Security
Do not leave within the reach of a child alone. The child must be supervised by a responsible
adult.
Do not ride less than 1m parallel to one side of the pool.
Do not leave the handling of the device unattended.
Never put the cart at the water's edge without the brake pad or a hard edge of minimum 35mm
high and 50mm long.
Do not leave a person in an intermediate position without a staff member.
Never try to repair one of the belts.
Never put your hands on the moving parts (pantograph, seat, winch) during the phase of going in
or coming out of the water.
Never unwind the belt completely: always keep a minimum turn (Stop mark is present on the belt
indicating maximum unwinding of the belt).
Keep your hands outside the system of belts and winches.
Do not pull the belts under any circumstances, it is to be used only with the winches.
When handling, position yourself sideways and use both hands if necessary.
The safety winch is an emergency device. It is only intended in case of motor problem of electric
actuator. Safety winch is not intended to be used in case of battery discharge problem.
Keep your hands outside the actuator system and pantographs.
Keep all electrical, electronic or power source (battery) equipment away from the water.

1. MAINTENANCE AND WEAR PARTS
A – Maintenance to be done on the device
Regular maintenance is to be observed on your device :
Daily: - Check the correct functioning of wheel brakes.
- Check the proper functioning of an electric actuator and also that it is in good condition.
- Check the charge of the battery, if you hear a “beep” sound meaning battery charge is below
20% of its capacity. When charging the battery, release the “red” stop button of the control
box.
Weekly: Visual inspection of the axes, cylinder and electrical cables which must remain clean, without
deformation, without leakage of oil or grease and without interruption in the electric cables.
Monthly: Good condition of the axes at the rotation of the arms.
Anually: See the maintenance plan.
B – Security
This device must be used according to a procedure described in the following section. In addition, this device
must always be used with respect to some important notions which are as follows:
The device must always be put in place with the brake pad unless there is a step of more
than 25mm high and at least 40mm from the edge of the basin justifying a sufficient stop.
The brake pad must be placed in alignment with the wall of the pool.
Before using the device to help a person, check that the battery is sufficiently charged.
Disengage the push button of the control box and press the remote buttons, if you hear a “beep” sound
meaning battery charge is below 20% of its capacity, do not use the device in this case and charge the
battery.
Never remove counterweights set up in the factory or by a person authorized by Hexagone.
If using the emergency winch, in the event of a motor problem (and not a battery problem),
always make the ascent by turning the winch crank clockwise (except if Hexagone specifies
in writing the use of a reverse direction winch). When mounting it is imperative to hear the
"click" of the winch brake.
When using the emergency winch, never unwind the belt more than the red stop mark.
Never use the device in case of deterioration on the axes holding the cylinder or the
cylinder itself.

2. UTILISATION - PROCEDURE
A - Getting started and counterweight
1. Product overview
The UNI-KART lift is a lifting system designed to allow people with physical or mobility impairments to
access a large part of swimming pools.
HEXAGONE MANUFACTURE has designed this system and it is necessary to follow all instructions
contained in the user manual. This ensures safe, reliable and correct operation of the lift and thus
prevents injury.
This design ensures smooth and safe operation and minimizes maintenance issues. UNI-KART is
designed to provide some flexibility to pool establishments seeking to access more than one pool and /
or to meet the needs of users wishing to enter or leave a pool at different locations.
The UNI-KART has a maximum lifting capacity of 136kgs.
2. Terms of use
Unikart :
Can be used on a rigid surface with a slope of 3 ° to 5 °, in accordance with the provisions of the sport
code.
Can be used on a rigid surface with a slope lower or equal to 2 °, in accordance with the provisions of
the code of construction and housing (for a path to the pool, identified and accessible to disabled people).
The two objectives are hygiene through a good flow of water and the full accessibility of the pool.
ATTENTION, this restrictive rule is to be moderated because it is complex to make an exhaustive state of
all the possible cases. If use is desired under different conditions, please contact Hexagone who will issue
a certificate of conformity of use in relation to the specificities of your pool if the situation requires it.
The seat can not be placed above the empty pool (not more than 50cm), or more than 50cm from the surface
of the water. Unless specific conditions are reported to Hexagone. UNI-KART is designed to transfer users
from the deck around the pool to the water and vice versa. It is not designed to transport people from one
place to another.
Public can take advantage of UNI-KART:
The user should have consulted a physician to determine if aquatic activities are permitted and to use UNI-
KART. One person per transfer.
The weight of the person should not be more than 136kgs.
It is recommended :
That persons with reduced or no mobility at or above the shoulder should wear the stabilizing vest
(optional: delivered to order) when using Unikart.
Rinse the seat with clean water after each use and clean it daily with a disinfectant solution containing
bleach diluted in clear water (1/100). Then rinse with clear water.
In case of contamination by patient / user excrement, clean the seat with a disinfectant solution as indicated
above.
Do not use seat, seat belt, or stabilizing vest if damaged or worn.
Do not use the device if it’s damaged (parts broken, bent, other …).

3. Counterweights
Your unit was delivered with a quantity of counterweight depending on the length of the pantograph arm.
It is imperative to leave the amount of initial counterweight on the device. Any lack of counterweight
makes the device unusable. During the maintenance of your device our technicians will verify the
suggested quantities of counterweights.
B - Daily use for going into the water
1. Transfer of person
Block both rear brakes at the time of transfer. Do not unlock the rear wheels during a transfer, as the
device may move and cause injury.
Lift 1 or 2 stabilizing arms depending on the need of the person.
Keep your fingers and hands away from the 2 masts of the lift during use.
Raise or lower the seat to get the correct height for transfer.
Put the user on the seat making sure his body is centered on the seat.
Swivel down the stabilizing arms.
Fasten the belt.
If the user has a wheelchair, keep it nearby for easy retrieval.
2. Approach to the pool
Go to the place of launching after placing the brake pad.
Do not skirt the pool within 1m of the edge of the pool and the deck should not exceed 2 ° of slope.
Position the uni-kart on the brake pad. The uni-kart design in theory is dedicated to the site where the
brake pad is useless because of the abutment related to the structure of the pool.
Engage the 2 rear wheel brakes.
Detach the seat belt by pulling on the end of the belt.
Keep your fingers and hands away from the 2 masts during use.
The person is ready to be launched.
3. Descent into the water
WARNING ! Before each use check that the charge level is sufficient for the use of the device. If a
“beep” sound occurs when the remote button is pressed, the battery is less than 20% of its capacity.
In that case, do not use the device and charge the battery.
Lower the seat into the water by pressing the down arrow button on the remote control or control box (with
battery). Once the person is inside the water to a sufficient depth, detach the seat belt by pulling the end of
the belt.

C - Daily use for coming out of the water
1. Out of the water
Place the brake pad at the chosen location for the exit.
Position the device on the desired location.
Engage the 2 rear wheel brakes.
The user returns to the seat.
Raise the seat using the electric actuator by pressing the up arrow button on the remote control or
control box (with battery).
Raise the user to the desired transfer height.
You can unlock the brake and move away from the edge of the pool.
Keep your fingers and hands away from the 2 masts during use.
2. Distance from the pool
Fasten the belt.
Unlock both brakes and pull the device backwards.
Go to the place of recovery of the wheelchair or removal of the person.
Do not skirt the pool within 1m of the edge of the pool and the deck should not exceed 2 ° of slope.
Keep your fingers and hands away from the 2 masts during use.
3. Transfer of person
Block both rear brakes at the time of transfer. Do not unlock the rear wheels during a transfer, as the
device may move and cause injury.

3 - YOUR GUARANTEE
A - Conditions
We guarantee that all equipment is free from defects in materials and workmanship and that it corresponds to
the evolution of the technic and the rules in force at the time of its launching in the market. Subsequent
technological changes made to our products, due to technological progress, can not give rise to an intervention
on our part.
The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the appliance, if a lack of conformity is recognized. The
choice of the solution is decided by the manufacturer, knowing that the implementation of the guarantee can not
be superior to the direct damage suffered, and could not lead to unreasonable costs borne by the seller or the
manufacturer.
The warranty is automatically canceled if the device has undergone the intervention of a third party (workshops
or technicians) not approved by us, or if changes have been made without our written consent. The guarantee
is also canceled by right in case of use or maintenance not in conformity with the instructions of use
accompanying the device at the time of its purchase.
Any legal guarantee such as that described in article 1641 of the Civil Code applies. Any text that would come
into force after the publication of this warranty, and whose terms would be of public order, would apply
automatically even if it is different from these.
Following are excluded from the guarantee:
Replacement of wear parts such as axes, belts…
The breakage due to shocks.
Any failure relating to replacement of parts without the original parts.
Problems arising from non-compliance with the instructions in the user's manual.
The battery is guaranteed 3 months, then between 3 months and 12 months in proportion to
the time elapsed.
Under no circumstances may the repair or replacement performed under the warranty extends or renews the
warranty period of the device.
B - Duration of the guarantee
The warranty period is of 2 years or 4,000 cycles from the date of invoice to the first user subject to sending the
device warranty card to the manufacturer as well as the purchase invoice of the customer or its photocopy. For
safety reasons, we impose an annual inspection visit or after every 1000 cycles. Not respecting the timeline of
the visit cancels all warranties of the device.
C - Purpose of the guarantee
During the warranty period defined above, any part found to be defective will be repaired or exchanged by the
manufacturer with a new part or in good working order.
Subject to any French legal provisions of public order that could be put into effect after the publication of this
warranty, travel and labor costs will be borne by the user.
In case of return to the workshop, the cost of transportation to and from the place of residence will be borne by
the user, labor costs remain the responsibility of the manufacturer.
The immobilisation and the deprivation of enjoyment of a device in case of possible repair can not give rise to
allowances. In any case, the legal warranty of the seller continues to apply under Article 4 of Decree No. 78-464
of March 24, 1978.
D - Transport damage
The devices always transport at the risk of the recipient. It is up to the recipient to check that it is in perfect
condition before taking delivery of the device,. Our responsibility can not be engaged on this subject.
E - Conformity
Machine directive 2066/42/CE.
Additional note to the marking CE.
The product has been tested under normal conditions of use.

5. MOUNTING OF UNIKART DESIGN MOTORISED
1. WARNING !! When unpacking, carefully hold the seat before cutting the plastic film. Because the seat is
not held by the jack this will fall to the ground. Keep it in position when unpacking and lay it gently on the
ground.
2. Open the packaging and check the condition of the device. WARNING Read the complete assembly
instructions carefully.
3. To fix the actuator, press the down or up arrow button of the remote control so that the center of the
second hole of pantograph aligns with the hole of the piston. WARNING be carefull to the friction or fall of
these parts.
4. Once the holes are aligned, pass the handle within the two longest spacers in stainless steel positioning
it outside the piston and the shortest spacer which is positioned in the middle of the piston. Screw the
knob on the other end of the handle.
5. Raise the piston and the seat with the remote control.
6. Place 180kgs of counterweight over the three bars at the back of the unit. Make sure they are evenly
distributed (12 discs per bar).
7. Your device is ready for use.

6. PROCEDURE FOR USING UNIKART DESIGN MOTORISED
A - Usage
WARNING! It is very important that the battery is charged before use! Do not use Unikart if you hear the "beep"
sound from the battery (battery discharged).
IN NO EVENT WILL THE SAFETY WINCH BE USED FOR A BATTERY CHARGE FAULT.
A wall charger option is available with a battery to eliminate the problem of having the battery charged (Ref:
EEV0001N000 + EEV0002N000, ask a quote to our sales department).
1. Place the carpet (braking plate) flat for Unikart, stick it to the edge of the pool.
2. Check that there is enough battery to put the person in the water (when the battery is fully charged
you can use the device 20 times for the actuator to go up and down). If the battery is not charged
you will hear a "beep" sound. In that case do not use the device, it may block the person on the
device!
Note : When the device "beeps", the battery is discharged, do not use the device before it is fully charged,
about 10hours charge.
3. Position the device in front of the carpet (braking plate) with seat over the pool side.
4. Place the person on the device. Remember to raise the armrests to facilitate the transfer of the person
and make sure to push the brake of each rear wheel. Before putting the person on the device,
please check their weight and make sure the counterweights are in place!
5. Release the brakes, then move the unit forward to put the two front wheels on the carpet (braking
plate) in the spaces provided for this purpose. Stalled the device at the bottom of the carpet.
6. Press the two brakes on the rear wheels, the brakes must be COMPLETELY engaged.
7. Unlock the emergency stop button on the control box if it is switched on.
8. You can now use the device with the remote control or the buttons on the control box. Down arrow is
to descend and up arrow to lift the person.
9. For taking the person out of the pool, make sure to check that the device is sufficiently raised so as
to not hurt the feet of the person with the wall of the pool or the ground or the device. Check in the
same way as for the entry that the battery is sufficiently charged to handle the device !
Tip: Plan to charge the device before each use (at least 10hours). The battery that is not used is
discharging by itself little by little.

B - Recharge
For a full charge battery, charge it for about 10hours.
To avoid damaging the battery, it is important that it is regularly recharged (approximately once a month for 24
hours) even if it is not used.
To recharge the battery, connect the wall charger to the control box and to the power socket.
WARNING! Do not throw the battery or control box in the water! Do not drop water on it!
The remote control is waterproof to a depth of 1 meter, CAUTION do not to exceed this depth to safeguard the
seal on the remote control.
Advise: Keep the cylinder as dry as possible, if splashes come to reach the cylinder, try to wipe it to
the maximum. The cylinder is made of marine grade stainless steel and waterproof, however in a
constant environment of high humidity and over time, it could be damaged if it is not maintained
(washed, rinsed and dried, see instructions of Stainless Steel).

C – Removing the battery
If you have a battery wall charger for our device (Option) and a spare battery (Option), you can remove the
battery from the control box. If this is the case, before each refitting of the battery, well dry it with tissue, as well
as the control box, so that as little water or moisture as possible can infiltrate. Same thing when you remove it.
To remove the battery, press the metal tab on the top and pull vertically. It naturally swings by pivoting on the
back.
WARNING! This part of the battery is heavy, keep it well and do not drop it!

7. USE OF THE SAFETY WINCH
WARNING ! This safety winch is not to be used in case of battery discharge (check the condition
of the battery before each use) but only during a mechanical problem of the system (breakage of
actuator, jamming of the system ...) and during non-extreme blocking (completely lowered or
completely mounted). THIS WINCH IS FOR EXTREME EMERGENCY USE, IF NO OTHER
SOLUTION IS POSSIBLE.
Tip: If the person can get out of the seat, it is preferable that the person get down before the procedure, which
will simplify it and allow to reassemble the device.
Follow the instructions carefully and in any case pay attention to the person on the device, if the person cannot
get down.
To carry out this procedure we impose to perform it with at least two people. The first remaining behind the
Unikart holding the device and handling the winch all along the procedure. The second deals with manipulations
on the device (belt, braiding, axes, knobs ...) throughout the procedure.
Read the whole procedure for all the people concerned before doing it!
1. Unscrew the knob that holds the winch belt.
2. Remove the handle and hold the belt.
3. Unroll the winch belt (turn counter-clockwise when facing the crank) the belt should unwound at least
3m to be able to attach at the end of the seat structure. WARNING ! Do not use the belt for other purpose!
4. Attaching the belt :
a. Go over the axis of the frame.

b. Pass the belt below (A) of the first pantograph and below (B) of the the second.
c. Pass the belt behind all the axes of the seat structure until the last axe.
d. Pull the belt up to the pins under the safety winch (go under the two axes of the pantographs and on
the same side of the jack).
e. Pass the belt under (C) of the pantograph, over axe (D) and behind all other axes until the last one.

f. Pull the belt up to the axe holding the seat (go under the axes of the pantographs and on the same
side of the cylinder). Always staying on the second passage.
g. Place the belt in front of the second hole and pass the axle through the loop of the belt. Screw the
knob on the other side of axe.
h. Check that the belt is not knotted. Braiding makes a "snail" / "spiral". The belt never crosses and
always passes on the same side of the actuator. Check that the belt is stretched everywhere (at all
levels) and not get tangled up. The belt should remains well at each level.

5. WARNING ! THIS STEP IS MANDATORY AND VERY IMPORTANT ! Wind the belt (clockwise for the winch
crank). Wrap the belt as much as possible. Check that it slides well on all levels. The more weight on the
Unikart, the more resistant the crank is. Wrap the belt until the seat rises slightly. The belt must be stretched
at all levels, untangled and remain at their respective levels.
When winding the winch belt (clockwise for the winch crank), you must hear the "click" of the winch
brake, which means that the brake is active when the operator stops to wind the belt.
THE STRAP MUST BE TIGHTENED MAXIMUM AT ALL LEVELS TO HAVE NO RISK OF FALLING
OF THE SEAT AND THE PERSON !
6. Unscrew the knob on the actuator pin.
7. Make sure the belt is tight on all winding levels on the unit, if its not, tight the belt by winding (clockwise on
the crank).
8. WARNING ! THIS STEP IS DIFFICULT ! More the weight on the seat, more strength is required in this step.
Remove the axe handle holding the piston (possibility to turn it like a screw), normally the seat and the
person must not move. Otherwise tighten the crank (clockwise). Warning ! The parts holding the cylinder
might fall. DO NOT UNWIND THE BELT, RISK OF FALL OF THE SEAT AND THE PERSON. If you cannot
remove the axe handle from the piston, winding the strap (clockwise) should help. The more the strap is
stretched, the more the seat goes up and easier it is to unmount the piston.
9. Once the piston is unmounted, you can lift the seat (turn clockwise on the crank). Check that the cylinder
does not prevent the lift by blocking in certain places.
10. Once above procedure has been carried out and the seat is lifted, DO NOT USE THE DEVICE ! Contact
the after-sales service of Hexagone who will make an intervention to repair the device (change of belts,
winch, actuator or other equipment if necessary).
IN NO EVENT SHOULD THE SAFETY WINCH BE USED FOR LIFTING OR DESCENDING PEOPLE. AT THE
END OF THE PROCEDURE, THE APPLIANCE BECOMES OUT OF SERVICE.
In any case, Hexagone Manufacture cannot be blamed of its responsibility and this emergency
procedure is under the users responsibility.
Tip: Perform the procedure with no weight on the seat once a quarter during periodic system checks.
