Introduction
Digital audio source - CD, MP3 & Tuner
TheCMP30isanAll-In-Oneaudiosourcedevicewhichaccommodatesthreedifferent
kindsofaudiosourcesintoonesingledevice.
ItcombinesaCD-Player,MP3-playerandAM/FMtunerintoonesinglerackspace19”
housing.OnthefrontsideisaCDslot,anUSBslotandaSD/MMCmemorycardslotprovided.
ThismakesitpossibletoplayregularaudioCD’saswellasMP3filesfromeitherCD’s,USB
memorysticksorSD/MMCmemorycards.
Ontherearsideofthedevicearethreestereooutputsprovided.Twoofthemarededicated
tothetunerandCD/MP3function,whilethethirdoutputisavariableoutput.Becauseof
thetwoseparatestereooutputs,thetunerandCD/MP3playercanoperatesimultaneously.
ThisfeaturecanbeusefulforapplicationssuchasMulti-Zonesystemswheremultipleaudio
sourcesarerequiredatthesametime.
ThevariableoutputhasavolumecontrolfunctionandcarriesthesignalfromtheCD/MP3
playerwhenatrackisplaying,butwhentheCD/MP3hasended,thevariableoutputwill
automaticallyswitchtotunerfunction.

Front panel description
Function rotary dial (FUNCTION):
ThefunctionrotarydialallowstoswitchthedevicebetweenTuner,CDorUSB&SD/MMC
operationmodebypressingashortterm.Itwillswitchbetweentheseveralmodesinthis
sequence.Byrotatingthisdial,theoutputvolumeforthe‘Variableaudiooutput’canbe
adjusted.
Bypressingandholdingthisbutton,theplaybackmodewillbeswitchedbetween‘Single
Play’and‘Normal Play’mode.In‘Normalplay’mode,thenexttrackwillautomatically
startplayingwhenthecurrenttrackisfinished.In‘Singleplay’mode,theplayerwillfall
intostopmodeafterthecurrenttrackbeingfinished,waitingfora‘Play’command(press
thePlaybutton)beforeplayingthenexttrack.Insituationswherethedeviceisusedfor
music,usuallythe‘NormalPlay’modewillbedesirable,whileinothersituationssuchas
educationalpurposes,housesofworshipsorgym’sthe‘SinglePlay’modecanprovide
greatuserconvenience.
LCD Display:
TheLCDDisplayshowsthecurrentoperationmodeoftheunit.Itshowswhichradio
stationisplaying,whichaudiotrackisplaying,whichfunctionsareenabled,…
CD Slot:
AudioCD’sshallbeinsertedintothisdrive.ThedrivewillloadtheCDautomaticallywhen
itisinsertedintothisslot.OnlyuseCD’swithnormalroundshapeandwithnormalsize
(12cm).AlwayscheckiftheCDslotisemptybeforeinsertingaCDanddon’tforcethe
CDintotheslotwhenitdoesn’taccepttheCDautomatically.WhenaCDisinserted,the
devicewillautomaticallystartplayingit.
CD Eject button (EJECT):
ThisbuttonshallbepressedtoremovetheCDfromthedrive.Afterthisbuttonbeing
pressed,theCDwillbeejectedfromthedriveandcanbetakenoutbytheuser.IftheCD
isnottakenwithin~10seconds,theCDwillbeautomaticallyinsertedtothedriveagain.

afterpressingthisbuttonagain.

Memory for the tuner frequency (MEMO):
Whenpressingthisbutton,availableradiostationswillbesearchedandautomatically
storedtothepresetmemory.Theradiostationsarestoredinorderofincreasing
frequency,startingfromBand1-Position1withsubsequentlytheincreasingfrequencies
onthehigherpositions.
Manualpositionassignmentofthepresetfrequenciescanalsobedonebypressingand
holdingthePLAY/PAUSE(1)–STOP(2)–REP(3)–RAND(4)–DIR-(5)–DIR+(6)buttons.
Mute (MUTE):
Bypressingthisbutton,thevariableoutputandfixedCD/MP3outputcanbemuted/
unmuted.Thefixedtuneroutputisnotaffectedbythemutebutton.Whentheoutputsare
muted,themessage‘MUTE’willblinkonthedisplay.
USB connection port & SD/MMC card slot:
AnUSBstoragedeviceand/oranSD/MMCmemorycardcanbeinsertedtotheseslots.
TracksstoredonherecanbeplayedthroughtheCMP30anditwillautomaticallystartto
playwhenthemediumisinserted.
Power switch:
ThedevicecanbeswitchedONandOffusingthepowerswitch.Whenthedevice
isswitchedON,theblueLEDabovethepowerbuttonwillilluminate.Afterpowering
on,ittakesaboutthreesecondsbeforethedevicebeingoperational.Thedevicewill
automaticallyresumetoitspreviousoperationmodeuponpoweron.
Functions overview
TheCMP30containsmanybuttonshavingdifferentfunctionsdependingofthecurrent
operationmodeofthedeviceandthewaytheyareoperated.Forexample,somebuttons
haveadifferentfunctioninCD/MP3modeortunermode,alsodependingiftheyare
pressedforashorttermorpressedandholdforafewseconds.
Belowtablegivesanoverviewforallthedifferentfunctionswhichcanbecontrolled,
indicatingthedifferencesbetweenthedifferentoperationmodes.

Power inlet:
Themainspowersupply(110~240VAC/50~60Hz)hastobeappliedtothisACpower
inlet.TheconnectionismadebyanIECC14powerconnectorwhichisfittedwithafuse.
Whenreplacingthefuse,makesurethatthevalueofthereplacementfusematchesthe
valueoftheoriginalfuse.(T500mAL/250V)
RS232 control port:
TheRS232controlportcanbeusedforcontrollingthedevicethroughexternalhardware
suchasaudiovisualinstallations,home&industrialautomationsystems,computers,...
ThecompletecommandslistforcontrollingtheCMP30throughRS232canbe
downloadedfromtheAUDACwebsite.
Variable audio output CD/MP3/Tuner:
ThevariableaudiooutputcanbeswitchedbetweenCD/MP3ortunermodeandthe
outputlevel(volume)canbeadjusted.Theselectionandvolumeadjustmentshould
bedoneusingtherotaryfunctiondial.Inmostbasicaudioapplicationwhereonlyone
simultaneoussourceisrequired(eitherCD/MP3ortuner),thevariableaudiooutputwillbe
used.
Fixed audio output CD/MP3:
ThesignalonthisoutputisdedicatedtotheCD/MP3player,andhasaconstantline
outputlevel(thevolumeisnotadjustable).Thisoutputcanbeusedforaudioapplications
wheremultiplesourcesaresimultaneouslyused(CD/MP3andtuner),suchasMulti-Zone
audioapplications.
Fixed Audio Output Tuner:
Thesignalonthisoutputisdedicatedtothetuner,andhasaconstantlineoutputlevel
(thevolumeisnotadjustable).Thisoutputcanbeusedforaudioapplicationswhere
multiplesourcesaresimultaneouslyused(CD/MP3andtuner),suchasMulti-Zoneaudio
applications.
FM Antenna connection:
ConnectthesuppliedFMantennatothoseconnectorstoensureagoodFMreception.In
caseofbadreception,theconnectionofanexternaloutdoorantennaorcabledistribution
cansignificantlyimprovetheaudioreception.

Quick start guide
TheCMP30playerisdesignedforinstallationintoarack(482mm/19”)withaheight
ofonesinglerackspace(44.45mm),butitcanalsobeplacedasadesktopunit.Before
usingthedevice,theconnectionsoftheCMP30shouldbemadeproperly.Theaudio
outputconnectionsshouldbemadewiththeRCA/Cinchconnectorsontherearsideofthe
device.dependingoftheapplication,thevariableeitherthefixedAudiooutputs(orboth)
shouldbeused.
Whenthedeviceisconnectedtoasoundsystemwhereonlyoneaudiosourcewillbe
usedatatime,thevariableaudiooutputshouldbeused.WhenconnectingtheCMP30to
aMulti-ChannelamplifierorPre-amplifierorwhenusedinaMulti-ZoneaudioMatrix
system,itsrecommendedtousethefixedaudiooutputs,sobothCD/MP3andTuner
audiosourcescanbeusedsimultaneous.Aftertheaudioconnectionsaremade,the
mainspowershouldbeconnectedtotheIECinputconnectorandtheFMantennashould
beconnectedtotheprovidedconnectors.
Afterallconnectionsaremadeproperly,thedevicecanbeswitchedonbypushingthe
powerbutton.Afterthepowerbuttonispressed,thedevicewillstartworkingaftersome
seconds.
TostartplayingmusicfromCD/MP3,insertaCD,USBstoragedeviceorSD/MMC
memorycardtotheslotsonfrontofthedevice.Whenthemediaisinserted,thedevice
willdetectautomaticallyandwillstartplaying.Youcanselecttheplayingtracksusingthe
controlbuttonsonfrontofthedevice.Forswitchingtosettingsofanothermediasource,
pressthefunctiondialonfront(Thevariableaudiooutputwillswitchautomaticallytothis
mediasource).
Thepreferredradiostationcanbeselectedbypressingthe and
buttons.Whenpressingthosebuttonsonetime,itwillsearchautomaticallytothe
previousornextradiostation.Whenholdingoneofthosebuttonsforthreeseconds,itwill
returntomanualseekmodeandyoucanselecttheradiostationmanual.
