1. Unpack the 4-slice toaster from the box.
2. Remove any unwanted packaging materials such as cardboard, plastics or
styrofoam.
3. Check that all parts are complete and unit is not damaged.
4. Using a damp cloth, wipe down the outside of the toaster and dry thoroughly
before use. DO NOT IMMERSE THE 4-SLICE TOASTER IN WATER OR ANY
OTHER LIQUID.
DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE MATERIAL TO CLEAN THE SURFACE

1. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse power cord or plug in
water or any other liquid. This is an electrical appliance. To avoid the risk of
electrical shock or serious personal injury, always operate with dry hands.
2. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is being used by or near
children. This toaster is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of this toaster by a person responsible for their safety.
3. Do not use the toaster outdoors. It is for household use only.
4. Do not allow the toaster to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary
when the toaster is used by or near children.
5. Do not use the toaster with a damaged cord or outlet plug.
6. Do not abuse the power cord. Never carry the toaster by the power cord or
pull the power cord to disconnect the plug from an outlet; instead grasp the
plug and pull to disconnect.
7. Do not use the toaster if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped in water. Return the toaster to the service center for examination,
repair or refund, or contact customer service.
8. Do not handle the plug or the toaster with wet hands.
9. Use the toaster only as described in this manual. The use of accessory
attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause damage or
personal injuries.
10. Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a
toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
11. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings
and moving parts.

12. Do not use abrasive materials to clean the toaster.
13. Do not use near water or immerse the toaster in water.
14. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
15. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of counter or touch hot surfaces.
16. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
17. A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable material,
including curtains, draperies or walls, when in operation.
18. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
19. Do not use this toaster for defrosting food other than bread.
20. Only insert unbuttered slices of bread.
21. Do not attempt to put pieces of bread in the toaster that are too thick. This
may cause the bread carriage to get stuck and may cause a fire.
22. This toaster should not be operated using a separate timer or separate
remote device.
IMPORTANT: If the bread carriage handle gets blocked during use (e.g. because
bread slices are too thick) and the bread starts burning, unplug appliance
immediately and let it cool down before emptying and cleaning it. Should the
problem persist, contact a qualified electrician.
CAUTION! It is very important to empty the crumb trays regularly. Crumbs that
have accumulated in the toaster might burn and the toaster may catch fire.

WARNING: Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. The warnings,
cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all
possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the
operator that common sense and caution are a factor which cannot be built into this
product, but must be supplied by the operator.
CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords
are available from local hardware stores and may be used if care is exercised in their
use. If an extension cord is required, special care and caution is necessary. Also, the
cord must be: (1) marked with an electrical rating of 125V, and at least 13 A., 1625 W.,
and (2) the cord must be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.
Polarized plug
NOTE: This toaster has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
•As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit
in a polarized outlet only one way.
•If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.
•If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
defeat this safety feature.
Electric power
If the electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliances may not
operate properly. The appliances should be operated on a separate electrical circuit
from other operating appliances.

Before first use
To eliminate any manufacturing residues, operate the toaster a couple of times
without bread, with the browning control on a medium browning level. It is
normal if smoke is seen during this time.
Note: the bread carriage handle will not stay down if the toaster is not plugged in.
How to use
•Each time the toaster is used, check if it is clean as it comes in direct contact
with bread. Check if any bread has fallen into the slots.
•Place bread slices in the slots.
•Press down the bread carriage handle until it stops. At this time, the grid slots
will tighten around the bread to keep it away from the heating wires. Release
the pressure and the handle will stay in the lower position, which means the
heating process has begun. If the handle should come up immediately, check
to see if the toaster is plugged in.
•BROWNING CONTROL –Adjust toast shade to the desired setting (1-7),
clockwise to increase the browning and counter clockwise to decrease it. The
higher the number is, the more toasted the bread will be.
•During operation, if you think the bread is toasted enough or for any other
reason, you can stop the heating process by pressing the CANCEL button.
•REHEAT –Reheat already toasted bread or toast bread which is not toasted
enough, during a short time.
•To reheat bagels, use the BAGEL button. Only one side in the toaster slot will
then be heating.
•DEFROST –Toast bread that has been frozen beforehand. This function offers
a longer heating time.
•Excess lengths of the power cord can be stored under the base. Before
storing, wind the cord around the hooks.
•To remove bread crumbs, slide out or remove the crumb trays in the bottom
of the toaster, empty and replace in the toaster before using.

Cleaning and maintenance
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the toaster is unplugged before cleaning or attempting to
store the item. THE TOASTER SHALL NEVER BE IMMERSED IN WATER OR ANY
OTHER LIQUID.
It is important to clean the toaster thoroughly after each use to prevent sticky
build ups that are difficult to clean later. Proper cleaning of the toaster leads to
clean, better tasting food.
1. When performing any cleaning or maintenance to this unit, be sure to unplug
from power outlet first and let the toaster cool down.
2. To remove bread crumbs, slide out or remove the crumb trays in the bottom
of the toaster, empty and replace in the toaster before using.
CAUTION! It is very important to empty the crumb trays regularly. Crumbs
that have accumulated in the toaster might burn and the toaster may catch
fire.
3. To clean the exterior surface/housing, simply wipe over the base with a soft
damp cloth. Do NOT immerse the base or run water over the base unit. Dry
soft cloth before storing.
4. Do not use abrasive cleaners or material (scouring pad) as they may damage
the finish of the toaster.
5. Store in a cool dry location out of reach of children. Never wrap the power
cord around the unit. Use the cord storage on the bottom of the toaster.

PRECAUCIÓN: Se proporciona un cable eléctrico corto para reducir el riesgo de lesiones

Antes del primer uso
Para eliminar los residuos de fabricación, utilice la tostadora algunas veces sin pan,
con el control del tostado en nivel medio. Es normal ver humo en estos casos.
Nota: La manija de la rejilla de pan no quedará trabada abajo si la tostadora no está
enchufada.
Modo de empleo
•Verifique que la tostadora esté limpia cada vez que se utilice, ya que entra en
contacto directo con el pan. Verifique si cayó pan en las ranuras.
•Coloque las rebanadas de pan en las ranuras.
•Baje la manija de la rejilla de pan hasta que se detenga. Las rejillas se cerrarán en
torno al pan y lo mantendrá alejado de las resistencias. Libere la presión y la
manija quedará en la posición inferior, lo que significa que el proceso de
calentamiento se ha iniciado. Si la manija sube de inmediato, compruebe que la
tostadora esté enchufada.
•CONTROL DE TOSTADO: Ajuste el nivel de tostado al ajuste deseado (1-7),
en sentido horario para aumentar el tostado y en sentido antihorario para
reducirlo. Cuanto más alto es el número, más tostado estará el pan.
•Durante el funcionamiento, si cree que el pan está lo suficientemente tostado o
por cualquier otro motivo, puede detener el proceso de calentamiento
presionando el botón CANCEL.
•REHEAT: Recaliente pan ya tostado o tueste pan que le falte tostado por un
período breve.
•Para recalentar bollos de pan, use el botón BAGEL. Solo se calentará un lado de la
ranura de la tostadora.
•DEFROST: Tueste pan que estaba congelado. Esta función proporciona más
tiempo de calentamiento.
•El exceso de cable de alimentación se puede almacenar debajo de la base. Antes
de almacenarlo, enrolle el cable en los ganchos.
•Para quitar las migas de pan, deslice o extraiga las bandejas de migas de la parte
