The NVB5 and NVB10 are powerful night vision bi-oculars. They are waterproof and can
withstand the rigors of almost any environment. The NVB will give you the range and cla-
rity that other bi-oculars simply can not touch.
The NVB have a built-in IR for total darkness with indicator “ON” light within the FOV.
The NVB are available with a wide range of image intensifier options to meet a wide array
of specification requirements.
The NVB complex opticoelectronic system for individual use. The device consists of an
objective lens assembly, an eyepiece and a body. The body contains an image intensifier
tube assembly with an integrated high voltage power source and a battery housing.
The objective lens protective cover (not shown) is intended to protect the objective lens
from dust and scratches. It will also function as a daylight filter, allowing you to test the
scope in daylight or other bright light situations. The pinhole in the center of the protective
cover allows the user to check the operation ability of the device in daylight conditions.
NOTE: Do not test the scope in daylight conditions even with the daylight filter/lens cap on
for more than ten (10) minutes.

3
• Take the NVB out of the case.
• Install the battery into the housing with the
polarity order as shown on the scope. Battery
Type: 3 Volt, Lithium, CR123A .
• Press the button (short press - less than
1.5 sec.) to turn the unit on with the protec-
tive lens cover still attached to the lens. Do
not turn the unit on in the daytime without
the protective lens cap on. You should see
green glow in the eyepiece.
• Observe the scene and adjust the diopter for optimal image clarity.
• You may now enter dark environment or simply shut the lights off in order to darken the
room.
• Next, remove the lens cap/daylight filter. Adjust the front lens focus. You need not
change the diopter adjustments meanwhile.
• To turn the unit off, push the button again by short press (less than 1.5 sec.).
To focus the NVB, first you will need to adjust the diopter. Simply turn the diopter clock-
wise until it stops. Then, while looking through the eyepiece at an object, slowly turn the
diopter counter-clockwise until the grain in the image is sharp.
NOTE: We suggest that you focus the diopter in the daylight with the filter on.
Next focus the front lens until the image and the grain are both sharp. When you are in
low-light environment and the daylight filter is off, you may focus the front lens to obtain
the sharpness of the image, leaving the diopter adjustments unchanged.
NOTE: The front lens may be readjusted as you view objects at different distances.
Infrared illuminators, or IR illuminators, are
common for night vision. The IR light greatly
enhances the performance of the NVB while
remaining almost totally invisible to the naked
eye.
The NVB have a built-in IR with indicator “ON”
within the FOV. To turn the IR on, hold the
button pressed for more than 1.5 sec. It is
important to remember that the IR illumina-
tor is but an infrared light source, and like
any light source, it may loose its effectiveness over a great distance.
To turn the IR off, again hold the button pressed for more than 1.5 sec.
NOTE: The IR will automatically turn off when the unit’s power is off.

Built-in IR illuminator

4
The 450 mW IR Illuminator is powered
with is own separate battery. To install
the battery unscrew the cap and insert
the bat ter y the way shown on the polar-
ity diagram.
To mount the 450 mW IR Illuminator
onto the bi-ocular loosen the IR illu-
minator clamp, insert the IR rail the
bi-ocular mounting bracket and tighten
the clamp.
The IR illuminator control buttons are located on its top. Pressing “+” and “-” buttons
simultaneously works both to turn the Digital IR Illuminator on and to switch it off after-
wards. When the IR illuminator is switched on you can see the green LED lit. By pushing
the buttons “+” and “-” one by one you may adjust the IR brightness.
The IR beam is focusable to change the field of coverage. To change the beam width
slightly turn the IR lens.
You may change the IR control panel fitting your needs. The screw-tool from the kit is
used to loosen the clamp located on the IR. Rotate the IR to the most convenient position.
Tighten the clamp with the screw-tool to secure it in the new position.
• If the device is not to be used for extended period of time (more than 10 days) take out
the battery.
• Avoid touching lenses. If fingerprints or traces of dirt or dust appear, clean their surface
with a Photographic lens cleaning tissue.
• Keep lens cap/daylight filter on when not in use.
• The NVB scopes are not harmful to the user or the environment.
• Do not disassemble except to clean the front lens and eyepiece: it will void your war-
ranty.
• Evaluate the scope function by looking through it in a lit environment with the daylight
filter lens cap on. Never use in daylight unprotected the daylight filter.
• Never point the NVB at a bright light source.
• Adverse atmospheric conditions such as fog, smog, or haze and a lack of ambient light
(moon or starlight) may diminish the effective viewing distance.
• If you use the rubber eye c ap s for a long perio d of time, you may suf fer skin inflamm atio n.
If you develop any symptoms, consult a doctor immediately.
