Chapter 1
Introduction
Overview
The CV-130A / CV-130B are PS/2 to Sun interface converters. They translate
PS/2 keyboar , mouse, an monitor signals to Sun keyboar , mouse, an
monitor signals, allowing you to easily an conveniently integrate legacy Sun
servers into an IBM compatible KVM (keyboar , vi eo, mouse) installation. All
computers on the installation can be controlle from a single PC style console.
The CV-130A / CV-130B fully support ATEN PS/2 KVM switches. ATEN KVM
switches are esigne in two basic types: Those that use specially esigne 15
pin Special High Density connectors (SPHD-15) to transmit the KVM ate
between the switch to the computers; an those that use stan ar PS/2 an
VGA connectors.
The CV-130A / CV-130B are i entical in their functions, except that the CV-
130A is for use with the SPHD-15 switches, whereas the CV-130B is esigne
for PS/2-VGA switches.
The CV-130A / CV-130B are esigne to communicate with legacy Sun
equipment. They both have 13W-3 connectors for the Sun vi eo port, an Mini-
DIN-8 connectors for the keyboar an mouse signals.

connector.
For PS/2 type switches, plug the CV-130B’s keyboar , mouse, an
monitor connectors into their respective ports in the CPU section of the
switch.
Note: SUN workstations use a three button mouse. To fully emulate its
functions, you nee to use a three button PS/2 mouse.
2. Plug the other en of the cable into the Sun station’s keyboar an vi eo
