Onlyuseoriginalsparepartsandaccessoriesfortheunit.Nevercarryouttechnicalmodificationstothe
unit.
Theunitshouldbescrappedifeithertheelectricalcablesorhousingaredefective!
Neveropentheunithousingoritsattendantcomponents,unlessthisisexplicitlyrequiredinthe
operatinginstructions.

Installtheunitsothatitisnotexposedtodirectsunradiation(max.40°C).
Keepthesocketandpowerplugdry.Theunit,theconnectionsandplugsarenotwater‐proofandmust
notberoutedorinstalledinwater.
Extensioncablesandpowerdistributors(e.g.outletstrips)mustbesuitableforoutdooruse.
Theunitmaybeusedexclusivelyasfollows:

Foroperationwithcleanwater.Notsuitableforusewithchlorinatedorsaltwater.
Operationunderobservanceofthetechnicaldata.
TheUVClampinstalledintheunitisintendedtokillalgaeandbacteriainthepondwater.Eveninsmall
doses,itsradiationisharmfulforeyesandskin.
NeverusetheUVClampinadefectivehousingoroutsidethehousing,oranyotherpurposeotherthan
thatintended.
Thefollowingrestrictionsapplytotheunit:
Neverusetheunittoconveyfluidsotherthanwater.
Neverruntheunitwithoutwater.
Donotuseforcommercialorindustrialpurposes.
Donotuseinconjunctionwithchemicals,foodstuff,easilyflammableorexplosivesubstances.

Storage/Over–wintering

Stopoperatingtheunitiffreezingweatherisexpected.
Pouroutthewaterinsidetheunit.Thoroughlycleanandchecktheunitfordamage.Storeitafterdrying.
Storetheunitinadryplaceandkeepitawayfromchildren.
Placedandconnected
Ensurethattheunitisplacedatafloodprotectedplaceandonfirmground.Keepaminimumdistance
fromthepondedgeof2m.Ensureunrestrictedaccesstothecovertobeabletocarryoutworkonthe
unit.
Insertthehoseintothehosetail(a).Puttherubbersealinthenut,andscrewtotheinletandoutlet.
Connectthewaterpump,thenplugthepowercordofthefilterandswitchontheUVCclarifyingunit.
AfterswitchingontheUVCclarifyingunit,checkwhetherornottheUVClampislitblue(b)through
thecontrolwindowontheuppercover(WithUVC).
Ensurethatthedrainpipesforthewaterreturnarelaidtowardsthepondwithasuitableincline
(<1m).Canalsoreturnthecleanwaterintothepondviaawatercoursetoadditionallyenrichthe
waterwithoxygen.














Maintenanceandcleaning
Adheretothesafetyinformationgivenabove!Checkandcleanthewateroutletintothepondat
regularintervals.Cleanthefiltersatregularintervals(e.g.everyfourweeks),however,atthelatest
whencloudyordirtywaterfromthewateroutletreturnstothegardenpond.Carryoutquick
cleaningfirst.Shouldthisproveinsufficient,cleantheentireunit.Neverusechemicalcleaning
agents.










Switchoffthepump;disconnecttheplugonthemainhousingtostoptheUVCclarifyingunit.

Unscrewthehosetail;opentheuppercover;loosenthescrewsoftheback;andthentakeout
theUVCclarifyingunit(c).
Takeoutthefiltermaterialsrespectively,andrinsewithcleanpondwater(d)anddiscardthe
dirtywater.
Unscrewthe1inchunitoftheoutlet,drainthesewagefromthemainhousing(e).








Slidetheredswitchlocktounlocktheunitheadandhousing(f).
Turntheunitheadcounter‐clockwiseagainstthestop(b),thencarefullypullitoutofthe
housing.
Loosenthescrew(h).Screwofftheunionnut,pulloffthequartzglassincludingtheOringby
aslightrotarymovement(i).
Cleanthequartzglassouterfacewithamoistclothcarefullyandcheckfordamage.
WhenreplacingtheUVClamp,removethequartzglass.(Fig.E)
ReplacetheUVClamp.Onlyuselampsthedesignationandratingofwhichmatchthe
informationonthetypeplate.
Important
Switchthepumpoffirst,thentheUVCclarifyingunit.
Donotoperatetheunitwithoutwaterflowingthrough.
Theunitswitchesonautomaticallywhenpowerconnectionisestablished.
Afteranewinstallation,theunitonlyreachesitsfullybiologicalcleaningeffectafterafewweeks.
Thefulleffectonbacteriaisonlyreachedasfromawatertemperatureof+10°C.
Switchingon:Connectpowerplugtosocket.
AfterswitchingontheUVCclarifyingunit,checkwhetherornottheUVClampislitblue(Fig.A)
throughthecontrolwindowontheuppercover(withUVC).
Checkallconnectionsforleaks.
Switchingoff:Disconnectthepowerplug.

Disposal
Donotdisposeofthisunitwithdomesticwaste!




Remedyoffaults

Guarantee
Weprovideaguaranteeof2yearsfromthedateofpurchaseontheAquagardenBIOlogicGravityFilter.
Thisguaranteedoesnotcoverpartssubjecttowearandtear,suchasbatteries,impellers,lamps,ceramic
discsandOrings,oranydamagesthatarearesultofmisuse,tampering(includingdamageandalteration
ofthecable),negligence,damageandtechnicalmodification.Wereservetherighttorepairorreplace
theunit.Norepairsorreplacementwillbeundertakenforproductsthathavenotbeenproperly
maintained.TheguaranteewillbehonouredonlyiftheproductisreturnedtoyourdealerorAquagarden
(freightpre‐paid)competewithyourreceipt.Productwilldeterioratewithprolongedexposureto
sunlightandfadingoftheproductisnotcoveredbytheguarantee.
Therefundofcostsforremovalorinstallation,onsiteinspection,checkandclaimsforlostprofitcaused
bytheunitoritsuseareexemptedfromtheguarantee.
OurgoodscomewithguaranteesthatcannotbeexcludedundertheAustralianConsumerLaw.Youare
entitledtoareplacementorrefundforamajorfailureandcompensationforanyotherreasonably
foreseeablelossordamage.Youarealsoentitledtohavethegoodsrepairedorreplacedifthegoodsfail
tobeofacceptablequalityandthefailuredoesnotamounttoamajorfailure.

Thebenefitstoyougivenbythewarrantyareinadditiontootherrightsandremediesoftheconsumer
underalawinrelationtothegoodsandservicestowhichthewarrantyrelates.

