OLUTION
The TruePower New ser es s Antec’s full featured l ne of h gh-qual ty, rel able power supply un ts (PSUs). Comb n ng
cutt ng-edge technology and an eff c ent des gn, the TruePower New ser es s the deal solut on for el te system
bu lders and qual ty-m nded enthus asts al ke. W th +12V ra ls that are regulated to ±3%, the TruePower New ser es
del vers full rated power and t ght voltage regulat on.

The TP-650 PSU s compat ble w th ATX12V v2.3 and EPS12V v2.91 spec f cat ons. The TP-650 features Un versal
Input, wh ch automat cally senses when you connect the power supply to any AC power source between 100~240V
w thout hav ng to worry about sett ng a voltage sw tch. Th s power supply also features Act ve Power Factor
Correct on (Act ve PFC), wh ch mproves the power factor value of the power supply by alter ng the nput current
wave shape, wh ch helps power transm ss on across the gr d.

ROTECTION
A var ety of ndustr al-grade safety c rcu try w ll help protect your computer: OVP (Over Voltage Protect on), SCP
(Short C rcu t Protect on), and OCP (Over Current Protect on). Somet mes the PSU w ll “latch” nto a protected
shutdown state. Th s means that you w ll need to power off the PSU and clear the fault before t w ll funct on aga n.
There are no user-replaceable fuses n your TP-650.

ERTIFICATION
80 PLUS® cert f cat on s the most w dely recogn zed ndependent standard n power supply eff c ency. An 80 PLUS®
cert f ed power supply uses less energy and generates less heat to stay cooler, run qu eter and last longer. The
TP-650 PSU earns the rare 80 PLUS® Bronze level of eff c ency, mean ng that t has been cert f ed to be at least 82%
eff c ent at a w de range of operat ng loads; th s w ll lower your operat ng costs and help protect the env ronment.

YSTEM
The TP-650 uses Advanced Hybr d Cable Management. Cables that are mportant or mandatory are connected
d rectly to the PSU. There are also modular connectors on the back of the PSU to add add t onal cables as needed.
Us ng only the power cables you need w ll reduce clutter and mprove a rflow ns de your case. For the l st of
connected and opt onal cables, see Table 1.

ONVERSION
Antec’s TruePower New ser es uses DC to DC convers on for the 5V and 3.3V ra ls. The DC to DC voltage regulat on
module s the most advanced des gn, usually found on h gh-end motherboards, to step down DC voltage. Th s
module operates at 85% eff c ency, as opposed to trad t onal magnet c ampl f ers that operate at only 75%
eff c ency. Another benef t s that trans ent response t me s almost 100 t mes faster, prov d ng remarkably stable
power output n response to chang ng loads.

ODULATION
(PWM)
F
AN
Pulse W dth Modulat on technology allows the TruePower New ser es to f nely control the speed of the power
supply’s fan. By us ng th s method nstead of the trad t onal voltage controlled fans, th s PSU’s fan can run up to
50% qu eter than standard fans. A PWM fan can run as slow as 10-15% of the fan’s rated top speed, whereas a
voltage regulated fan can only go as low as 40%.

PCB
Des gned w th a double layered pr nted c rcu t board, the TruePower New ser es ut l zes a low-dens ty component
layout to prov de better a rflow throughout the cas ng. In add t on, double layer PCBs allow for heavy-duty
components and larger traces, reduc ng electr cal nterference and res stance. Th s ensures greater rel ab l ty for
the power supply and components connected to t.

ISTRIBUTION
The TP-650 power supply uses four separate +12 volt power ra ls. Just as you have separate c rcu ts n your house,
the PSU has separate c rcu ts to a d n the d str but on of power between dev ces n your computer. The eng neers
have allocated the ra ls to d fferent connectors to prevent voltage sags n one dev ce due to sudden demands for
power by another dev ce.

NSTALLATION
:
1. Install the TP-650 PSU nto your case w th the four screws prov ded.
2. Connect the 24-p n ma n power connector to your motherboard. If your motherboard uses a 20-p n
connector, detach the 4-p n attachment on the 24-p n connector.
Note: The detachable 4-p n sect on cannot be used n place of a 4-p n +12V connector.
3. Connect the 8-p n or 4-p n ATX12V connector for the CPU to the appropr ate connector on your
motherboard. If your motherboard has an 8-p n socket w th a cover on some of the open ngs, we
recommend that you remove the cover and use the 8-p n connector.
Note: Please also refer to your motherboard user’s manual for any spec al nstruct ons.
4. Connect the cables from the cable pack to the socket on the power supply as needed. If you are go ng to
plug the add t onal PCI-E cable nto the PSU, t should go nto the red socket. If the red socket s not be ng
used for PCI-E, then t can be used for another cable from the pack that accompan ed the PSU.
5. Connect the AC power cord to the power supply AC nlet. Please be sure to use the heavy-duty cord
suppl ed w th your TP-650. Turn the sw tch to the “|” pos t on after you have connected all the dev ces
and are ready to turn on your computer.
