My IP Touch Communicator
My IP Touch Communicator is a commercial package available from 3rd Quarter 2005 offer. User-
oriented and enriching Alcatel-Lucent IP Touch services, it provides Directory and Call Log bundled
services.
My IP Touch Communicator is based on Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch Unified Communication foundation
(and My Phone application) and is an entry pack easy to set up, simple to use.
This paper briefly describes services that are offered and key benefits of using such a solution.

Bundled services & Key benefits
My IP Touch Communicator is based on an intuitive and easy to use interface on Alcatel-Lucent IP Touch
high-end sets, namely the 4038 and the 4068. Directory access and Call logging are applications
allowing you to track and resolve 100% of your calls more quickly than even before.

Lucent IP Touch phone set:
"Directory access
The Directory service provides to the user an easy way to perform a directory lookup from the OmniPCX
Enterprise phonebook and corporate directories (LDAP directories). The user automatically gets this
service when characters are typed from the keyboard of the IP Touch phone set.
With OmniTouch UC R4.1 foundation, My IP Touch Communicator also offers presence information
(presence is a critical enterprise capability allowing users to discover if others are available to
collaborate, communicate and share information). The user gets this information based on presence
sources like Telephony and Instant Messaging (IM), as illustrated by the example below:

Telephony presence allows users to visually monitor whether the colleague’s telephone is on-hook or
off-hook. This information helps users avoid placing a phone call when it is obvious that the other
person is already using the telephone. It reduces the time both parties might spend unnecessarily
creating and/or listening to voice mail.
