.
Delete a channel:
1),Enter the channellist menu, press "UP" or "DOWN"cursor to select a channel.
2),Press "Yellow" button todelete the selectedchannel
Lock/Unlock a channel:
1), Enter thechannel list menu, press "UP" or"DOWN" cursor to select your
desired channel.
2), Press "Blue"button, you are asked to enterthe pin code.
3), Enter acorrect pin code using the numericbuttons, press "OK" button to
confirm.(the default pincode is 888888)
4),Then a locksymbol displays alongside the selected channel,it shows that the
channel has beenlocked.
5), Repeat step1)2)3) to remove the lock symbol.
6), Press "EXIT"button to quit the channel list.
