INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing your ALEXANDRE MEERSON timepiece; the result of
a lifetime’s journey seeking the perfect balance between horology and style.
We share with you our passion for the work of the true artisan craftsmen involved
in assembling, nishing and inspecting each component by hand.
We wish you innite pleasure as your journey with your new companion unfolds.
We greatly enjoy hearing from our customers, and would welcome the chance
to discover more about your experience or answer any questions you may have.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Using your watch
The crown is used to manually wind and to set the time and date on your watch.
Note that the D15 Mk-1 GMT is equipped with a screwed-down crown, which
is further detailed in the instructions below. Please remember to remove your
watch before winding or setting, and ensure the crown is always returned to
the fully closed and screwed down position (position 1; see gure 1, page 18)
before wearing it. We advise that you rewind it manually if it has not been worn
for a few days.

The screwed-down crown
The crown of the D15 Mk-1 GMT is specially designed to enhance the water
resistance and durability of your watch by screwing in tight to the case when not in
use for winding or setting the time. To open, turn the crown anti-clockwise approx-
imately two and a half full rotations until there is a click and the crown pops out.
It is now in the winding position (position 2; see gure 1, page 18). Once opened,
the crown can be used to wind the watch and set the time as detailed below.
To close, start from the winding position (position 2; see gure 1, page 18). Push
the crown in to the case until it stops; while holding it pushed in, turn the crown
clockwise approximately two and half full rotations until nger tight. Do not over
tighten. The crown should only be opened to wind the watch or set the time;
otherwise the crown should always be maintained in the fully closed screwed
down position.
Note: do not open the crown when in a wet or humid environment, or while under water.
The water resistance rating is only ensured when the crown is in its fully closed and
screwed down position (position 1).
Winding
Your timepiece is powered by a self-winding movement. A weighted rotor on
the back of the movement stores the energy generated by the actions of your wrist
in the movement’s mainspring. Approximately 12 hours of wear will fully wind
the spring, though this will vary depending on your level of activity. The fully
wound watch has a power reserve of approximately 50 hours and will continue
to run for up to this duration when not worn.
If the power reserve is fully depleted and the watch stops, it can be reactivated
by hand with approximately 30 clockwise turns of the crown from the winding
position (position 2; see gure 1, page 18). This serves to restart the mechanism;
however, note that the number of turns required to fully wind the watch varies
by the function of the calibre. Please also note that the crown will not lock while
winding, even when the watch is fully wound. The watch can be manually wound
by turning the crown clockwise while it is in the winding position, but should not
be worn while doing so because the winding action in this position may put uneven
pressure on the stem and could damage it over time.
Reading the time
The D15 Mk-1 GMT displays time for two time zones, as well as date and time
of day or night for the ‘local’ time zone (see hand identication on page 19,
gure 2). Local time is read on the 12 hour indices with the local hour hand
and minute hand. The date and time of day or night are also shown for local time via
the date hand at 6 o’clock and the day/night hand at 9 o’clock. A second time
zone, or ‘home’ time, is displayed by the 24hr hand, with minutes read on
the minute hand. Note that the second time zone shares the minute hand with
the local time zone, requiring time zones displayed to be multiples of full hours
apart. The 24hr hand cannot display a time zone that is at a half or quarter-hour
deviation.
Setting your watch
The AM-4705 is equipped with hacking seconds, which means the second hand
halts when the crown is in the setting position (position 3; see gure 1, page 18).
This allows the time to be set accurately down to the second.
Fully setting the time and date
When fully setting the time and date, note that rst the local and home time
zone clocks are set to the same time zone, which should be the desired time zone
for home time. The local clock is then set to the appropriate local time zone using
the forward or reverse time zone correction pushers as detailed below.
To fully set the time, begin by rst opening and then pulling the crown out to
the setting position (position 3; see gure 1, page 18). Then, by turning the crown
anticlockwise, move the hands forwards (clockwise) to position the 24hr hand
(see hand 4, gure 2, page 19) at 02:00 on the 24hr scale (read on the outer
edge of the dial). Press the forward time zone correction pusher (see pusher A,
gure 2, page 19) until the date indication moves forward by one day, shown by
the date hand at 6 o’clock (see hand 6, gure 2, page 19). The watch will now
be indicating midnight for local time. Press the forward time zone correction
pusher twice more to position the local hour hand at 02:00 on the 12hr scale.
Now both the local time zone and second time zone will be indicating 02:00.
Press the date correction button (see button C, gure 2, page 19) until the desired
date is shown by the date hand. Then, by turning the crown anticlockwise (still
in the setting position), move the hands forwards (clockwise) rst to a few minutes

AM-4705

past and then back to the desired time for the second time zone (24hr hand),
which will ensure accurate adjustment.
If you wish to set the local time to a different time zone, do this now by using
the forward or reverse time zone correction pushers (see pushers A and B, gure
2, page 19). Press the forward time zone correction pusher to indicate a positive
time difference (one press corresponds to a forward shift of one hour), or press
the reverse time zone correction pusher to indicate a negative time difference (one
press corresponds to a backward shift of one hour). Continue to press the relevant
pusher until the desired local time is displayed.
Push the crown back into the winding position to restart the movement. When
nished with all winding and setting, screw the crown back into the fully closed
position (see page 15 for instructions). Note that we do not advise setting
the time between the hours of 23:00 and 24:00; during this period the date
is being advanced in the mechanism and any adjustment may result in the date
failing to change the following day (though this will not damage the movement).
Setting the local time zone only
If you have travelled to a new time zone and merely need to change the hours
displayed on the local time zone clock, this can be done at any time by using
the forward or reverse time zone correction pushers (see pushers A and B, gure
2, page 19). Press the forward time zone correction pusher to indicate a positive
time difference (one press corresponds to a forward shift of one hour), or press
the reverse time zone correction pusher to indicate a negative time difference (one
press corresponds to a backward shift of one hour). Continue to press the relevant
pusher until the desired local time is displayed. Note that the date and day/night
indicators will follow corrections to the local time zone (the date will change
if when correcting the time zone you pass through midnight). It is not necessary
to remove the watch from your wrist to operate the pushers.
If a small adjustment is needed to the minutes hand, such as after travelling
to a half or quarter hour deviation time zone, the minute hand can be correct-
ed without having to fully set the watch. Open and then pull the crown out to
the setting position (position 3; see gure 1, page 18). Then, by turning the crown
anticlockwise, move the hands forwards rst to a few minutes past and then back
to the desired time, which will ensure accurate adjustment. Push the crown back
into the winding position and then nish by screwing the crown back into the fully
closed position (see page 14 for instructions).
We do not advise adjusting the time zone if the local time on your watch is
currently showing a time between the hours of 23:00 and 24:00; during
this period the date is being advanced in the mechanism and any adjustment
may result in the date failing to change the following day (though this will not
damage the movement).
Correcting the date only
The AM-4705 operates a monthly calendar. If a month has less than 31 days,
the date must be manually set on the rst day of the following month. This occurs
5 times in a calendar year, on the 1st of March, May, July, October and December.
The date can be quickly corrected without adjusting the time by pressing the date
correction button (see button C, gure 2, page 19) until the desired date is shown
by the date hand.
If a time change is also required, see instructions above for either fully setting
the time or for adjusting the local time zone only.
We do not advise adjusting the date if the local time on your watch is currently
showing a time between the hours of 23:00 and 24:00; during this period the date
is being advanced in the mechanism and any adjustment may result in the date
failing to change the following day (though this will not damage the movement).
Care while winding and setting
Remove the watch from your wrist before winding or setting it. This prevents any
damage that may arise from lateral pressure on the winding stem. For the same
reason, ensure the crown is always in the fully closed screwed down position
(position 1; see gure 1, page 18) while wearing it.
Do not open the crown when in a wet or humid environment, or while under
water. The water resistance rating is only ensured when the crown is in its fully
closed and screwed down position (position 1). We also advise against operating
the pushers or date correction button in wet conditions.

ACCURACY
The accuracy of a movement is largely determined by the oscillation frequency
the balance and the precision in the construction of the mechanism.
The balance in the AM-4705 oscillates at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour;
this high frequency minimises the effect of the natural motions of the wearer
on the mechanism, which maintains a high level of accuracy in timekeeping.
In addition, our movements are all assembled by hand to ensure the highest
quality construction. For further information on the technical specications
and manufacturing processes of our watches, please refer to www.meerson.com.
If you notice signicant irregularities in the timekeeping of your watch, please
take it to an authorised ALEXANDRE MEERSON Retailer or approved Service
Centre. Our partners will make a full assessment, which will allow us to diagnose
any issue. We will discuss our ndings with you and, if necessary, your watch will
be sent to our workshop in Switzerland for adjustment or repair to ensure it meets
our exacting standards of accuracy.
WATER RESISTANCE
Your watch is tted with seals to protect the movement against dust and moisture,
and is rated in atmospheres according to the level of seal. This is determined by
laboratory tests, and cannot be equated to diving depth. ALEXANDRE MEERSON
timepieces vary in water resistance; please refer to the back of the case for
the rating of your watch.
Note that the water resistance rating is only ensured when the crown is in its fully
closed and screwed down position (position 1).
To ensure that your watch is functioning at its best, we advise that you have
it checked by an approved Service Centre each year. Additionally, we recommend
that it is checked following exposure to temperature extremes or other harsh
conditions. ALEXANDRE MEERSON accepts no liability or warranty claims for
improper testing or if the case of your watch is opened by unauthorised persons.

To ensure its robustness, we design and test the water resistance of each
ALEXANDRE MEERSON watch to be signicantly above its ofcial rating;
however, please note that your watch is only guaranteed to the rating listed on
the back of the case. Please see www.meerson.com/water-resistance for detailed
recommendations for use with regards to the water resistance rating of your watch.
Leather straps
We source high quality skins for our leather straps, which are crafted by skilled
artisans. While great care is taken in their construction, the material is natural
and is expected to age. To avoid discolouration and premature aging of the leather,
we advise that you avoid direct contact with water, solvents, oils, creams
and cosmetics where possible.
SERVICE
Though ALEXANDRE MEERSON watches are manufactured from the highest
quality materials and constructed with utmost care, the components experience
a variety of stresses and strains in normal use and are subject to natural wear
and tear.
These effects can be mitigated by regular maintenance, and we therefore
recommend servicing your watch every three to ve years. When serviced,
the mechanism will be cleaned and lubricated, worn parts replaced and all
functions and seals tested. This process ensures the longevity of your timepiece.

AM-4705
9
We strongly suggest that servicing is done by an approved Service Centre
or through an authorised ALEXANDRE MEERSON Retailer; note that servicing
done by an outside party may void the International Warranty of your watch.
Servicing will take 4-6 weeks from the date we receive your watch. If your watch
requires repairs above and beyond the normal servicing procedures and you
would like us to fully restore it, we will rst issue a quote for the additional work.
The quote must be accepted or rejected within one month. Note that an as-
sessment fee will be charged, even if the quote is rejected. After acceptance,
servicing and repairs will take 4-6 weeks. Following service or repair, we guarantee
the technical functioning of your watch for one year.
A list of authorised Retailers and Service Centres can be found at
www.meerson.com/warranty-and-service/service.
INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY
All ALEXANDRE MEERSON watches have an individual identier called the
Watch Edition Number, which is both engraved on the case back and listed on
the warranty card you receive with your watch. This unique reference is registered
in our archives where we record your ownership of the watch and the full details
pertaining to its manufacture and history.
The warranty card both guarantees the authenticity of your watch and activates
the warranty. It is only valid if it is signed, stamped and dated by the authorised
ALEXANDRE MEERSON Retailer from whom it was purchased. This card is unique
and should be kept in a safe place; duplicates cannot be issued.
The warranty covers your watch for a period of two years from the date of purchase.
This is extended to three years when you register as part of the ALEXANDRE
MEERSON Owners Club, which can be done by phone or online at
www.meerson.com/owners.
The warranty covers all manufacturing faults and material defects, which must be
conrmed by an ALEXANDRE MEERSON-approved Service Centre. Such defects
will be repaired free of charge within the warranty period, by the same process
and to the timelines detailed in the SERVICE section of this manual. Any
claim on the warranty must be made though one of our authorised Retailers
or Service Centres, and you must present your warranty card in order to do so.
The International Warranty allows you to take your timepiece to any approved
ALEXANDRE MEERSON Retailer or Service Centre to initiate a claim. You may
also send in your timepiece to make a claim, but you must rst contact our ofce
to make arrangements; shipping costs will be reimbursed if a defect is conrmed
and covered by the warranty. ALEXANDRE MEERSON accepts responsibility
for your timepiece while it is in our possession for evaluation or repair.
The warranty does not cover the following:
- Wear and tear that arises from everyday use

non-authorised persons
Actions taken under the terms of this warranty do not extend it or change
its conditions. The warranty does not affect or supersede the legal consumer rights
and privileges in the country in which the watch is purchased. The ALEXANDRE
MEERSON warranty is independent of any warranty that may be provided by
the Retailer from which the watch is purchased. The Retailer carries sole respon-
sibility for any such warranty.
