Diagnostics
The diagnostic mode of the PIX-75 clock can be entered by removing the top
cover and using the button programming mode.
1. With the cover removed, press the PROGRAM button to begin button
program mode.
2. Press the +or –button to change the current programming mode until
the display shows P6 Diagnostics. See the following sections for
specific diagnostics.
3. Replace the cover to return the clock back to normal operation.
Main Board Version - Others Sub Menu
Use this test to check the firmware version of the main board (Freescale)
microcontroller.
1. With the cover removed, press the PROGRAMbutton to begin button
program mode.
2. Press the +or –button to change the current programming mode until
the display shows P6 DIAGNOSTICS.
3. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will display the sub menu
for other settings such as P6 01.
4. Press the +or –button until the display shows
P6 01 main board version. [The second line will scroll]
5. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will start
flashing the current main board firmware version. [see
right-hand figure for example].
6. Press the PROGRAM or ENTER button once to exit
and go back to the previous menu.
7. Replace the cover to return the clock back to normal operation.

Voice Board Version - Others Sub Menu
Use this test to check the firmware version of the voice board (Sensory)
microcontroller.
1. With the cover removed, press the PROGRAM button to begin button
program mode.
2. Press the +or –button to change the current programming mode until
the display shows P5 DIAGNOSTICS.
3. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will display the sub menu
for other settings such as P601.
4. Press the +or –button until the display shows
P6 02 voice board version. [The second line will scroll]
5. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will start
flashing the current voice board firmware version. [See
right-hand figure for example].
6. Press the PROGRAM or ENTER button once to exit
and go back to the previous menu.
7. Replace the cover to return the clock back to normal operation.
Show Ink Count - Others Sub Menu
Use this diagnostic to check the total number of prints the clock has printed.
1. With the cover removed, press the PROGRAM button to begin button
program mode.
2. Press the +or –button to change the current programming mode until
the display shows P6 diagnostics.
3. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will display the sub menu
for other settings such as P601.
4. Press the +or –button until the display shows
P6 03 show ink count. [The second line will scroll]
5. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will start
flashing the total number of prints. [See right-hand
figure for example].
6. Press the PROGRAM or ENTER button once to exit
and go back to the previous menu.
7. Replace the cover to return the clock back to normal operation.

LCD Test - Others Sub Menu
Use this diagnostic to check the PIX-75 LCD display by turning on all
segments.
1. With the cover removed, press the PROGRAM button to begin button
program mode.
2. Press the +or –button to change the current programming mode until
the display shows P6 diagnostics.
3. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will display the sub menu
for other settings such as P601.
4. Press the +or –button until the display shows P6 04 LCD TEST.
5. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will start flashing all the
segments.
6. Press the PROGRAM or ENTER button once to exit and go back to the
previous menu.
7. Replace the cover to return the clock back to normal operation.
Advanced Diagnostics - Others Sub Menu
Use the advanced diagnostic mode with special code numbers designed to
block out the end user to perform service actions.
1. With the cover removed, press the PROGRAM button to begin button
program mode.
2. Press the +or –button to change the current programming mode until
the display shows P6 diagnostics.
3. Press the ENTER button once and the clock will display the sub menu
for other settings such as P601.
4. Press the +or –button until the display shows P6 05 advanced.
5. Press the ENTER button once to enter the diagnostic mode and the
clock will prompt the user to enter a 2-digit code by flashing the digit.
6. Press the +or –button until the display shows the correct code digits,
and then press the ENTER button once to perform the following
diagnostics:

Atomic Clock Diagnostic ON (Code 11)
By entering this code, the clock turns on the diagnostic mode for the
atomic clock sync data and displays the raw data received by the atomic
clock receiver chip on the bottom line of the LCD when it is trying to sync
with atomic clock. The clock displays the message “DEBUG ON”
Atomic Clock Diagnostic OFF (Code 12)
By entering this code, the clock turns off the diagnostic mode for the
atomic clock sync data. The clock displays the message “DEBUG OFF” and
goes back to the previous menu.
Reset Settings to Factory Defaults (Code 32)
By entering this code, the clock resets all user settings (except the time,
time zone, DLS start/ end date, and ink count) to the factory defaults
settings. The clock displays the message “Wait” and “RESET” on the LCD
screen and restarts.
Show Advanced Diagnostic Settings (Code 65)
By entering this code, the clock will show the advanced diagnostic mode
settings. If the code is accepted successfully, the clock will display
“ADVANCED” and go back to the diagnostic menu. After entering the
diagnostic menu, it will show following advanced settings.
Crystal Adjustment
Using this setting, the user can set the crystal aging offset to run the
clock crystal faster or slower. This adjustment will appear on the display
as P6 05 advanced then show P6 06 crystal adjust. This will
allow the crystal aging offset to be adjusted to run the clock crystal faster
or slower.
Show Total Prints (Code 98)
By entering this code, the clock will display the total number of prints the
PIX-75 clock has printed since it was manufactured. This count can’t be
reset.
Invalid Codes
By entering any other code than mentioned above, the clock will display a
message “ERROR” and go back to the previous menu without performing
any action.
7. Press the PROGRAM or ENTER button once to exit and go back to the
previous menu.
8. Replace the cover to return the clock back to normal operation.
