manufactured for indoor use. Amano Pioneer Eclipse
Corporation (APEC) does not recommend use of this
appliance in any environment other than an indoor
environment. This oor machine is designed and
manufactured for commercial use only.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or
injury:
• Do not leave appliance when plugged in.
• Do not leave appliance connected to the electricity
supply when not in use.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while running.
• Unplug from outlet before servicing.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only
manufacturer’s recommended components and

• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is

Safety Precautions
• Do no pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle,
close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or
corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp
the plug, not the cord.
• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• Turn o all controls before unplugging.
• Do not attempt to service the unit while appliance is
plugged in.
• Appliance may cause a re when operating near
ammable vapors or materials. Do not operate this
machine near ammable uids, dust or vapors.
• Connect to a properly grounded outlet.
• Do not use with any solid state speed control device.
• This unit is thermally protected.
DANGER: To avoid injury, keep hands, feet, and loose
clothing away from all moving parts on the machine. Do not
operate the machine unless all guards are in place. Never
leave the machine unattended while connected to a power
source.

THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE GROUNDED.
If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding
provides a path of least resistance for electric current to
reduce the risk electric shock. This machine is equipped
with a cord having an equipment grounding conductor
and grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an
appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded
in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING: Improper connection of the equipment-
grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
Check with a qualied electrician or service person if
you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the
appliance - if it will not t the outlet, have a proper outlet
installed by a qualied electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit,
and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug
illustrated in sketch A.

cover securely attached. Operating in this manner could

or lamps that contain Mercury. The U.S.
Environmental Association, (EPA),
classies Mercury as hazardous waste.
The bulbs cannot be disposed as trash
or rubbish. They must be recycled.

Unpacking the Appliance
When the appliance is delivered, carefully inspect the
shipping carton and the machine for damage. Unpack
the machine with caution. If damage is evident, save the
shipping carton so that it can be inspected. Contact the
Amano Pioneer Eclipse Customer Service Department
or your authorized Amano Pioneer Eclipse Distributor.
Bulb Installation
WARNING: UV-C emitted from this product.
Avoid eye and skin exposure to unshielded product.
CAUTION: Do not operate device without lter and
cover securely attached
1. Make sure appliance is not plugged into a power
source.
2. Disconnect interconnect cord (Figure 1) from the
appliance’s cover.
3. Remove retaining screw (Figure 2) from the cover.
Note the orientation of the cover relative to the
appliance.
4. Remove cover and lay upside down.

5. Remove the two packaged bulbs from inside
the HEPA lter.
6. Remove bulbs from packaging and screw into
sockets (Figure 3) attached to the cover.
CAUTION: Do not use a tool to tighten the bulbs.
Only tighten by hand. Tighten bulbs by grasping the
plastic base. Do not grasp the glass tubes.
7. Carefully reposition the cover (Figure 4) over the
HEPA lter. Make sure cover is oriented as
previously installed and bulbs are not contacting
any surface.
8. Secure cover with retaining screw. Connect
interconnect cord. Device is now ready for
operation.
Operation
1. Unwrap the power cord and plug into the properly
grounded outlet.
2. Make sure the interconnect cord is connected to the
receptacle on the base unit and the receptacle on
the cover above the fan.
3. Place the air mover in the desired operating position.
4. Set the switch at the desired speed: low or high.
Circuit Protection
The 250AP features a circuit breaker that will “trip” if
more than the rated electrical current is drawn through
the cord. In addition, some models are equipped with
a duplex GFCI outlet. The GFCI protection promotes
operator safety and will “trip” if an electrical ground fault
is sensed. To test the GFCI protection, press the TEST
button. If operating properly, the RESET button on the
GFCI outlet will pop out.

Pre-Filter Replacement
WARNING: Those replacing the Pre-Filter should wear
appropriate personal protective equipment, (PPE):
- A properly-tted N95 or higher mask
- Eye protection, (safety glasses, goggles, or face shield)
- Disposable gloves
1. Make sure appliance is not plugged into a power
source.
2. Disconnect interconnect cord from the appliance’s
cover.
3. Remove dirty Pre-Filter, secure in trash bag, and
dispose with regular trash.
4. Place new Pre-Filter over HEPA (Figure 5). Connect
interconnect cord. Device is now ready for operation.
HEPA Replacement
WARNING: UV-C emitted from this device.
CAUTION: Do not operate device without lter and
cover securely attached.
1. Follow all safety guidelines and instructions for
removing Pre-Filter.
2. Make sure appliance is not plugged into a power
source and the interconnect cord is disconnected
from the appliance’s cover.
3. Remove retaining screw from the cover. Note the
orientation of the cover
4. Remove the HEPA lter, secure in a trash bag,
and dispose with regular trash.
5. Place new HEPA lter (Figure 6) on unit base.
6. Carefully reposition cover over HEPA lter. Make
sure cover is oriented as previously installed and
bulbs are not contacting any surface.
7. Secure cover with retaining screw. Place new
Pre-Filter over HEPA lter.
8. Connect interconnect cord. Device is now ready
for operation.
Light Filter Replacement
WARNING: UV-C emitted from this device.
CAUTION: Do not operate device without lter and
cover securely attached.
1. Follow all safety guidelines and instructions for
removing Pre-Filter and HEPA lter.

2. Make sure appliance is not plugged into a power
source and the interconnect cord is disconnected from
the appliance’s cover. Remove cover and HEPA lter.
3. Loosen, but do not remove, the four screws that
secure cover support to the base.
4. Twist the cover support (Figure 7) clockwise
approximately 1 in, (2,54 cm), and lift up.
5. Remove the old light lter and discard.
6. Replace with new light lter and reverse the
removal process.
NOTE: When securing the cover support to the base,
align dots (Figure 8) on the cover support with the base.
Light Bulb Replacement
WARNING: UV-C emitted from this device.
CAUTION: Do not operate device without lter and
cover securely attached.
WARNING: This device uses UV-C bulbs or lamps that

4. Remove the old bulb(s) (Figure 9) and replace with
the new one(s).

base. Do not grasp the glass tubes.
5. Recycle old bulbs in accordance with all applicable
regulations.

• Do not operate in conditions over 90% relative humidity
• Do not place obstructions around the appliance that would impede air ow.
• Use only indoors and in a clean environment.
• UV-C bulbs are fragile. Handle with care.
• Keep machine clean and in good operating condition.

TO QUALIFY FOR THIS WARRANTY
(1) Appliance must be registered at the time of purchase on a
form provided by Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation. Your
Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation Distributor is responsible
for the registration of your machine. Please cooperate with
your Distributor in supplying necessary information on the card.
(2) The machine must have been purchased from Amano Pioneer
Eclipse Corporation or an authorized Amano Pioneer Eclipse
Corporation Distributor.
(3) This warranty extends to the original purchaser only and is not
transferable to subsequent owners.
TIME PERIODS
(1) FIVE (5) YEAR WARRANTY - Housing.
(2) ONE (1) YEAR WARRANTY - Parts and labor.
Warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase by the
original owners. (See Exclusions.)
(3) NINETY (90) DAY WARRANTY - UV-C bulbs. Warranted to
be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period
of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase by the original
owners. (See Exclusions.)
EXCLUSIONS (Not Covered by Warranty)
(1) Parts that fail through normal wear by reason of their
characteristics (cords, filters, or other consumable parts).
(2) This warranty does not extend to parts affected by misuse,
neglect, abuse or improper maintenance. All defective parts
must be returned to the distributor for credit.
THE OBLIGATION OF AMANO PIONEER ECLIPSE
CORPORATION
(1) The obligation of Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation under this
warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at its option, any
part which is proven to be defective in material or workmanship
under normal use for the applicable period stated above.
(2) Warranty repairs will be made by your Amano Pioneer Eclipse
Corporation Distributor without charge for parts and labor. They
will be compensated with a warranty labor rate of $45.00 per
hour, for the first year of ownership.
(3) Parts repaired or replaced under this warranty are warranted
only during the balance of the original warranty period. All
defective parts replaced under these warranties become the
property of Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation.
WARRANTY SERVICE
To obtain warranty service, take your appliance and proof of
purchase to any authorized Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation
Distributor. Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation will not reimburse
expenses for service calls or travel. For the Distributor in your
area, call Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation Customer Service
Department at 1-800-367-3550 or 1-336-372-8080. If you are
dissatisfied with the service that you receive, call or email Amano
Pioneer Eclipse Corporation Customer Service Department at
INSTRUCTIONS AND CONDITIONS FOR WARRANTY
REIMBURSEMENT
l Order replacement part: Orders will be processed and charged,
as normal procedure.
l Call Amano Pioneer Eclipse Corporation for R/A number.
l You will need the Serial Number and Model Number.
l Parts must be returned, accompanied with the R/A number to
be eligible for warranty credit.
l All Warranty Parts will be shipped prepaid UPS Ground, any
other method will be at the recipients expense.
l Freight on any Warranty Part after 30 days must be paid for by
the Purchaser.
l Warranty labor rate is $45.00 per hour.
l Credit will be issued upon completion of the above steps, at the
above rates.
