General information BT 1000
The headsetBT1000 is acomfortablytowear wireless hands-free headsetfor mobile phones thatare
equipped withBluetoothTM technology.This newBluetoothTM technologygives you theopportunityto pair
mobile phones ofanybrand withBluetoothTM technologysuch as i.e.Nokia 6310,Ericsson T39,T68,
Sony-Ericsson T68i or Philips Fisio 820 with BluetoothTM hands-free headsets.
Package includes:
• Headset with integrated BluetoothTM technologyand Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery
• Charging station to charge theheadset and for storing
• Adaptor to fix the chargingstation in your car
• Adaptor 12V to connect the charging station in your car
• Wall charger 230V
• Neck strap for headset
Hint: The headset canalsobe used in connectionwith theaudio gatewayBT2000 and regular phones and
vice versa.
Please use onlythe supplied accessories. Operatethecharging station onlyin connection with
the speciallydesignedwall charger or the approvedoriginaladapter for yourvehicle, other
chargers maydamage theheadset or the chargingstation, besides this theyarenot permitted.
Never open the headset or try to change or even open the lithium battery by yourself!

Important advice to prepare the headset before wearing on your ear
The headsetis being delivered folded up.The samepositionis usedfor
chargingin the charging station or for storing. Towear it on your ear
please turn the microphone arm(1) as indicated downwards.The
earhook(2) is flexibleattheend sothat it canbe adjustedtothe
individual ear shape.
Towear iton your ear fold the earhook(3) backwards for no more than 1 or 2 cm.
The earhook(3) can be adjusted in the rear part (4) sothat it fits perfectlyto your ear.
The headsetis simplyhunguponthe right ear (5). Itwill fit comfortably,ifyouadjust theflexible part ofthe
earhook(4, 5) to your ear’sshape.
Hint: Please refrain fromfoldingout the earmount anyfurther than necessary.There shouldonlybe enough
space between the headsetand your ear to ensure acomfortable position.Under no circumstances should
the earmount be folded like the microphone!
Use of the BT 1000 inyour vehicle and first
charging
Operation inyour vehicle: Ifyouplantouse the
BluetoothTM headset exclusivelyin your vehicle, fix the
mobile adaptor (i. e. withadhesive tape) in asuitable
positioninyour vehicle and connectthecharging
stationvia the included adaptor cable with thecigar
lighter in your car .Foldup the BluetoothTM headset andputitinthe

charging stationallowing one hour chargingtime before first use.
It can be useful to carryoutthe first charging at a230V mains supply.
Charging starts the moment the headsetis beingplaced in thecharging station. 1.5 to 2.5 hours are being
neededto fullycharge a completelyemptyBT1000. The left indicator light gives you information ofthestate
ofcharging. (red =charging, green=battery full). With the headset switchedon theindicator lightwill
be green when charging is finished,followed by a short red flashing once per second.
• Operation at the 230Vmains supply:Use the chargingadaptor as acharging
station. Place the wall charger in a230V socket and place thehollow pluginthe
marked socket ofthe charging adaptor. (The top socket is blocked because it is
designed for aspecialadaptor for regular telephones that are not equippedwith
BluetoothTM technologyand is not available in Europe).
• Youcanreducethe chargingtimebyswitching off the BluetoothTM headset
before charging (in direction ofthe arrow).
Connecting the mobile phone to your BluetoothTM Headset
Your mobile phone canestablish aconnectionthat protects youfrom eaves-dropping. Todo sothetelephone
needs information to identifyyour BluetoothTM headset as its exclusive partner. This procedure is called
„pairing“. This is veryimportant because you don`t want any other BluetoothTM headsets in your vicinityto
coincidentallybe connectedwithyour telephone or vice versa.
Pairing your mobile phone
ConnectingofBluetoothTM accessories withyour mobile phonedepends ontherespectiveinstallationmenue
ofyour mobilephone. Please refer to the operationsmanual of yourphone. Read the instructions for the
pairing procedures, issuedbythe mobile phonemanufacturers. You mayalso find the latest updated
instructions ontheinternet pages ofthe mobilephone manufacturers.
For pairing it is important to have the BluetoothTM headset charged and readyto switch it on next to your
mobile phone.
Before registeringyour newBluetoothTM headsetat your mobile phone, the headset has to be preparedfor
being connected toamobile phone.This is beingdone by reset. The first step is to switch off the headset,

thenswitchitonagainand press all3keyssimultaneously for about 3seconds.Nowyoucanhear ashort
melodyfor confirmation.Release thekeys.Finally,switch theheadset1x off and on again withtheslide
switch. Your BluetoothTM headset is readyfor pairingwith your mobile phone.
On themobilephone’s sideYou start thepairingprocedure as described intheuser manual ofYour phone.
Within the setup menu Your phonewill search for active BluetoothTM devices inYour communication range.
Your headsetwill be detected as „BT1000 byAlbrecht“. Mobile phone and BluetoothTM headset will
exchangedata, which contain among others also the individualserial numbers of all devices. So it is ensured
that acommunicationcanonlystart betweenregistered partners. After registrationofYour BluetoothTM
headsetYou will be asked for a PIN code. Please use following PIN code:

(ifYour headset user manual or giftbox should contain acard with another PINcode, please use this PIN
code instead of1234)
Note: All major mobile phone manufacturers updatethe BluetoothTM pairing procedures fromtimeto time
together withtheir softwarereleases. The mobilephone distributors mayassistyou. Newreleases canbe
found on the internet pages ofthe mobile phonemanufacturers. The attachedmenu was last updated
beginning of 2003.
Accept incoming calls and adjust receiving volume
• You cantransfer incoming calls bypressing thestart-stop button at Your BT1000 BluetoothTM
headset. The switchingfrommobile phone to the headset will take a small moment only. .
• Adjust theearphonevolumebypressingthe volumebuttons or ofthe headset accordingto
your needs. You mayalsofeel thevolumekeyswithyour fingers: The keywith1dot reduces the
volume, while the keywith 2 dots will increase volume.
Important Note:
IfYourBluetoothTM headsetshouldbemovedawayfromthe mobile phoneoutsidethecommunicationrange,
it maybe necessaryto re-establish the connectionlater again.To reconnect Your headset, press thestart-stop
keyofYour headset. Ifthis shouldnot helptoreconnecttheheadset toYour phone,it maybenecessary
in somecases to switch theheadset1x off and on again, before pressingthe start-stop buttoncan re-
establish the communication.
Reset procedure to factorydefault status
Areset procedure canhelp to re-established alost connection between the BluetoothTM headset and the
cellularphoneoranyotherdevicetowhich You have pairedYour headset. This will alwaysbenecessary
before pairing theheadsetwith another phone, or sometimes, after adata error or anyother malfunction
should have stoppedYour systemfromrunning. Especially ifYou should wishto connect Your mobile

phone’s headset to another devicewith BluetoothTM technology like the audio gateway BT 2000 set.
Starting Reset
• (1) Switch Your headset OFF with power switch (slideswitch).
• (2) SwitchHeadset ON again
• (3) Press all 3keysat headset together andkeep thempressed for about 3seconds. Hold
headsetduring that procesure near to Your ears. Youwill hear sshort melodymarking a
successful reset. IfYoushould not hear themelodywithin 1-2seconds, thereset was not
successful and You should repeat steps (1) to (3).
• (4) Release all buttons.
• (5) Switchtheheadset 1 x OFF and ON again at the slide switch (power off-on).
After reset ofthe headsetYou cannowrepeat thepairing procedure with Yourmobile phone. The same
procedureapplies for connecting withtheaudio gateway(BT2000 set)for communicationwithcordedphones.
