permanently-mounted RV ladder.
WARNING
MAY CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH
The Extension Ladder is not intended to be a
permanent fixture. The Extension Ladder should only
be applied when the vehicle is parked on level ground.
Remove and properly store the ladder before starting
or moving the vehicle.
1. In order to determine which opening between the
rungs/steps of the vehicle’s existing ladder to insert the
Extension Ladder into, place the Extension Ladder’s
rubber feet on level ground and hold the Extension
Ladder upright and vertical next to the vehicle ladder. In
this position, make note of the height location of the
Extension Ladder rail hooks and the corresponding
height location on the vehicle ladder rails. The Extension
Ladder can be applied to any portion of the vehicle
ladder rails where the Extension Ladder rail hooks are
not obstructed by either or both a rung/step or a ladder
mounting point at or within 2” below the Extension
Ladder rail hook height location. If the rail hooks are in
interference with a permanently mounted vehicle ladder
component, then the Extension Ladder should be
inserted just below the interfering component while
ensuring that safe angle requirements are met (See
Diagram #4 for Safe Angle Requirement).
2. Once the appropriate insert area has been
determined, lift and swing the bottom of the Extension
Ladder to either side approximately 45° until the
Extension Ladder rail hooks clear the insert area (See
Diagram #2).
3. With the Extension Ladder rail hooks aligned to clear
the vehicle ladder rails on either side of the insert area,
insert the upper portion of the extension ladder into the
insert area until the Extension Ladder rail hook openings
are in a position to go onto the vehicle ladder rails.
4. With the Extension Ladder rail hooks in the insert
area, swing the Extension Ladder back to upright
position until both Extension Ladder rail hooks engage
the vehicle ladder rails (see Diagram #3). Pull the bottom
of the extension ladder out slightly but without exceeding
the maximum application angle / distance (>/=15° or 13-
1/2”. See Diagram #4). Slide the Extension Ladder
down the vehicle ladder rails under the Extension Ladder
rubber feet comes to rest firmly on level ground.
CAUTION
MAY CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY
DAMAGE
Failure to properly secure the Extension Ladder to the
vehicle ladder may cause damage or injury. Always
verify that the Extension Ladder is securely fastened to
the vehicle ladder when installed for use on the vehicle
ladder. Always verify that the Extension Ladder is
firmly resting on the ground when installed for use on
the vehicle ladder. Never move the vehicle with the
Extension Ladder installed for use on the vehicle
ladder.
Make sure the rubber feet of the installed Extension
Ladder can’t slip. Once at rest, apply some weight to the
bottom step/rung of the installed Extension Ladder to
ensure the installed Extension Ladder is stable. If
Extension Ladder is not secure, re-inspect the Extension
Ladder to ensure no components are damaged, broken
or missing. DO NOT use a ladder with damaged,
broken, or missing components. Verify rails hooks are
engaged. Re-position the Extension Ladder repeating
the previous steps until secure.
CAUTION
MAY CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY
DAMAGE
When vehicle is stationary for extended periods,
always check the position of the Extension Ladder
before each use. Adjust into correct position as
necessary, ensuring ladder is secure every time before
use. It is the responsibility of the user to verify the
Extension Ladder is secure to the vehicle ladder and in
the correct position.
OPERATION
CAUTION
MAY CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY
DAMAGE
For comfort as well as safety, hands should be
completely dry and footwear should have solid
bottoms to provide better grip and support when
climbing a ladder. Bare feet, soft sandals or “flip-flops”
are not recommended.
When climbing onto the Extension Ladder, grab onto the
rungs of the vehicle ladder using a hand-over-hand
method. Always keep firm grips on the ladder as you
ascend, only releasing one hand before reaching and
grabbing the next location. While ascending and
descending the Extension Ladder and/or vehicle ladder,
always make sure feet are planted firmly on the
occupied step before advancing to the next step.
MAINTENANCE
The Extension Ladder is made from durable materials
and is intended for outdoor use. However, minor
maintenance may be required periodically.
The Extension Ladder may be cleaned with warm soapy
water. Be sure to thoroughly rinse with clean water to
retain finish. May be towel or air-dried.
Check to make sure all fasteners are tight before and
after each use, and replace any missing fasteners before
use. Do not use Extension Ladder if any fasteners are
damaged, broken or missing.
The Extension Ladder is not intended to be a permanent
fixture. If the recreational vehicle is to be moved then
the Extension Ladder needs to be removed from the
vehicle ladder and stored separately. Storage is also
recommended if the recreational vehicle is to remain
stationary for an extended length of time as minimizing
the Extension Ladder components’ exposure to the
elements or other hazards will prolong the life of the
Extension Ladder and its components.
Periodically inspect the Extension Ladder tubing, ladder
rail hooks and step components for any damage, cracks
or broken pieces. Replace the Extension Ladder if
damaged, cracked or broken. Do not use Extension
Ladder if any components are damaged, broken or
missing.
