SpaStatus
Importantinformationaboutspaoperationcanbeseenquickly
fromtheMainScreen.
The most important features, including Set Temperature
adjustment,canbeaccessedfromthisscreen.
Theactualwater temperaturecanbe seeninlarge textandthe
desired,orSetTemperature,canbeselectedandadjusted.
Time-of-day, Ozone operation and Filter Operation status is
available,alongwithothermessagesandalerts.
HighTemperatureRangevs.LowTemperatureRangeisindicated
intheupperrightcorner.
The Jets Icon in the center will spin on a TP900 if any pump is
runningandchangescolorwhentheheaterison.(Theicondoes
notspinonaTP800,butstillindicatespumpandheaterfunction)
ALockiconisvisibleifthepanelorsettingsarelocked.
TheMenuchoicesontherightcanbeselectedandthescreenwill
changetoshowmoredetailedcontrolsorprogrammingfunctions.

Navigation
Navigatingtheentiremenustructureisdonewiththe5buttons
onthecontrolpanel.
When a text item changes to white during navigation, that
indicatestheitemisselectedforaction.
Operatingorchangingaselecteditemisgenerallydonewiththe
centeror“Select”button.
Theonlyitemthatcanbechangedontheleftside oftheMain
Screen is the Set Temperature. Press the Left Arrow button to
change the Set Temperature number to white. The Set
Temperaturecanthenbeadjustedwiththeupanddownbuttons.
PressingtheSelectbuttonortheRightArrowbuttonwillsavethe
newsettemperature.
Ontherightsideofthescreen,themenuselectionscanbeselected
withtheUpandDownButtons.UsetheSelectButtontochoosean
item.Selectingoneoftheseitemswillchangetoadifferentscreen
withadditionalcontrols.
Messages
Atthebottomofthescreen,messagesmayappearatvarioustimes.
Someofthesemessagesmustbedismissedbytheuser.
Press-and-Hold
If an Up or Down button is pressed and held when the Set
Temperatureisselected,thetemperaturewillcontinuetochange
untilthebuttonisreleased,ortheTemperatureRangelimitsare
reached.

TheSpaScreenshowsallavailableequipmenttocontrol,aswellas
otherfeatures,likeInvert,inoneeasy-to-navigatescreen.
Thedisplayshowsiconsthatarerelatedtotheequipmentinstalled
onaparticularspamodel,sothisscreenmaychangedependingon
theinstallation.
Thenavigationbuttonsareusedtoselectanindividualdevice.The
devicethatischosenishighlightedwithawhiteoutlineandthe
textundertheiconchangestowhite.Onceadeviceisselected,it
canbecontrolledusingthecenterSelectButton.
Somedevices,likepumps,mayhavemorethanoneONstate,so
theiconwillchangetoreflectthestatethattheequipmentisin.
Belowaresomeexamplesof2-speedPumpindicators.
IftheSpahasaCircPump,aCircPumpIconwillappeartoindicate
itsactivity,butoutsideofPrimingMode,theCircPumpcannotbe
controlleddirectly.
NOTE:Theiconforthepumpthatisassociatedwiththeheater(Circ
orP1Low)willhavearedglowinthecenterwhentheheateris
running.

DualTemperatureRanges(Highvs.Low)
This system incorporates two temperature range settings with
independentsettemperatures.Thespecificrangecanbe
selectedontheSettingsscreenandisvisibleontheMainScreenin
theupperrightcornerofthedisplay.
Theserangescanbeusedforvariousreasons,withacommonuse
beinga“readytouse”settingvs.a“vacation”setting.
Eachrangemaintainsitsownsettemperatureasprogrammedby
theuser.Thisway,whenarangeischosen,thespawillheattothe
settemperatureassociatedwiththatrange.
Pressinga“Button”
When instructions are given to “press a button” any of the
followingcanbedone:
NavigatetothedesireditemonanyScreen.Whenthedesireditem
ishighlighted,presstheSelectButton.
PressthebuttonforthatdevicewhileontheShortcutsScreen,ifthe
deviceisoneofthe4functionsavailable.
Programming,etc.
The Settings Screen is where all programming and other spa
behaviorsarecontrolled.
Thisscreenhasseveralfeaturesthatcanbeactedondirectly.These
featuresincludeTempRange,HeatMode,andInvertPanel.When
oneoftheseitemsishighlighted,theSelectButtonisusedtotoggle
betweentwosettings.
Allothermenuitems(withanarrowpointingtotheright)goto
anotherlevelinthemenu.

CirculationMode
If the spa is confi gured for 24HR circulation, the heater pump
generally runs continuously. Since the heater pump is always
running,thespawillmaintainsettemperatureandheatasneeded
inReadyMode,withoutpolling.
In Rest Mode, the spa will only heat to set temperature during
programmedfiltertimes,eventhoughthewaterisbeingfiltered
constantlywheninCirculationMode.
HeatMode‒Readyvs.Rest
Inorderforthe spatoheat,apumpneedstocirculatewater
throughtheheater.Thepumpthatperformsthisfunctionisknown
asthe“heaterpump.”
Theheater pump can beeithera 2-speed pump(Pump1) or a
circulationpump.
Iftheheaterpumpisa2-SpeedPump1,READYModewillcirculate
waterevery1/2hour,usingPump1Low,inordertomaintaina
constant water temperature, heat as needed, and refresh the
temperaturedisplay.Thisisknownas“polling.”
RESTModewillonlyallowheatingduringprogrammedfiltercycles.
Since polling does not occur, the temperature display may not
show a current temperature until the heater pump has been
runningforaminuteortwo.
WhilePump1Highcanbeturnedonandoff,Pump1Lowwillrun
untilsettemperatureisreached,or1hourhaspassed.

READY/RESTappearsinthedisplayifthespaisinRestModeandthe
Jets1Buttonispressed.Itisassumedthatthespaisbeingusedand
willheattosettemperature.WhilePump1Highcanbeturnedon
andoff,Pump1Lowwillrununtilsettemperatureisreached,or1
hourhaspassed.After1hour,theSystemwillreverttoRestMode.
ThismodecanalsoberesetbyenteringtheSettingsMenuand
changingtheHeatMode.

PrimingthePumps
AssoonasthePrimingModescreeenappearsonthepanel,select
the“Jets1”button once to start Pump1 in low-speed and then
againtoswitchtohigh-speed.Also,selecttheotherpumps,toturn
themon.
Thepumpsshouldberunninginhigh-speedtofacilitatepriming.If
thepumpshave notprimed after2minutes, andwaterisnotfl
owingfromthejetsinthespa,donotallowthepumpstocontinue
torun.Turnoffthepumpsandrepeattheprocess.Note:Turning
thepoweroffandbackonagainwillinitiateanewpumppriming
session.
Sometimesmomentarilyturningthepumpoffandonwillhelpitto
prime.Donotdothismorethan5times.Ifthepump(s)willnot
prime,shutoffthepowertothespaandcallforservice.
PreparationandFilling
Fillthespatoitscorrectoperatinglevel.Besuretoopenallvalves
andjetsintheplumbingsystembeforefillingtoallowasmuchair
aspossibletoescapefromtheplumbingandthecontrolsystem
duringthefillingprocess.
Afterturningthepoweronatthemainpowerpanel,thetop-side
panelwilldisplayasplash,orstartupscreen.
PrimingMode‒M019*
Aftertheinitial start-upsequence,the controlwillenterPriming
ModeanddisplayaPrimingModescreen.Onlypumpiconsappear
ontheprimingmodescreen.Thesystemwillautomaticallyreturn
tonormalheatingandfilteringattheendoftheprimingmode,
whichlasts4-5minutes.Duringtheprimingmode,theheateris
disabledtoallowtheprimingprocesstobecompletedwithoutthe
possibility of energizing the heater under low-fl ow or no-fl ow
conditions.Nothingcomesonautomatically,butthepump(s)can
beenergizedbyselectingthe“Jet”buttons.IfthespahasaCirc
Pump, it can be turned on and off by pressing the “Circ Pump”
buttonduringPrimingMode.Inaddition,ifthespahasaCircPump,
itcanbeactivatedbypressingthededicated“Light”buttonduring
PrimingModewhenusingaTp800.
ManuallyexitPrimingModebypressingthe“Exit”Button.

Important:Apumpshouldnotbeallowedtorunwithoutpriming
formorethan2minutes.UnderNOcircumstancesshouldapump
be allowed to run without priming beyond the end of the 4-5
minuteprimingmode.Doingsomaycausedamagetothepump
and cause the system to energize the heater and go into an
overheatcondition.
ExitingPrimingMode
YoucanmanuallyexitPrimingModebynavigatingtothe“Back”
button on the Priming Mode Screen. Note that if you do not
manuallyexittheprimingmodeasdescribedabove,thepriming
modewillbeautomaticallyterminatedafter4-5minutes.
Besurethatthepump(s)havebeenprimedbythistime.
OncethesystemhasexitedPrimingMode,thetop-sidepanelwill
display the Main Screen, but the display will not show the
temperature yet, as shown below. This is because the system
requires approximately 1 minute of water fl owing through the
heatertodeterminethewatertemperatureanddisplayit.

CirculationPumpModes
Ifthesystemisequippedwithacircpump,itwillbeconfiguredto
workinoneofthreedifferentways:
1, The circ pump operates continuously (24 hours) with the
exceptionofturningofffor30minutesatatimewhenthewater
temperaturereaches3°F(1.5°C)abovethesettemperature(most
likelytohappeninveryhotclimates).
2, The circ pump stays on continuously, regardless of water
temperature.
3,Aprogrammablecircpumpwillcomeonwhenthesystemis
checkingtemperature(polling),duringfiltercycles,duringfreeze
conditions,orwhenanotherpumpison.
ThespecificCirculationModethatisusedhasbeendeterminedby
theManufacturerandcannotbechangedinthefield.
Otherdeviceoptionsmaybeavailable,likeBlower,Light,Mist,etc.
Pumps
OntheSpaScreen,selecta“Jets”buttononcetoturnthepumpon
oroff,andtoshiftbetweenlow-andhigh-speedsifequipped.Ifleft
running,thepumpwillturnoffafteratime-outperiod.Thepump1
low-speedwilltimeoutafter30minutes.
Thehigh-speedwilltime-outafter15minutes.
On non-circ systems, the low-speed of pump 1 runs when the
bloweroranyotherpumpison.IfthespaisinReadyMode,Pump1
low may also activate for at least 1 minute every 30 minutes to
detectthespatemperature(polling)andthentoheattotheset
temperatureifneeded.
When the low-speed turns on automatically, it cannot be
deactivated from the panel, however the high speed may be
started.

FreezeProtection
Ifthetemperaturesensorswithintheheaterdetectalowenough
temperature, then the water devices automatically activate to
provide freeze protection. The water devices will run either
continuouslyorperiodicallydependingonconditions.
In colder climates, an optional additional freeze sensor may be
addedtoprotectagainstfreezeconditionsthatmaynotbesensed
by the standard sensors. Auxiliary freeze sensor protection acts
similarlyexceptwiththetemperaturethresholdsdetermined by
theswitch.Seeyourdealerfordetails.
Clean-upCycle(optional)
Whenapumporbloweristurnedonbyabuttonpress,aclean-up
cyclebegins30minutesafterthepumporbloweristurnedoffor
times out. The pump and the ozone generator will run for 30
minutesormore,dependingonthesystem.Onsomesystems,you
canchangethissetting.
FiltrationandOzone
Onnon-circsystems,Pump1lowandtheozonegeneratorwillrun
duringfiltration.Oncircsystems,theozonewillgenerallyrunwith
thecircpump,butcanbelimitedtofiltrationcycles.
Thesystemisfactory-programmedwithonefiltercyclethatwillrun
in the evening (assuming the time-of-day is properly set) when
energyratesareoftenlower.
Thefiltertimeanddurationareprogrammable.
Asecondfiltercyclecanbeenabledasneeded.
Atthestartofeachfiltercycle,thewaterdeviceslikeblower,mist
device(iftheseexist)andotherpumpswillrunbrieflytopurgethe
plumbingtomaintaingoodwaterquality.

SavingSettings
TheTime-of-Dayscreenisasimple,editablescreenthatillustratesa
featureofthecontrolthatappliestoallothereditablescreensas
well.
Whenchangesaremade,theicontogo“Back”changesto“Save”
andanewiconfor“Cancel”appearsundertheSaveicon.
NavigatingtotheleftwillhighlighttheSaveicon,andnavigating
downfromtherewillallowtheusertocancelthependingchange.
Pressingthe“Select”buttonwillsaveorcancelthechangesandgo
backtothepreviousscreen.
Note:
If power is interrupted to the system, Time-of-Day will be
maintainedforseveraldays.
Time-of-DayBesuretosettheTime-of-Day
Setting the time-of-day is important for determining fi ltration
timesandotherbackgroundfeatures.
“SetTime”willappearonthedisplayifnotime-of-dayissetinthe
memory.
OntheSettingsScreen,selecttheTime-of-Dayline.OntheTime-of-
Day screen, simply navigate right and left to select the Hour,
Minutes,AM/PMand12/24Hoursegments.UsetheUpandDown
Buttonstomakechanges.

CirculationPumpModes
Some spas may be manufactured with Circ Pump settings that
allowprogrammingfiltrationcycleduration.SomecircModesare
pre-programmed to operate 24 hours a day and are not
programmable.Refertothespamanufacturerʼsdocumentationfor
anyCircModedetails.
PurgeCycles
Inordertomaintainsanitaryconditions,aswellasprotectagainst
freezing, secondary water devices will purge water from their
respectiveplumbingbyrunningbrieflyatthebeginningofeachfi
ltercycle.
IftheFilterCycle1durationissetfor24hours,enablingFilterCycle2
willinitiateapurgewhenFilterCycle2isprogrammedtobegin.
MainFiltration
Usingthe samenavigationand adjustmentas Settingthe Time,
FilterCyclesaresetusingastarttimeandaduration.Eachsetting
canbeadjustedin15-minuteincrements.Thepanelcalculatesthe
endtimeanddisplaysitautomatically.
FilterCycle2-OptionalFiltration
FilterCycle2isOFFbydefault.
Simply navigate to the Filter Cycle 2 line by pressing the Right
NavigationButton,andwhen“NO”ishighlighted,pressUporDown
totoggleFilterCycle2onandoff.WhenFilterCycle2isON,itcanbe
adjustedinthesamemannerasFilterCycle1bynavigatingtothe
right.
ItispossibletooverlapFilterCycle1andFilterCycle2,whichwill
shortenoverallfiltrationbytheoverlapamount.

These dedicated buttons will operate just like the Spa Screen
buttonsandtheequipmentwillbehaveinthesamemannerwith
eachbuttonpress.
LightCycleOption
IfLightCycledoesnotappearintheSettingsMenu,theLightTimer
featureisnotenabledbythemanufacturer.
Whenavailable,theLightTimerisOFFbydefault.
The settings can be edited the same way that Filter Cycles are
edited.
InvertPanel
SelectingInvertPanelwillflipthedisplayandthebuttonssothe
panelcanbeeasilyoperatedfrominsideoroutsidethehottub.

The control can be restricted to prevent unwanted use or
temperatureadjustments.
LockingthePanelpreventsthecontrollerfrombeingused,butall
automaticfunctionsarestillactive.
LockingtheSettingsallowsJetsandotherfeaturestobeused,but
theSetTemperatureandotherprogrammedsettingscannotbe
adjusted.
SettingsLockallowsaccesstoareducedselectionofmenuitems.
TheseincludeSetTemperature,Invert,Lock,Utilities,Information
andFaultLog.Theycanbeseen,butnotchangedoredited.
