1. INTRODUCTION
The series TPI-SI offers intrinsic safety inputs. They are associated equip-
ment, placed in safe area. They are provided with input circuits for connection to a sen-
sor located in hazardous area and output circuits for connection in safe area only. These
instruments have obtained a UE examination certificate of the type according to
the prescriptions of the standards EN 60079-0 (2006), EN 60079-11 (2007), EN
60079-26 (2007), EN 61241-0 (2006) and EN 61241-11 (2006), in accordance
with the directive ATEX 2014/34/UE.

Classification of the appliance: Associated equipment - Group II (surface appliance) -
Category 1 (for zone 0 : gas permanently).
protection mode: «ia» intrinsic safety, maximum protection indice (protection ensured in
case of 2 defects taken into account)
«IIC»: most severe gas subdivision.
The series TPI SI accepts 2 types of µconsoles:
• the old generation with 4 electroluminescent alphanumerical green digits,
• the new generation with rear-lit graphical LCD.
The LCD allow the visualisation of 4 pieces of information:
- the value of the measure (5 mm high),
- the unit of the displayed measure, *
- the value of the analog output or the name of the product (TAG), *
- the status of the relay outputs and the RS485 communication. *

This µconsole with LCD also allows showing these information vertically or horizon-
tally according to the sense in which the converter is mounted.
• Series TPI-SI 40 / 440
(Process inputs) in standard version :
- One bidirectionnal DC current or voltage input
±100mV, ±1V, ±10V, ±20mA.
• Series TPI-SI 41 / 441
(Inputs Process, temperature, resistance and potentiometer)
- One bidirectionnal DC current or voltage input
±100mV, ±1V, ±10V, ±20mA.
- Thermocouple inputs (J, K, B, R, S, T, E, N, L, W, W3, WRE5)
- Sensor inputs : Pt100, Ni 100, ∆Pt100
- Resistive sensors : calibers 0-400 Ω and 0-2 kΩ (0-8 kΩ optional)
- Potentiometers : from 100 Ω to 10 kΩ
• Fast version: option F: (specify on order)
The fast version is available on the series TPI-SI 40 / 440 and on the TPI-SI 41
/ 441 which do not have the inputs thermocouple and ∆Pt100 sensor.
The option F (fast) allows reducing the response times on the analog output
from 140ms typical to 55 ms max. and on the relays from 120 ms typical to
35 ms max. (for an acquisition time programmed at 20 ms).

Recording of the alarms.
Time delay and hysteresis adjustable on each setpoint. Alarm messages
- Insulated digital output; option N: RS 485 2 wire, protocole MODBUS-JBUS.
Note: The presence of the option digital output suppresses the opportunity to
have a relay output.
• Series TPI-SI 441 / 440
The TPI-SI have only 2 insulated analog outputs.
The programming of the scale ratios is independent for each of the two outputs.
