Cryo1 Accessory Kit Installation Instruction
1. About This Installation
The Cryo1 Accessory Kit consists of three (3) unit installation. The installation
of each unit is required for use of the AtriCure®Cryo1 cryo–ablation probe
with the frigitronics®CCS-200 Cardiac Cryosurgical System (CCS–200). This
kit must be installed by personnel properly trained on the CCS-200.
The three units can be installed in any order:
1. CPR1 – Cylinder Pressure Regulator Unit
2. CPT1 – Cylinder Pressure Temperature Display Unit
3. OTS1/OTS2 – Nitrous Oxide Tank Heater
WARNINGS
The Cryo1 accessory kit is for use with the frigitronics CCS–200 Cardiac
Cryosurgical System and Cryo1–cryo ablation probe.
The Cryo1 accessory kit is used to maintain appropriate operating pressure
levels in the compressed nitrous oxide gas cylinders of the frigitronics CCS–
200 Console.
Do not use with gas cylinders other than nitrous oxide.
CAUTIONS
Read all instructions carefully for the Cryo1 accessory kit prior to installing
the components. Failure to properly follow instructions may lead to injury and
may result in improper functioning of the accessory components.
Use of the Cryo1 accessory kit should be limited to properly trained and qualified
medical personnel.
To avoid damage to the device, do not drop or toss any of the Cryo1 accessory
components.
Do not use the Cryo1 components if damaged in any way.
Do not remove or install Cryo1 accessory components unless the line and
exhaust pressure gauge read "0" psi on the CCS-200 console.
Do not restrict, kink, bend, clamp or otherwise damage nitrous oxide lines.

2. CCS–200 Shut Down
NOTE: For additional help on shutting down the system, please refer to the
frigitronics CCS-200 Operation and Maintenance Manual.
1. Turn the Nitrous Oxide Cylinder Valves clockwise to the “OFF”
position.
Turn the system On/Off Valves “ON” and “OFF” repeatedly until all
pressure gauges read “0” psi and the Exhaust Pressure Gauge
needles touch the silver stop.
2. Turn system On/Off Knobs to the “OFF” position.
CAUTION: Do not remove or install probes unless the line and exhaust
pressure gauge read “0” psi.
3. If attached, remove probe(s).
4. Turn Main Meter switch to the “OFF” position.
5. The CCS–200 shut down is complete.
3. Product Description
Important Preparation Notes:
It is recommended that the Tank Heater be installed and activated
approximately
ONE (1) hour prior to beginning of the surgical procedure.
Initial tank pressure range must be 925 - 950 psi. DO NOT allow tank
pressure to exceed 950 psi.
If the pressure exceeds 950 psi, unplug the Tank Heater from the outlet
If tank pressure drops below 925 psi prior to the beginning of the procedure,
plug the Tank Heater back into the power outlet until the starting pressure
reaches 925- 950 psi.
This device is intended for use only with the AtriCure Frigitronics CCS200
Console.
1. The Tank Heater is temperature controlled (pre-set to 34ºC).
2. Each Tank Heater consists of three (3) components to be
assembled. See Figure 1.

4. Installation Procedure
1. Loosen the tank restraint strap of the CCS200 console.
2. Wrap the band around the N2O tank with connector facing
upwards.
3. Secure ALL (6) spring retainers as shown in Figure 2.

4. Re-tighten the tank restraint strap. See Figure 3a.
5. If not already assembled, connect the controller to the power
cord and the band. See Figure 3b.
6. Connect the CCS200 inlet line to the N2O tank valve. Open tank
valve.

5. Operating Instructions
1. Verify that the ON / OFF control valves on the CCS200console
are each set to the “OFF”position. Check both System 1 and
System 2 control valves.
CAUTION: If Tank Heater is plugged in for more than 30 minutes with the
tank valve CLOSED, OPEN tank valve SLOWLY. The Console may be
damaged if pressure exceeds 950 psi. Unplug the Tank Heater from the
power outlet. Wait two (2) hours minimum before opening the valve.
2. Plug the Tank Heater power cord into a 110V outlet. The
controller will always be “ON”.
3. Monitor the tank pressure gage on the CCS200 filter assembly
every 15 minutes.
4. If the tank pressure reaches 950 psi, unplug the Tank Heater.
5. Continue to monitor the cylinder pressure gauge every 15
minutes.

6. After the surgical procedure starts, the Tank Heater should be left
“ON” (plugged in) unless the cylinder pressure exceeds 950 psi.
Continue to monitor the pressure gauge.
7. If the tank pressure reaches 950 psi, unplug the Tank Heater.
8. Continue to monitor the cylinder pressure gauge every 15
minutes.
9. After the surgical procedure starts, the Tank Heater should be left
“ON” (plugged in) unless the cylinder pressure exceeds 950 psi.
Continue to monitor the pressure gauge.
6. Shutdown Procedure
NOTE: Tank Heater may be very warm. Let tank and Tank Heater cool
prior to removal.
1. Unplug the Tank Heater power cord from the power outlet.
2. Close the N2O tank valve.
3. Bleed remaining pressurized N2O from the CCS200 system.
Follow procedure located on top console.
4. Disconnect the CCS200 inlet line from the N2O tank valve.
5. Loosen the tank restraint straps and open the spring retainers.
6. Remove the Tank Heater.
7. Re-tighten the tank restraint strap.
7. Verify Accessory Kit Installation
WARNING: Installation of all three (3) of the Cryo1 Accessory Components
is required to the CCS–200 prior to using the AtriCure Cryo1 cryo–ablation
probe. This installation Instruction addresses only the Nitrous Oxide Tank
Heater.
8. Care and Maintenance
1. The CCS-200, including Cryo1 accessory components, should be
handled with the care appropriate to any precision medical
instrument. Avoid banging, dropping or mishandling the system.
Periodically inspect the hoses and fittings for any damage or
wear. Other than maintaining an adequate supply of medical
grade nitrous oxide, the system is essentially maintenance free.

2. Cleaning:
NOTE: Do not spray or pour liquids directly on the unit.
NOTE: The unit and/or accessories cannot be sterilized.
WARNING: Ensure Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) is completely dry
before operating the unit.
CAUTION: Avoid caustic or abrasive cleaners
Guidelines
The following guidelines are recommended for cleaning the unit.
It is the user’s responsibility to qualify any deviations from these
processing methods.
1. Disconnect the unit or cart from the outlet before cleaning.
2. If the unit and/or accessories are contaminated with blood
or other body fluids, they shall be cleaned before the
contamination can dry (within two hours of contamination).
3. The outer surfaces of the unit and/or accessories shall be
cleaned with 70% -90% Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipes for a
minimum of two minutes. Do not allow fluids to enter the
chassis.
4. Pay attention to all areas where fluids or soil may gather,
such as under/ around the handles or any tight crevices/
grooves.
5. Dry the unit and/or accessories with a dry, white lint-free
cloth.
6. Conduct a final confirmation of the cleaning process by
visually inspecting the white cloth for remaining soil.
7. If soil remains on the white cloth, repeat steps 3 through 6.
8. After cleaning is complete, turn the unit on to perform
Power On Self-Test (POST). If any errors are received,
contact AtriCure to begin return process.

9. Return of Product
If for any reason this product must be returned to AtriCure, Inc., a
return goods authorization (RGA) number is required from AtriCure,
Inc., prior to shipping.
CAUTION: It is the responsibility of the health care institution to
adequately prepare and identify the product for shipment.
If the product has been in contact with blood or body fluids, it must be
thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before packing. It should be
shipped in either the original carton or an equivalent carton, to prevent
damage during shipment; and it should be properly labeled with an
RGA number and an indication of the bio-hazardous nature of the
contents of shipment.
Instructions for cleaning and materials, including appropriate shipping
containers, proper labeling, and an RGA number may be obtained from
AtriCure, Inc.
10. Disclaimer Statements
Users must assume responsibility for approving the condition of the
installation before it is used. AtriCure, Inc., cannot be held liable for any
consequential damage, personal injury or damage to property caused
by improperly installed products.
This document describes the proper procedures for the product
installation. Any deviation from these procedures, which may
compromise the function of the product, is the responsibility of the user.

Installatie-instructies bij de Cryo1-accessoirekit
1. Over deze installatie
De Cryo1-accessoirekit bestaat uit drie (3) unitinstallaties. De installatie van
elke unit is vereist voor het gebruik van de AtriCure®Cryo1-cryo–
ablatiesonde met het frigitronics®CCS-200 Cardiac Cryosurgical System
(CCS–200). Deze kit moet worden geïnstalleerd door personeel dat is
getraind voor het CCS-200.
De drie units kunnen in willekeurige volgorde worden geïnstalleerd:
1. CPR1 – cilinderdrukregelaar
2. CPT1 – scherm van cilinderdruktemperatuur
3. OTS1/OTS2 – verwarmingselement van distikstofmonoxidetank
WAARSCHUWINGEN
De Cryo1-accessoirekit wordt gebruikt met het frigitronics CCS–200 Cardiac
Cryosurgical System en de Cryo1–cryo-ablatiesonde.
De Cryo1-accessoirekit is bedoeld om tijdens het gebruik de drukniveaus in de
cilinders met samengeperst distikstofmonoxidegas van de frigitronics CCS–200
Console te behouden.
Niet gebruiken met andere gascilinders dan distikstofmonoxide.
VOORZORGSMAATREGELEN
Lees zorgvuldig alle instructies voor de Cryo1-accessoirekit voordat u de
onderdelen installeert. Het onnauwkeurig naleven van de instructies kan
leiden tot verwondingen en tot het slecht functioneren van de
accessoireonderdelen.
Het gebruik van de Cryo1-accessoirekit moet worden beperkt tot getraind en
gekwalificeerd medisch personeel.
Om schade aan het toestel te vermijden, mag u de Cryo1-accessoireonderdelen
niet laten vallen.
Gebruik de Cryo1-onderdelen niet als deze op één of andere manier
zijn beschadigd.
De Cryo1-accessoireonderdelen niet verwijderen of plaatsen, tenzij de slang en
drukmeter "0" psi aangeven op de CCS-200-console.
De buizen van de distikstofmonoxide niet inkorten, plooien, buigen,
afklemmen of op een andere manier beschadigen.

2. CCS–200 afsluiten
LET OP: voor extra hulp bij het afsluiten van het systeem raadpleegt u de
frigitronics CCS-200 Operation and Maintenance Manual.
1. Draai de cilinderkleppen van de distikstofmonoxide met de klok
mee naar de stand "UIT".
Draai de aan/uit-kleppen van het systeem herhaaldelijk naar de
stand "AAN" en "UIT" totdat alle drukmeters "0" psi aangeven en
de naalden van de uitlaatdrukmeter de zilveren pin raken.
2. Draai de aan/uit-knoppen van het systeem naar de stand "UIT".
LET OP: de sondes niet verwijderen of plaatsen, tenzij de slang en
drukmeter "0" psi aangeven.
3. Verwijder de sonde(s) indien aangesloten.
4. Draai de hoofdmeterschakelaar naar de stand "UIT".
5. De CCS–200 is nu afgesloten.
3. Productbeschrijving
Belangrijke opmerkingen over de voorbereiding:
Wij raden u aan het tankverwarmingselement te installeren en te activeren
ongeveer
EEN (1) uur voordat u met de chirurgische procedure begint.
De aanvankelijke tankdruk moet tussen 925 en 950 psi liggen. De
tankdruk mag NIET hoger zijn dan 950 psi.
Als de druk hoger is dan 950 psi, strekt u de stekker van het
tankverwarmingselement uit het stopcontact
Als de tankdruk lager is dan 925 psi voordat u met de procedure begint,
steekt u de stekker van het tankverwarmingselement weer in het stopcontact
totdat de druk 925 - 950 psi bedraagt.
Het apparaat is alleen bedoeld voor gebruik met de AtriCure Frigitronics
CCS200-console.

1. Het tankverwarmingselement is temperatuurgestuurd (vooraf
ingesteld op 34ºC).
2. Elk tankverwarmingselement bestaat uit drie (3) te monteren
onderdelen. Zie afbeelding 1.
Item 1 – Band (bevat borgveren en een connector)
Item 2 – Netsnoer (bevat een connector)
Item 3 – Controller (bevat twee aansluitpunten voor connectors)

4. Installatieprocedure
1. Maak de tankbevestigingsriem van de CCS200-console los.
2. Wikkel de band om de N2O-tank, waarbij de connector omhoog
wijst.

3. Maak ALLE (6) borgveren vast zoals op afbeelding 2 wordt
getoond.

4. Maak de tankbevestigingsriem weer vast. Zie afbeelding 3a.
5. Als deze nog niet is aangesloten, sluit u de controller aan op het
netsnoer en de band. Zie afbeelding 3b.
6. Sluit de CCS200-aanvoerleiding aan op de N2O-tankklep. Open
de tankklep.

5. Gebruiksaanwijzing
1. Controleer of de AAN/UIT-regelkleppen op de CCS200-console
zijn ingesteld op de stand "UIT". Controleer de regelkleppen van
System 1 en System 2.
LET OP: als het tankverwarmingselement langer dan 30 minuten is
aangesloten terwijl de tankklep is GESLOTEN, OPENT u de tankklep
LANGZAAM. De console kan beschadigd raken als de druk hoger is dan 950
psi. Haal de stekker van het tankverwarmingselement uit het stopcontact.
Wacht minimaal twee (2) uur voordat u de klep opent.
2. Steek de stekker van het tankverwarmingselement in het
stopcontact. De controller is altijd "AAN".
3. Controleer de tankdrukmeter op het CCS200-filter elke 15
minuten.
4. Als de tankdruk 950 psi bereikt, trekt u de stekker van het
tankverwarmingselement uit het stopcontact.
5. Blijf de cilinderdrukmeter elke 15 minuten controleren.
6. Nadat de chirurgische procedure is gestart, moet het
tankverwarmingselement "AAN" (aangesloten) blijven, tenzij de
cilinderdruk hoger dan 950 psi wordt. Blijf de drukmeter
controleren.
7. Als de tankdruk 950 psi bereikt, trekt u de stekker van het
tankverwarmingselement uit het stopcontact.
8. Blijf de cilinderdrukmeter elke 15 minuten controleren.
9. Nadat de chirurgische procedure is gestart, moet het
tankverwarmingselement "AAN" (aangesloten) blijven, tenzij de
cilinderdruk hoger dan 950 psi wordt. Blijf de drukmeter
controleren.
6. Afsluitprocedure
LET OP: het tankverwarmingselement kan zeer warm worden. Laat de
tank en het tankverwarmingselement afkoelen alvorens u deze
verwijdert.
1. Haal de stekker van het tankverwarmingselement uit het
stopcontact.

2. Sluit de N2O-tankklep.
3. Laat de resterende samengeperste N2O uit het CCS200-systeem
stromen. Volg de procedure die u boven op de console vindt.
4. Koppel de CCS200-aanvoerleiding los van de N2O-tankklep.
5. Maak de tankbevestigingsriemen los en open de borgveren.
6. Verwijder het tankverwarmingselement.
7. Maak de tankbevestigingsriem weer vast.
7. Installatie van de kit controleren
WAARSCHUWING: de installatie van de drie (3) Cryo1-
accessoireonderdelen is vereist voor de CCS–200 voordat de AtriCure
Cryo1-cryo–ablatiesonde wordt gebruikt. Deze installatie-instructies zijn
alleen bedoeld voor het verwarmingselement van de distikstofmonoxidetank.
8. Zorg en onderhoud
1. De CCS-200, waaronder de Cryo1-accessoireonderdelen,
moeten als alle andere medische precisie-instrumenten met zorg
worden behandeld. Het systeem niet stoten, laten vallen of
misbruiken. De slangen en aansluitingen periodiek op schade of
slijtage controleren. Buiten de handhaving van een voldoende
toevoer van distikstofmonoxide van ziekenhuiskwaliteit is het
systeem in hoofdzaak onderhoudsvrij.
2. Reinigen:
OPMERKING: Geen vloeistoffen direct op de unit spuiten of
gieten.
OPMERKING: De unit en/of accessoires kunnen niet worden
gesteriliseerd.
WAARSCHUWING: Zorg dat de isopropylalcohol (IPA)
volledig is opgedroogd voordat u de eenheid gebruikt.
VOORZICHTIG: Vermijd het gebruik van bijtende of
schurende reinigingsmiddelen

De volgende richtlijnen worden aanbevolen voor het reinigen van
de eenheid. Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de gebruiker om
afwijkingen van deze verwerkingsmethoden zelf in te schatten.
1. Koppel vóór reiniging de eenheid of het onderstel los van het
stopcontact.
2. Als de eenheid en/of accessoires besmet zijn met bloed of
andere lichaamsvloeistoffen, moeten ze worden gereinigd
voordat de besmetting op kan drogen (binnen twee uur na de
besmetting).
3. De externe oppervlakken van de eenheid en/of accessoires
moeten gedurende minimaal twee minuten worden gereinigd met
reinigingsdoekjes met 70%-90% isopropylalcohol (IPA). Laat
vloeistoffen niet binnendringen in het chassis.
4. Let goed op alle gebieden waar vloeistof of vuil zich kan
ophopen, zoals onder/rond de handvatten of in nauwe
openingen/groeven.
5. Droog de eenheid en/of accessoires met een droge, witte
pluisvrije doek af.
6. Voer een laatste controle van het reinigingsproces uit door de
witte doek visueel te inspecteren op resterend vuil.
7. Als er nog vuil aanwezig is op de witte doek, moeten stap 3 t/m 6
worden herhaald.
8. Schakel na het reinigen de eenheid in om een Power On Self-
Test'– POST (zelftest voor inschakelen) uit te voeren. Als er
fouten optreden, moet u contact opnemen met AtriCure om het
retourproces in gang te zetten.
9. Product retourneren
Als dit product om één of andere reden moet worden teruggestuurd
naar AtriCure, Inc., is er een RGA-nummer (Return Goods
Authorization) vereist van AtriCure, Inc., en dit voor het versturen.

LET OP: het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de gezondheidsinstelling
om het te verschepen product correct voor te bereiden en te
identificeren.
Als het product in contact is geweest met bloed of lichaamsvloeistoffen,
moet het grondig worden gereinigd en ontsmet voor het verpakt wordt.
Het moet worden verstuurd in de originele verpakking of een
gelijkaardige verpakking om beschadiging te voorkomen tijdens het
verschepen. Het moet ook duidelijk worden gelabeld met een RGA-
nummer en een indicatie van de biologisch gevaarlijke aard van de
inhoud van de verpakking.
Instructies voor het reinigen en materialen, geschikte verpakkingen
voor het verzenden, goede labeling, en een RGA-nummer kunnen
worden verkregen bij AtriCure, Inc.
10. Disclaimer
De gebruikers moeten de verantwoordelijkheid dragen ivm de
goedkeuring van de staat van de installatie alvorens het wordt gebruikt.
AtriCure, Inc. kan niet aansprakelijk worden gesteld voor elke
vervolgschade, persoonlijk letsel of schade aan eigendom veroorzaakt
door verkeerd geïnstalleerde producten.
In dit document worden de correcte procedures voor de installatie van
het product beschreven. Elke afwijking van deze procedures, die kan
leiden tot een verkeerd functioneren van het product, is de
verantwoordelijkheid van de gebruiker.
