Hettich ROTOFIX 32A
Centrifuge Preventative Maintenance Schedule
Taken from the operator manuals supplied with each centrifuge
Pull the mains plug before cleaning
Using detergents follow the instructions of the Hettich Operating Instructions.
Centrifuge Bowl Seal
Cleaning
regularly
Rubber Maintenance
after cleaning
Maintains long life for seal.
Always inspect seal for damage.
Rotor
Cleaning
at least once a week
Lube
after cleaning
Secured
weekly
Maintains good lab practices for cleanliness. Helps
maintain good results. Check rotor xing screw for
safety. Always inspect rotor for damage.
Buckets
Cleaning
at least once a week
Lube
after cleaning
Maintains good lab practices for cleanliness. Helps
maintain good results. Always inspect buckets for
damage.
Motor Shaft
Cleaning
at least once a month
Lube
at least once a month
Helps to ensure that the rotor can be removed
for maintenance when needed. Does not affect
performance. Always inspect shaft for damage.
Surfaces and Chamber
Cleaning
weekly Maintains good lab practices for cleanliness. Always inspect for damage.
Most Common Error Codes and Clearing Procedures
ERROR CODE – 1 (tachometer error)
Clearing Procedure:
• Wait for rotor stand still (120 seconds after rotor stops)
• Turn the power off and wait 10 seconds
• Turn the power on
• Check to make sure rotor is installed properly
before spinning
ERROR CODE – 2 (mains interrupt)
Clearing Procedure:
• Wait for rotor stand still
• Open the lid
• Press the start button
• Close lid and start again
ERROR CODE – 3 (balance error)
Clearing Procedure:
• Wait for rotor stand still
• Check to make sure the centrifuge is sitting on a level
and sturdy surface
• Make sure the rotor is installed properly and the bucket
weight is distributed evenly before spinning
ERROR CODE – d (lid lock error)
Clearing Procedure:
• Turn the power off and wait 10 seconds
• Turn the power on
• Open and close lid
ERROR CODE – F (tachometer error)
Clearing Procedure:
• Wait for rotor stand still
• Turn the power off and wait 10 seconds
• Turn the power on
• Check to make sure rotor is installed properly
before spinning

!
1. Clean with soap & water or a mild cleaning
agent after every use (or at least once a week)
2. If parts are contaminated by pathogenic or biologic
material we recommend:
– For disinfection: Helipur®H plus N from
B. Braun Melsungen
3. Dry immediately after cleaning
4. Lightly grease aluminium parts after drying using
acid-free grease, e.g. vaseline
5. With aerosol-sealed rotors and bio safety systems:
– Clean & check sealing rings regularly (weekly)
– Replace sealing ring immediately upon indication of
crack formation, embrittlement or abrasive wear
– Lightly grease seal ring with acid-free grease,
e.g. vaseline
6. Rotor and Motor Shaft (clean once a month):
– Disassemble the rotor and clean
– Lightly grease the motor shaft
7. Checked all parts on a monthly basis for
corrosion damage
