Airgo offers two transport chair options to meet the needs
of the individual user. You can choose between a 17” and a
19” wide seat for best seating comfort.
Before using this transport chair, you and each person who
may assist you, should read this manual carefully and
follow all instructions. Review the warnings and
precautions often until you are fully familiarized with them.

BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 6
Before using your transport chair, please read and keep in
mind the following safety precautions. Failure to do so
could result in personal injury and/or damage to your
transport chair.
• Ensure that the transport chair rolls smoothly and that
all parts are working properly.
• Check for noise, vibration or a change in ease of use
which may indicate loose fasteners, or damage to your
transport chair.
®
• Always consult an authorized Airgo dealer to find and
correct any problems or if you have any doubt about the
condition of your transport chair.
• Do not exceed the weight limit listed on the product.
The list weight limit is for the combined weight of rider
and items carried. Exceeding the listed weight limit
risks damage to the transport chair, a fall, tip-over or
loss of control which can cause severe injury to the user
or others.
• Do not operate the transport chair in overly rough
terrain, sandy, oily, wet or icy surfaces.
• Unauthorized modification of your transport chair or
the use of non-AMG replacement parts may change the
structure of the transport chair and may cause a safety
hazard and will void the warranty.
• Transport chair users should NOT be transported in a
vehicle while in the transport chair unless the vehicle is
properly equipped to do so.
• Do not stand or step on the foot plates while
transferring.
• Never lift your transport chair by any of its detachable
parts.
•WHEEL LOCKS ARE NOT BRAKES. Do not use
the wheel locks to slow down or stop the transport chair
while it is still moving.
• Always engage wheel locks when transferring, resting
or using a transport chair lift.

1. Tilt the transport chair toward you far enough to
take the weight off the opposite wheel.
2. Push down on the top of the seat rail closet to you
until the transport chair is fully open.
3. Make sure seat rails are fully seated into frame
saddles.
4. Pull-up the handles till they are engaged into the
folding mechanism.
5. Ensure the footrests are locked in front of the
chair and fold down their foot plates.
1. Fold up the foot plates and ensure that the swing-
away footrests are in locked position in front of
the transport chair.
2. Pull the lever of folding mechanism and fold
down the handles.
3. With both hands, grasp the straps of the seat
upholstery and lift up.

Initially, all the following points should be checked. Thereafter we recommend that you follow
these maintenance procedures:

• Transport chair rolls straight (no excess drag or pull to one side)
Frame and crossbraces
• Inspect for loose or missing hardware
• Inspect for bent frame or cross braces
Seat and back
• Inspect for rips or sagging
• Inspect for loose or broken hardware
• Inspect cane hand grips for wear/looseness/deterioration
Front casters / forks
• Inspect axle assembly for proper tension by spinning caster
Caster should come to a gradual stop
• Check hardware for tightness
• Wheel bearings are clean and free of moisture
Tires
• Inspect for cracks or wear
CAUTION: As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be
checked periodically for cracks and wear, and should be replaced.
Wheel locks
• Do not interfere with tires when rolling
• Pivot points free of wear and looseness
• Wheel locks easy to engage
• Wheel locks prevent moving when engaged

Cleaning
Storage
REQUIRED TOOLS
1. Frame
• Clean the frame with mild soap at least once
a month.
2. Axle and Moving Parts
• Clean the area around axles and moving parts
periodically with a slightly damp (not wet) cloth.
• Wipe off or blow away any fluff, or dirt on axles
or moving parts.
3. Upholstery
• Hand-wash.
• Drip-dry only.
1. Store your transport chair in a clean, dry area.
If you fail to do so, parts may rust or corrode.
2. If stored for more than three months, have your
transport chair inspected by an Airgo® authorized
dealer before using.
Allen keys: 4 mm, 5 mm and 6 mm
Screw driver: Philips # 2
Socket wrenches: 13 mm

FRONT RIGGING
Installing the swing-away footrest
1. Turn the footrest to the side (open footplate is
perpendicular to wheelchair).
2. Install the hinge plates onto the hinge pins on the
transport chair frame.
3. Push the footrest towards the inside of the transport
chair until it locks into place.
4. Repeat STEPS 1-3 for the other footrest assembly.
5. To release the footrest, push the footrest release lever
inward, rotate footrest assembly outward and lift the
footrest assembly off the hinge pins.
NOTE - The footplate will be on the inside of the transport
chair when locked in place.

Adjusting the swing-away footrest
1. Remove impact guards and/or calf strap, if necessary.
2. Push down the cam-lock lever to loose the assembly.
3. Press both sides release buttons, reposition the lower
footrest sub-assembly to the desired height and
depress the release buttons.
4. Secure it by lifting-up the cam-lock lever.
5. Replace impact guards and/or calf strap, if necessary.

Replacing the heel loop
1. Push down the cam-lock lever to loose the assembly.
2. Press both side release buttons and pull out the lower
footrest sub-assembly.
3. Unscrew the mounting bolt and nut and pull out the
heel loop.
4. Replace the heel loop and reinstall the mounting bolt
and nut.
5. Reinsert the lower footrest sub-assembly into the
upper footrest tubing.
6. Adjust it to the desired height and secure it by lifting-up
the cam-lock lever.

Flip-back armrest and / or removing armrest
Replacing the seat upholstery
1. Press the flip-back release lever located on the
armrest.
2. Flip the armrest back.
3. Pull the rear knob and remove the armrest.
4. To install the armrest, reverse above procedure.
1. Remove the eight screws & washers that secure seat
upholstery to the cross braces.
2. Remove the existing seat upholstery from the cross
braces.
3. Install the new upholstery by reversing above
procedure.

Folding the backrest
Replacing the back upholstery
1. Pull the folding mechanism lever and fold down the
handle.
2. Repeat the procedure for the other handle.
1. Remove the ten (10) mounting self-threading screws
and washers that secure the back upholstery to the
handle and back tubings.
2. Remove the existing back upholstery from the handle
and back tubings.
3. Install the new upholstery by reversing above
procedure.

Removing / installing the rear wheels
1. Remove the hub cap, hex bolt, connection part and
locknut that secure the rear wheels to the transport
chair.
2. Repeat STEP 1 for the other rear wheel.
3. To reinstall the rear wheel onto the transport chair,
reverse step above procedure.

Installing / replacing the front casters and forks
1. Remove the fork cover.
2. Remove the hex locknut that secure the fork stem to
the caster head tube.
3. Drop the front caster and fork out of the caster head
tube.
4. To reinstall the new front caster and fork onto the
transport chair, reverse step above procedure.

Replacing / repairing the front casters
1. Remove the flat head screw that secure the front caster
to the fork.
2. Install the new front caster onto the transport chair by
reversing STEP 1.
3. Repeat STEPS 1-2 for the other front caster if
necessary.

Adjusting the wheel-lock
1. Ensure the wheel-lock is in the open (unlocked)
position.
2. Using the 5mm Allen key, loosen the hex socket screws
that secure the wheel-lock to the transport chair frame.
3. Adjust the position of wheel-lock until the measurement
between the rear wheel and the wheel-lock shoe is
between 1-13/32 and 1-1/2 inches.
4. Securely tighten the hex socket screws.
5. Engage wheel-lock and push against the transport chair
and determine if the wheel-lock engages the wheel-lock
shoe enough to hold the transport chair.
6. Repeat the above procedures until the wheel-lock holds
the transport chair.

Warranty period. Three year warranty on the side frame
and "X" brace of the transport chair. Six month warranty is
offered on all other metal parts. Upholstery, plastic, and
rubber parts are warranted for three months. The warranty
period for the consumer begins on the date of purchase
from the dealer. If the product is not sold to the consumer,
but is rented, etc., the warranty period commences on the
invoice date.
Limitations: This warranty covers only defects in material
and workmanship. Products subjected to improper
maintenance, improper transport, negligence, abuse or
misuse are not covered by this warranty. If the serial
number is removed or defaced, the transport chair will not
be covered by this warranty. If the transport chair has been
structurally altered or equipped with parts not distributed
by AMG Medical Inc., the wheelchair will not be covered
by this warranty.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser. If you
want to claim warranty service, contact the store where you
purchased the chair, who will notify AMG, to determine the
proper course of action to take, or call 1-800-363-2381. All
products shipped to AMG for warranty service must have
prior authorization from AMG Medical Inc.

should be shipped prepaid to:
