Your AT870 can optionally be built in with the Bluetooth Manager program to communicate with wireless printer. In
the Bluetooth Stack Service, your AT870 only supports SPP (Serial Printer Profile)
To make sure your Bluetooth device, keep these following tips in your mind.
1.1 To enable Bluetooth
Bluetooth is not started by default after a clean-boot is performed. It is because of your AT870 retains the bluetooth
state when a clean-boots are performed. For example, if Bluetooth was enabled before a clean-boot, Your AT870
boots up with the Bluetooth state enabled and Bluetooth virtual COM ports registered. Reactivate the connections
manually as the system does not do them. If Bluetooth was disable before a clean boot was performed, the AT870
boots up with disabled.
To turn on Bluetooth:
1.2 Bluetooth Manager
Bluetooth Manager is a program that makes your AT870 scan SPP device and connect to a device that you want use
in its scanning range.
After connecting your AT870 to SPP device through Bluetooth Manager, the AT870 supports Virtual Com Port (COM3)
and sets up the Baud-rate as 9600 bps

Scan-0, Scan-1 indicates the status of whether could searching by PDA
Or Bluetooth peripherals
•Connecting mode - Scan-0 and Scan-1 can connect to the Bluetooth
device near around . when executing BT_Manager , Scan-0 as Default
mode, have to scan and connect to the device manually. On the
contrary , Scan-1 could automatically connect to the most recently
accessed device .
•Preparing mode - Wait-0, Wait-1 can not make PDA search for the
device, but preparing to be connected from the Bluetooth device near
around. Wait-0 just can connect to the most recently accessed device
while Wait-1 is available for connection to those all trying to connect
devices .
1. Searching SSP Device and select as the description above.
2. Inputting the Pin Code provided from printer manufacturer.
3. Press the Connect button for connecting.
4. Selecting Scan1 in the Operating Mode would make it have most
recently connected printer’s information, so when re-running BT-
Manager and click open button, will keep connecting status with printer.

Factory Init button : Blue Tooth module will reset to the initial
state.
Automatic Connection Restoration
In Scan-1 mode, AT870 will restore the former connection after the
following case:
•Recovering the automatic connection state between AT870 and
Bluetooth Printer which supported by hardware way
•Turn off the power of AT870 body
•After you perform a reset or hard reset activity.
•.
Re-run BT_Manager
Re-run the BT_Manager, when you are under the following case.
•To close BT_Manager after it is connected to a printer.
•Do not want to use AT870 and Bluetooth Printer anymore.
•Turn off the connect state through BT_Manager or stop to support power
to the Bluetooth chip modulated in AT870 or want to connect your AT870
to another printer

1.4 API Reference for Application Developer
Your AT870 will get to be connected to a printer after the Step7.
To control Bluetooth Printer with the user’s application, you should set your AT870 as COM3 and 9600bps rate.
Application developer, if they need to make the program to control the Bluetooth printer, they must follow the below
steps.
Make your AT870 connected to a Bluetooth Printer through the BT_Manager. the BT_Manager program is only for
hardware connection support, so you will never use it as far as the Bluetooth Printer is not changed.
If you make program with the EVC++ Tool, you need to set the Port as COM3 and Baud rate as 9600bps.

Note: If there are some problem with your bluetooth printer when you use your program which is coded with the Library Function
provided from the printer manufacturing company, you should contact someone working in that company for further information.

1.5 Disconnecting Bluetooth Printer(SPP) from AT870
Use the BT_Manager to disconnect the Bluetooth printer from your AT870, when you are under the following case:
•To close BT_Manager after it is connected to a printer.
•If you don’t want to use the printer anymore, and stop to support power to the Bluetooth chip modulated in AT870
to save more power.
•If you want to connect your AT870 to another printer.
