Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this quality product. To minimize the risk of injury we urge that our clients
take some basic safety precautions when using this device. Please read the operation instruc-
tions carefully and make sure you have understood its content.
Keep these operation instructions safe.
Product description and information
•The IR preheating station INT853A is a reworking device using infrared (IR) heating technology
with a multifunctional circuit board holder. It is designed for reworking double-sided print circuit
boards (PCBs) with various technologies to be soldered with or without lead.
•The system has a powerful IR heating element, a digital display with turning knob control and
simple switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit scale. Its unique and innovative design with
CPU control offers precision, safety, and user-friendliness in order to comply with all reworking
needs.

Safety instructions
Caution!
•Only use the device with a residual current circuit breaker with a tripping rated current of up to
30 mA (according to VDE 0100 parts 702 and 738).
•This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with limited physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they are
supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions from him or
her on how to use the device.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
•During operation, the temperature is between 200 ℃and 480 ℃. This could cause injury or
damage to equipment in the work area if the soldering station is not handled carefully.
•Please observe the following principles when working with the device:
◦After opening the package, check whether each individual part of the device is in good
condition and whether there is any visible transport damage. If there is obvious damage, do
not use the device, but immediately contact your dealer!
◦Switch off the device and pull out the power plug when moving the device.
◦Avoid exposing parts of the device to excessive mechanical stress (knocks, blows, etc.).
Caution!
•Perform a visual inspection of the device before each use. Do not use the device if safety de-
vices are damaged or worn. Never override safety devices.
•Only use the device for the purpose specified in these operating instructions.
•You are responsible for the safety in the work area.
•If the cable or the plug is damaged due to external influences, the cable must not be repaired,
but must be replaced with a new one.
•The voltage of 230 V AC indicated on the nameplate of the device must correspond to the ex-
isting mains voltage.
•Never lift, transport or suspend the device by the power cord.
•Make sure that the electrical plug connections are protected from flooding and moisture.
•Before working on the device, pull out the mains plug.
•Avoid exposing the device to direct water jets.
•The operator is responsible for compliance with local safety and installation regulations. You
may ask a qualified electrician.
•If the device fails, repairs should only be carried out by a qualified electrician. No responsibility
is accepted for damage caused by improper repair or maintenance.

Electrical connection
The electrical connection is made to a 230 V ~ 50 Hz protective contact socket. Protection at least 10 A.
Commissioning
Set up the device on a level and solid location, the temperature of which does not exceed 40 ℃. Position
the device in the site in a horizontal position so that it can work correctly.
Caution!
For your own safety, follow the advice below, otherwise damage and/or injuries could result:
•The temperatures of parts of the station can be up to 400 ℃during operation, therefore:
◦Do not use the station near flammable substances such as gases, paper or others.
◦Avoid touching hot parts of the station, otherwise you could be seriously burned.
◦Do not touch the metallic parts near the soldering tips.
•Temperature protection
◦The device is equipped with an automatic temperature protection which switches off the
device if one of the temperatures is too high.
◦The device switches on again when the status has returned to normal.
•Handle the device with care:
◦Never drop it or expose it to knocks.
◦Contains sensitive components that could be destroyed if improperly handled.
•Disconnect the device from the power supply if you do not need it for a long time, if there is a
power failure or before opening it.
•Potentially harmful fumes are generated during soldering. Only solder in a well-ventilated work
area to avoid harmful concentrations.
•Do not make any structural changes to the device.

Working guidelines
Notes!
•Make sure that the device is on a flat, stable surface.
•Make sure that all connections are properly secured.
•Refer to the “Explanation of the control panel” section to familiarize yourself with the control
panel and display board directory.
First use
•Make sure that all switches are in the off position.
•Connect the device to the main power source using the power plug.
•Set the main power switch to on to turn the device on.
Operation
•Follow the instructions for the initial procedure.
•The currently set temperature is shown on the display and, after a moment, the actual temper-
ature of the heating element.
•To set the desired temperature, turn the temperature control (3). The set temperature is shown
on the display. As soon as the temperature is set, the display switches to showing the actual
temperature.
•You can switch between the Fahrenheit and Celsius display by pressing the temperature scale
switch (4).
•The heating indicator (2) continues to light up during heating. As soon as the temperature has
reached the previously set temperature, the heating display starts to flash. This means that the
heating element has reached the set temperature and is currently regulating the heat to maintain
the set temperature.
•Reworking can begin as soon as the set temperature is reached and the heating display starts
to flash.
•After finishing reworking, switch the main switch to off.

Disposal regulations
EU guidelines regarding the disposal of scrap electric appliances (WEEE, 2012/19/EU) were imple-
mented in the law related to electrical and electronic equipment and appliances.
All WilTec electric devices that fall under the WEEE regulations are labelled with the crossed-out
wheeled waste bin logo. This logo indicates that this electric equipment must not be disposed with the
domestic waste.
The company WilTec Technik GmbH has been registered in the German registry EAR under the WEEE-
registration number DE45283704.
Disposal of used electrical and electronic appliances
(intended for use in the countries of the European Un-
ion and other European countries with a separate col-
lection system for these appliances).
The logo on the article or on its packaging points out
