COOPERATION WITH AQUAEL FZKN CANISTER FILTERS
During installation of the sterilizer in a FZKN lter, the lter container must be
empty (bins with lter elements removed) and cleaned.
Installation of the sterilizer in a FZKN lter:
1.mounttheuorescentlamp,
2.screwouttheplugatthebottomoftheFZKN lter container (g.),according
tothe„OUT”arrow,
3.takeoutthequartzcasing(7),togetherwiththeuorescentlamp(8)anditsholder
(10)assembledintothecasing,fromthelamphousing(6);puttheowcoverof
theUNIMAXlterontothelamphousing(6),thenscrewitinfromtheinsideofthe
ltercontainerbyturningitfromthepositionshowninFig.7tothepositionshown
inFig.(seealsotheUNIMAXltermanual);next,insertthequartzcasing(7),
togetherwiththeuorescentlamp(8)anditsholder(10)assembledintotheca-
sing,intothelamphousing(6)throughtheopeninginthebottomofthelterand
turnitallthewayinthedirectionofthe„IN”arrow.
LAUNCH AND USAGE
Followingthe abovepreparations, youshould rstturn onthe pumpcooperating
withthesterilizer.Makesurethatthehosesaretightlyconnectedtothesterilizer.If
leaksarediscovered,tightenuptheconnections.Onlyafterstabilizingthewaterow
shouldthesterilizerbeturnedon.
NOTE: do not cover the plug stabilizer.
Operationoftheuorescentlampmaybecheckedonly in assembled condition:
phosphorescencereectedoninternalsurfacesofthehousing(6)or–incaseof
installationofthesterilizerinaFZKN lter:thesterilizercover–isvisibleattheinlet
andoutletopenings–regardlessofwhetherthestubpipes(5)aremountedornot.
Thisphosphorescencewillbevisiblethroughthetransparentstubpipesalsolater,
duringnormaloperationofthesterilizer.
NOTE: In a FZKN lter it is not allowed to use the UV sterilizer without the cover!
UV-C radiation!
Theoperation cycleofthe sterilizershouldbe determinedexperimentally,initially
operatingitforseveralhoursaweek.Afterthelapseoftheplannedperiodofope-
ration,turnofftheUVsterilizerbypullingtheplugfromthepowersupplysocket.
MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT
OF FLUORESCENT LAMP
For efcient operation of the sterilizer, it should be cleaned every several weeks (e.g.
Whendoingmaintenanceonthelteroraquariumpump)performingthefollowingactions:
1.disconnectthedeviceandthepumpcooperatingwithitfromthepowersupplyby
pullingtheplugsfromthesockets,
2.disconnectthedevicefromthewastercirculationandremoveanywaterrema-
ininginit,
3.removethettingwiththeuorescentlampbyturningthettinggrip(10)accor-
dingtothe„OUT”arrow(g.),
4.carefully remove the quartz cover (7), turning it according to the „OUT” arrow
(g.),(incaseofinstallationofthesterilizerinaFZKNlter–g.)andrinseit
underrunningwaterandcarefullywipedry–particularlyitsinternalside,
5.screwoutthestubpipes(5)andstopper(3),removethegaskets(4)fromthem,
andcarefullycleanunderrunningwater,
6.cleanthehousing(orsterilizercoverinaFZKNlter),
7.assemblethedeviceinreverseorder,allgasketsmustbeproperlyplacedintheir
grooveandgreasedwithVaseline,andtheuorescentlampmustbeinsertedall
thewayintothettinguntilrefusal.
