QUICK START GUIDE
QUICK START ASSEMBLY
Open camera canister
and insert camera sled
into slots. There will be an
audible click.
Plug camera USB into
back of camera and
thread cable through
hole at bottom of
camera canister.
Attach main unit to
desired location.

Attach a monitor to
desired location.
Attach additional cameras
where needed.
(If applicable) Plug in all other cables. Connect your own
keyboard, monitor, and mouse as needed.

QUICK START SET-UP PROCEDURE
Launch RaPTr
software
(desktop icon).
Position camera canister so that image of
pallet is visible on screen, with barcode in
middle portion of Field of View (FOV).
Place pallet in area where you
want to capture barcodes.

for more info on
adjusting scan area
and scan distance.
Press F5 to enter Conguration Mode.
Click Congure.
From the Cameras
tab, click Properties
underneath the
image. Under Lens
Parameters, drag the
Focal Length slider to
achieve the desired
eld of view (area in
which your barcodes
will appear). Click
Properties underneath
the image. Under
Lens Parameters,
click Auto Congure.
Each parameter will
automatically adjust
for a total process of
about 2 minutes.

Green bars conrm readability. Adjust as
needed. If necessary, you can also adjust
exposure and gain in the Conguration tab
(see second circled item below). For additional
cameras, select each camera serial number from
the dropdown list (see rst circle below).
Adjust additional system parameters by each tab at top
of screen.
See pages 10-13 of SetUp guide for details on each parameter.

NOTES:
• RaPTr is most eective with 2D barcodes (data matrices) or 1D barcodes in GS1 compliance.
• Larger elds of view generally result in lower decoding performance due to decrease in pixel density per unit area.
• We recommend at least 300 Lux at the scanning face of the pallet.
• We recommend placing tape or paint guide lines for forklift routes to best ensure barcodes enter the scan area.

complete. To retrieve scan
data, open web browser
and type “localhost:5100.”
