Congratulations on purchasing your second
audio Microphone Pod for the Avaya IX Video
Conferencing XT Series. This brings an additional
audio source to your video conference, for optimal
audio quality in both small and large conference
rooms. The Microphone Pod can be used as a single
3-way mic for the XT Executive and XT4000 Series,
or as a second cascaded mic on the Avaya XT5000,
Avaya XT4300 and Avaya XT7000 Series.

Setting Up this Device
Connect the cables as detailed in the diagram overleaf, then
follow the steps below to complete the setup of the Avaya
Premium XT 3-way Microphone Pod. For details on how to use
the system after setup, see the User Guide for Avaya IX Video
Conferencing XT Series.
NOTE: The optional Avaya XT Premium 3-way POD can be
used as a single POD for the Avaya XT Executive 240 and
Avaya XT4000 Series, or as a cascaded second POD for the
Avaya XT5000, Avaya XT4300 and Avaya XT7000 Series. It
cannot be cascaded to the Avaya XT 3-way PODs (now End of
Sale).
CAUTION:
Make sure all units are switched off whenever
connecting or disconnecting devices.

Pod QSG
If the POD is connected as the second
POD (XT5000, XT4300 and XT7000), the
procedure is as follows:
Step 1.
Check if the first Premium 3-way POD is correctly connected
to the rear panel of the Avaya XT codec.
Step 2.
Use the cable supplied with the new POD to connect one of
the two ports on the bottom panel of the new microphone
POD to the available port of the first microphone POD.
Step 3.
Fasten the cables to the device with the cable hooks located
on the bottom of the POD. To obtain an optimal audio capture
and post processing, place the two PODs at a distance of at
least two meters from each other.
If the POD is connected as the first POD, the
procedure is as follows:
Step 1.
Connect the new Microphone Pod output to the microphone
input on the rear panel of the Avaya XT endpoint.
Step 2.
Fasten the cable to the device with the cable hook located on
the bottom of the POD.
Step 3.
Place the POD in the middle of the table.
