5 - 30 LITRE WATER HEATERS
There are many installations wher e hot water is r equired
but where it is not convenient to enlar ge the existing
central hot water system or wher e there is no central
system at all.
This br ochure introduces a range of Ariston water
heaters, fr om 5 litr es to 30 litr es capacity , designed to
deliver hot water for localised use such as in small
industrial units, war ehouses, dentists’ and doctors’
surgeries, cafés, and cer tain residential situations, e.g.
additional bathr ooms, loft conversions, etc.
Ariston’s Eur eka and Piccolo water heaters ar e suitable
for vented or gravity cold feed. The Ariston Eur oprisma is
designed for installation with an unvented cold feed. The
specifier and installer should note the dif ferent
regulations and r equirements for the two categories of
unvented systems:
- over 15 litr es, and
- 15 litr es and under .

A sister br ochure, Unvented Cylinders, intr oduces Ariston

INSTALLATION FLEXIBILITY
Thanks to their compact sizes, the range of Ariston electric
water heaters can be installed vir tually anywher e. Ther e
are under-sink and over-sink models to suit demands fr om
low-usage single basin installations, to heavy-usage 2-3
basin installations. Installations of unvented water heaters
of 15 litr es or less ar e treated dif ferently by r egulations
and guidelines fr om those of mor e than 15 litr es.

ANTI-CORROSION
SYSTEMS
Ariston Eur oprisma water heaters ar e
vitreous enamel coated, high-str ength steel
for per formance and durability . All ar e
factor y fitted with an active magnesium
anode to give guaranteed long tank life. The
magnesium anode system is a sacrificial
anode positioned inside the tank in such a
manner as to ensur e easy inspection and
replacement
when necessar y.
RELIEF VALVES
All Ariston Eur oprisma unvented water heaters ar e supplied
with either a factor y fitted temperatur e and pr essure relief
(T&P) valve (model EP30 R only), or a separate pr essur e
relief (PR) valve. The T&P valve pr events the stor ed water
from exceeding 100°C in the event of the failur e of the
other safety devices. The PR valve is supplied as standar d
with Europrisma 10 and 15 litr e models and pr otects fr om
over pressurising. See over for details of Eur oprisma

THERMOSTAT
All Ariston water heaters ar e equipped with quality
thermostats, which guarantee high per formance and safety .
THERMAL CUT-OUT
All Ariston Eur oprisma water heaters ar e also equipped with a
manual reset ther mal cut-out. This device over rides the main
thermostat in the case of failur e. (In the case of the Eur eka
and Piccolo a ther mal fuse is fitted).
TOP QUALITY HEA TING ELEMENTS
Built with first grade materials to guarantee a long life, the
elements incorporated in most Ariston water heaters ar e all
produced “in-house” at one of the MTS gr oup’s ISO 9001
certified factories.
EFFICIENT INSULA TION,
LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
A high density , thick polyur ethane foam layer guarantees all
Ariston Eur oprisma water heaters excellent insulation, whilst at
the same time drastically cutting power consumption.

USING AN EXPANSION KIT
The Europrisma 10 and 15 litr e capacity units can be installed in one of
two ways. The following guidelines ar e designed to help select the
correct items prior to installation.
Current Water Regulations and
Byelaws per mit unvented water
heaters with capacity of 15 litr es or
less to accommodate the expansion
of water that occurs during the
heating cycle in the system pipe
work. To achieve this the pipe work
between the last cold water draw of f
and the water heater must be of
suf ficient volume to accommodate
the expansion.
If it is not possible to accommodate
the expansion in the system pipe
work, it is then necessar y to use an
expansion vessel and non-r eturn
valve (Kit A). If the mains water
pressur e may exceed 3.5 bar a
pressur e reducing valve (Kit B)
should also be installed. The
dischar ge from relief valves must be
made in a safe and conspicuous
manner; ther efore a tundish (Kit C) is
available for 10 and 15 litr e units
if required.
The Europrisma EP 30 R is cover ed by the Building Regulations and it is not possible to accommodate the expansion
water within the system pipework. Expansion contr ols must be installed. The EP 30 R is supplied with a tundish as
standard.
