1} Introduction.
This mattress elevator has been manufactured using high
quality electrical components, mild steel tube and plate & is
designed to give you many years of continued service.
In the unlikely event of a failure occurring please contact your
supplier immediately, stating the serial number & date of purchase.
Each elevator comes complete with:
4 x Fitting straps with buckles.
4 x Tube locks with steel pins.
1 x Actuator with integral control box.
1 x Ergonomic Handset.
1 x Emergency battery (Type MN 1604)
1 x User instruction booklet.
If any of the above are not included please contact your supplier
immediately, stating the serial number & date of purchase.
Please Note:
A} The emergency battery provided will allow the elevator to be
repositioned in the event of power failure. This battery
should be replaced every 6 months or after one use.
B} The fitting straps may obstruct access to divan drawers.
Always replace securely if removed for access.

2} Limitations Of Use.
Your new Adjustable Mattress Elevator has been tested
to a MUW (Maximum User Weight) of 190kg / 30st.
It is not recommended to exceed this limit for safety.
This product must not be used in conjunction with any
type of electric under blanket.
The Adjustable Mattress Elevator has been designed to fit
most types of beds, from 2'6" (729mm) to 5'0" (1524mm).
It is the responsibility of the customer / user to ensure that the product
is securely fitted & that ALL fitting straps are fastened correctly to
this instruction booklet.
Please Note:
That some type of beds I.e. metal framed, may not
be suitable for this product.

3} Installation.
a} First remove the mattress & position the base so that access
can be readily gained around each side.
b} Place the mattress elevator squarely onto the bed base. Fig 1.
If the elevator is to be fitted to a single bed (2'6") or 3'0" wide bed
do not adjust the chrome plated extension frames & proceed to d}.
c} If the elevator is to be fitted to a 4', 4'6" or 5' wide bed, remove
the four plastic tube locks & extend the adjustment tubes & mattress
supports to the required width. Replace the tube locks securely.
WARNING.
Ensure that you DO Not extend the mattress supports
beyond the width of the mattress, as this will reduce the area of support.
d} Secure the two side fitting bed straps by passing the long straps
with locking buckle under the bed base & pass through the two triangular
brackets. Secure the retaining & locking buckles. Fig 1
Connect the retaining and locking buckles. Fig 2.
DO NOT cross the two long straps.
e} Tighten by pulling the straps through the locking buckles.
Once tight, tie off for extra security.
f} Pass the long fitting strap in the centre of the elevator across
the length of the bed & through under the bed base. Pass through the
rear bracket at the centre of the elevator & fit the locking buckle. Fig 3.
& in the centre of the elevator.
g} Tighten by pulling the strap through the locking buckle.
Once tight, tie off for extra security.
h} Place the mattress on top of the elevator & pass the long mattress
fitting strap over the mattress, secure into the retaining buckle.
i} Tighten by pulling the strap through the locking buckle.
Once tight, tie off for extra security.

8} Guarantee.
ASM Medicare Ltd garantees this product for 12 months from
the purchase date against faulty materials & workmanship.
Your guarantee does not cover abuse, misuse or tampering
with any part of the product by unauthorised persons.

7} Trouble Shooting.

4} Electrical Fittings & Operation.
Take the power lead & plug into the power / mains socket in the actuator,
located on the side of the control box. Connect to mains supply.
See Fig 5.
Push multi pin plug on the handset into the handset socket on the control box,
located next to the power socket.
Once the connections have been securely positioned, take
the handset with the lead
at the bottom & press button to raise the elevator and button
to lower.
Should there be a mains power failure, there is battery backup included.
This is operated by pushing the small button on the actuator and
simultaneously depressing the desired button on the handset.
WARNING!
Keep limbs away from ALL moving parts & rear stops.
Should entrapment occur stop operation of the elevator &
seek medical advise for injury if sustained.
5} Care & Maintenance.
Your new Adjustable Mattress Elevator should only be serviced by a
trained competent engineer.
Always change the backup battery every six months or after use.
The fitting straps & fixings should be checked regularly & be free from water.
Use a mild proprietary soap and warm water to clean the elevator
or a disinfectant that complies to BS 6424.
Always remove the mains plug & handset and cover
the actuator & control box when cleaning is carried out.
