Safety recommendations prior to connections
■Only use the power supply and cable provided with the terminal.
Note: Connecting the terminal to any other external voltage source is strongly
not recommended.
To prevent risk of electric shock:
■do not open the front or back of the terminal,
■do not expose the terminal to rain or moisture,
■call a qualified technician for servicing (the terminal does not contain
any user serviceable part).
■This terminal is not equipped with an On/Off switch: to switch off the
terminal, remove the plug from the wall socket.
■If the terminal is dropped accidentally, disconnect it from the main power
supply, then call the maintenance centre for further assistance.

Installation

Connecting the power supply
1 - Insert the small plug of the transformer cable in the power connector at the
rear of the terminal.
2 - Connect the supply cable to the transformer (unless the power supply is a
single unit).
3 - Plug the supply cable into a standard wall socket with the 2 (or 3)-pin plug
located at the other end of the cable.
Notes: The MagIC 6100 terminal has no On / Off switch. This function can be
performed by connecting / disconnecting the transformer from the
power source.
However, it is recommended that you always keep your terminal
connected to the power source to avoid discharging the lithium battery.
■Once the power supply is connected, the display lights up.
Connecting the modem
1 - Insert one end of the phone line cable into the connector labelled LINE at
the rear of the terminal.
2 - Connect the other end of the cable to a phone outlet.
■To connect a telephone to your MagIC 6100 (if the option is available), insert
the additional phone cable in the connector labelled PHONE at the rear of the
terminal. The telephone should then be able to operate through the terminal.
Note: It is not recommended to use another system in parallel on the same
telephone since this may cause terminal transmission errors during the
processing centre call.
Connecting the PIN Pad (optional)
■If you want to connect a PIN Pad to your terminal, insert the PIN Pad plug
into the connector labelled 4 at the rear of the terminal.

Battery
■The lithium cell sustains the internal memory when the main power supply is
disconnected from the terminal.
This battery has to be replaced only by an authorized maintenance
operator. Replacing the battery may be dangerous.
The non respect of this rule would invalidate the terminal warranty.
Dispose of batteries according to the environmental protection
rules and the legislation in effect in your country.

■The cables must be placed on
the side of the terminal.
They should not go through the
terminal plastic foot.

Installing the SIM sized SAM cards
Notes: Do not use tools for installing SAM cards.
If a full sized ICC card has been introduced through the terminal back
cover, remove it.
The SIM connectors must be filled following a specific order: use first
the connector on the left (A), then if several cards are needed, insert
the second one in connector B and the third one in connector C.
Depending on configuration, another SIM sized connector (D),
replacing the full sized one, may be equipped with a fourth SIM card.
1 - Disconnect the power supply from the wall socket and open the terminal back
cover.
2 - Unlock the SIM sized connector.
3 - Open the connector.
4 - Insert the SAM card in the connector.
5 - Lock the connector.
6 - Close the terminal back cover and connect the power supply to the wall socket.
