Manual Handl ng
To remove from the wagon bed, suitable edge
protection will be required around the wagon bed.
removal of mats is subject to site manual handling
assessment, each mat may be lifted by 2 or more
people.
Handl ng
To lift a stack of 15 mats from a wagon bed use an
appropriate forklift truck.
Place mat on to the ground to provide the coverage
required. Ground preparation is not usually needed.
Connect ng Mats
As each mat is placed it is essential to connect it to the
neighbouring mats using the correct connector.
To connect 2 mats place the 2 way connector
underneath the mats.
The raised cylinders on the connector unit should fit
within the holes on the corner of each mat. When in
place secure using 2 connection bolts,( M10 x 25 with
steel and rubber washer) taking care not to over tighten.
Where 4 mats need to be place together, use the 4 way
connector following the same process.

Storage
Mats should be stored in bundles of 15 maximum,
separated by suitable timbers, 4 are recommended.
uggested maximum height 5 bundles.
Handl ng
Where possible, mats should be lifted in bundles
using a forklift truck. If a forklift truck is unavailable
mats should be lifted individually by 2 or more people
(subject to a site manual handling assessment).
Clean ng
Care should be taken to ensure that the surface of the
mats is kept clear of any debris that could damage
them.No specialist equipment is required to clean
surface debris from EuroMats. Where necessary mats
can be cleaned using cold water and a pressure
washer.
Mat Connect ons
When the mats are in use it is essential that adjacent
mats are properly secured together using the
appropriate connectors for the ground conditions.
Failure to connect the mats will result in damage to the
mats and the underlying surface. It is recommended
that a competent person periodically checks the bolted
connections between the mats during use to ensure
that the connections are sound.

EuroMats are designed to give safe movement, ground
access and protection for plant and vehicles moving
over the mats at a MAXIMUM PEED OF 5 MPH.

may result n damage to both the mats and / or the
mat connectors.
Tracked veh cles
To avoid damage to the surface of the EuroMats, steel
tracked vehicles with aggressive tracks (such as on
excavators) should not be driven over them. Rubber
tracked vehicles may be used.
