Setup of the ID-282HAccessoryHandset
1.PlugtheACAdapter cordintothebase unit andthenintoawall
outlet.
2.Pullthebatterycontacttabout slowlyandremoveasshown.
3.Placethehandsetinthechargingcradle. Thebatteryiconon
thedisplaywillflashandthebaseindicator light will turnonto
showchargingis inprogress. Charge for at least 15hours
beforeregisteringthehandset.
USEONLYCLASS2POWER SOURCE,Rated6VDC, 400mA.
NOTE: Use onlythe NiMH 650mAh3.6V(AAA) batterypackincluded
with this product. After the initial charge, toenhance batterylifeand
telephone performance, completelycharge for15 hours .

DigitalCordlessTelephone with Touch Sensitive Keypad base unitin
orderto make and answercalls.You can registerupto 4handsets to
makeandanswer callsviathesame base unit. Handsets are numbered
1to 4. When you poweron yourhandsetforthe first time
‘NOTREGISTERED’will appear on the LCD screen.
To register a newhandset :
1.Touch andselect the Security
Setmenu >Registration.
2.Use or toselect the basenumberfor
registration.

3.Touch toconfirm.
4.Youwill see the message: ‘REGISTERING...’.Press and holdthe
PAGE keyon the cradleof the baseunit.
5. ‘REGISTRATION ACCEPTED’indicates thathandset isregistered.
‘RETRY?’indicates that registration has failed. Touch toretry
or toquit.
NOTE : Thebaseunit will then send a signaltothe handset registering
thehandset to thebase unit. OncetheRegistration function has been
completed,the handset willreturn to StandbyMode.
Thetouch panel handset offers a newexperienceintelephone.
communication.This Touch Sensitive keypadtechnologyis verysensitive
andmay takealittle time toget used to. Toavoid accidental keycontact
whiletalking, firstlift the handset totouch yourear,pause abrief moment
andthenmove thelower portionof the phonecloser tomouth.
The keypad will automaticallydisable when the receiver first touches
your ear.Thisfeature reducestherisk ofaccidental keypadactivation
whilethephoneis held againstthe sideofyour face.
To get the best use outof your Touch phone, pick itup from the back
and sides and cradle itin your hand. Whiletalking, the Smart KeyLock
preventsaccidental keyactivation during a call.
It is veryeasy to tell when thekeypad is disabled as the keypad backlight
willbeoff.
Toturnkeypadbacklighton andactivatethe keypad,
touch anyof the numberkeys, wait forthe backlight
to come on,andthen dial normally.
Duringacall, the keypad will beautomatically
disabled andthe backlight will turn off. When the
back lightturnsoffandyou wishto end
thecall, press the keytoactivate the keypad
andthen press the key again to end the call.
Touching the LCD displaymaytrigger the automatic
keylock sensorand prevent you from dialing. If the
keypadlocksensoris triggered, a smallkeywill
appear inthe top left corner of the display.

To adjust receiver / speakerphone volume:
Touch or during a call to raise or lower the volume.
To make a call:
1.Touch and wait for a dial tone.
2.Enter destination phonenumber usingnumbers 0 - 9.Ifyou make an
error, touch tocancel.
To answeracall:
Remove the handset from the baseunitand touch .
Toredial the last number:
1.Touch then and wait for a dial tone.
2.Touch .
To dial from the redial list:
1.Touch toaccessa listof theprevious 20 dialednumbers.
2.Use or toscroll through and select thedesirednumber.
3.Touch todial.
To reviewthe Caller ID list:
1.Touch or toenter the calllog during standbymode. The
numberof newand total callswill be displayed.
2.Use or to reviewindividualcalldetails.
To dial a number from the Caller ID list:
1.Use or toselect a phone number fromthe CallerID list.
2.Todialthe number selected, touch .

3.Thedisplaywill show'DIAL'and 'DIAL1+'options. Touch or
totoggle between dialing a local call (DIAL)ora longdistancecall
(DIAL 1+). Once you haveselected the dialing option,pressthe
keyagain. Thenumberwillbedialedasshownon thedisplay.
DIAL: dials the number for alocal call
DIAL1+: dials the numberfora long distance call
To store aCaller ID number inPhonebook
1.Touch or to reviewthe calllog. The numberofnewandtotal
calls will bedisplayed.
2.Use or toselect the numberyouwish to save.
3.Touch . Thecursor ispointingto 'ADD RECORD'
4.Touch toconfirm.
5.Touch toconfirm name or press to delete and edit the
name before saving. Forlongdistance calls,you mustadd a 1 at the
startof thenumberfor correct dialing.
6.Touch toconfirm number orpress to delete and edit the
number before saving.
7.Touch . Therecord isnowsaved.
Tomanually add a number inthePhonebook:
1.Touch .
2.Touch . Thecursor ispointingto 'ADD RECORD'
3.Touch againto confirm.
4.Enterthe name usingkeys 1-9,*,#.
5.Touch to confirm and save name.

1.Press the key. When the keyis pressed, and there is no
voicemail number programmed, the unit will momentarilydisplay ‘NO
VMAIL SET’and will then displayVMAIL NUMBER to prompt you to
enter yourvoice mail numberinto the phonebook record.
2.Once you havestoredyourvoice mailnumber, press the key
to automaticallydial your voice mail service to access your messages.
3.Ifyouwouldliketoautomatically enteryourPINcode,press the
key to create apause then enter yourPIN. 'P'will appear on the screen
toindicate wherethe pausewill occur. More thanonepauseentry
maybe necessary.(For additional informationonstoringnumbersin

Headset installation
TheID-282Hmay be usedwithanyindustry standard two-band2.5mm
headset, whichmust be purchased separately.Connect the headset
to the jack located onthe sideof the handset. Your phone is now ready
for headset use. Youcanpurchase a suitableheadsetfromAT&Tor
from anyelectronics retailer that sells phone equipment.
Using the Room Monitor feature:
To enable / disable the RoomMonitor handset:
1. Touch andselect the Room Monitor menu
2. Use or toselect'ON'/'OFF'.
3.Touch toconfirm.
Tolisten to the room monitor handset:
1.Place the enabled handset in the roomyouwish tomonitor.
2.Touch andselectthe IntercomCall menu.
3.Use and toselect a handsetnumber youwish to monitor and
touch or dial the handset number.
Whenthe Room Monitor is active, 'ROOM MONITOR'will appear onthe
displaytoindicatethe featureisactivated.Thehandsetspeakerwill be
turnedoff so onlythe microphone will be activated.
